Should forum access require ESO+?

I think ESO+ should include the ability to post on the forums. This not only further incentivizes being an ESO Plus member but it will clean up the forums a great deal. There's quite a bit of players with only a copy of the game that have no desire to further support Zenimax and I feel like forum use should be a privilege.

No, players can show their loyalty through crown crates and other transactions and a player may want to voice their opinions on why they do not give zos their money for eso plus and may give suggestions to improve it so that they can consider getting eso plus.

I feel like that would definitely lessen the QQ - but the forums are really the only way to find/ask for info, so it's also a NO from me :)

This too, a new player may ask simple questions and among them if eso plus is worth getting

And so can't read/listen to more than half of the community? I don't think so.

It would be awful for new players who want to try the game out first before they consider getting a subscription. They're excited about the game, and want to learn more about it, but would be banned from the forums? I was one of those noobs once. I played for a couple of months before I actually got a subscription, and have been subbed ever since.

It's also not fair to players who love the game, but who don't have the money for a subscription.

I'd rather ZOS add something new to ESO+ that doesn't involve gimping or taking something away from non-subbers.

It just seems shady and cheap every time they resort to that, and doesn't make me appreciate my sub more. Instead I just resent their methods of adding "value". And I say this as a lifetime subber.

Nah. Buying the game is good enough to get access. Everyone who plays the game should be able to voice their opinions.

Why not make forums available only for people with 1000CP and 85k DPS? Because elitism is soooo trendy here.

See what you are trying to achieve @Knowledge but this place is way to liberal for that. I can see what you are saying, multiple people that seeming hate the game and have 'quit' yet still come here daily and comment / steer things.

But asking questions is too valuable to new players for this to be an asset.

However an ESO+ members area might give you what you are after. Active / dedicated players discussion.

Thank you for seeing and understanding my position. I agree there needs to be a new player help area and there should be a forum dedicated to that, that perhaps, would remain open to all account holders. Simply call it the "Help Forum" and open it to everyone while the remainder of the forums remain locked to paying members.

While I understand the reasoning behind it, to me it would feel like censorship or sorts. Only listening to the people who are paying to be listened to.. Limiting the group of people who can visibly post their feedback can only hurt ZOS' QA in the long run. I'd prefer to keep things as they are.

    Nope.

People who play without ESO+ are still people playing and partaking in the game, they should be able to join the community in discussions and give feedback to the developers the same as others.

It's also worth noting that some people on the B2P model might still be spending more money than an ESO+ making any arguments about monetary support not work.

Lastly if the main issue is the forums trolls and haters then a better solution would just be stronger moderation against people who clearly aren't interested with the game and come here just to post toxic material.
Paradox recently added this rule to their own forums to cut down on the people who only go there to post how greedy the company is or how the devs never listen.

You are right, too - I mean people go full on negative, 'QUIT' the game and brag about quitting and still try to neg out every thread going.
