Well there is still the speculation it's short because we have the anniversary event coming up soon (maybe right after).

Does suck though as I am away for the weekend and not sure if I will be able to log in and do a quest or two a day.

We had both events pretty close together last year and jesters festival was way longer than this last year.

Last year it got seriously boring after the third or so day because it's just three quests a day, the same quests each day, and there isn't that much in the way of drops that necessitate a longer period. I'm kind of glad it's shorter, tbh. I'm looking forward to the Worm Cult drops during Jubilee.

Wasn't it only 4 days long last year? I remember my only time to enjoy it was on the weekend, which gave me little time to use the XP gain.

Thankfully, I have the pie, so I won't feel rushed to partake.

I agree it's a bit short though. I missed last year but I'm available this weekend so should be enough time to complete it on my main.

It's just very strange to me that they would choose to do this over Easter weekend when many people are traveling. If they were going to do this for one weekend it should've been last weekend. It's a pretty bad oversight in my opinion. What was the problem with last weekend? Did no one in any meeting bring up the Easter holiday? You would think they would want as many players to be able to take part in it as possible.

Yeah, but it finally happened. Fake unicorn is coming in crown store. I bet it comes with a fake price too! I'm trying to mentally prepare for a PvP scene that will at a glance look like an army of unicorn riders. I'm scared.

Yeah they run the event on April Fools even though technically the in game date is later in the month (at least I believe that's the case lore wise).

It was about 12 days last year

Jester's Festival (Spring) - Running Sometime Spring (2018: Unknown) (2017: March 23rd - April 4th)
Anniversary Event (April) - Running in April (2018: Unknown) (2017: April 4th - April 18th)

The Jester's Festival is designed to incorporate April Fool's Day. Unfortunately this is falling on Easter this year.
Additionally a LOT of people complained about how "boring" it was last year and i think that this plays in to the decision to make this one shorter.

It sucks it's going to be short but maybe if there weren't so many plague slingers on the forums they may have just modified it a little rather than make it so short.

My only hope for this one is to get less of the banners.

And maybe they'll increase the length of the aniversary one as less people complain about it and there's more to obtain.

I too hope to get less banners.

I'll be home and was able to participate last year but I have friends who weren't playing last year and will be out of town and not be able to participate at all which means no opportunity to get dubious recipe or achievements.

I just think it's really lame to have achievements only available for one weekend a year on a holiday where many people travel. Yeah it's just achievements but some of us care about that stuff and that recipe will be expensive AF to buy if you didn't get a chance to get a dropped one.

The argument about it being boring is not relevant. No one is forced to do the event. If people don’t enjoy it, don’t partake in it. That’s no reason to shorten it.

Sorry about the confusion! We were a little imprecise.

You can definitely do 3 quests per day per character.

Technically, you can purchase the trees from the vendor at any time, but you can only get the Achievements required to purchase the trees during the event.

Just in case you don't have enough Gold during the event period, we allow you to buy the Achievement items like these trees at any time.

I mean, we have no guarantee that this was the exact thinking behind it, but i remember that this was the event where the foruns went mad with people complaining about how boring it was.

I'm in full agreement with you that this event should be around 7-10 days in length. I enjoy having the extra xp giving quests and double xp scrolls, pies, cakes etc. to level skills and toons

I wasn't on the forums at that point yet but those people are idiots. These events are all about double XP to level alts and the quests and boxes are a nice bonus. I'm confused as to what people want out of these events. The quests are meant to be completed quickly so we can get loot drops. It's difficult to make them not "boring".


Either way I just don't think the reason why it is shorter is that "people complained it was boring."

IF that is the reason they shortened it then they are the only Fools during this event.
