@ZOS_GinaBruno just a little question... I brought it from stable before it is taken down...do I get 10k gold back if my new char get to lv10?

Just want a bit more gold to fund my outfits :)

    I think you get ... nothing.

    But I was thinking ... why not give us a choice of a mount? For example, my daughter has the nice Palamino horse. I'd like to get that since I paid gold for the sorrel horse.

    Unlikely to happen - sorrel horse was quite cheap in gold, whereas the palomino horse was a crown store item resp. a bonus to the ESO gold edition. The other stable horses would eventually be an option, even those are nearly 5-times more expensive in gold than the sorrel horse was. So I guess, we will get nothing, if we have this sorrel horse already.

    The palomino was a crown mount and then bundled with the gold edition. I doubt they'd make that an option as opposed to one that can be had for gold.

    TBH, this feels like a convenient solution to the old disparity in stable mount prices. One was 10k, the other 3 were 42k. Now they can remove the cheapest one so all the stable mounts are same cost.

    Would have been nice to get 10k if you already had the sorrel. However, then people would be asking if they could have crowns if they already had the costumes/pets. ZOS is not gonna open that can of worms.

    True. And I doubt it will happen, too.

    That said, they did give the Palamino horse away as part of the the ESO gold sales package. So in the course of a month we went from only a few people having it to what seemed like everyone having it.

    But I had already been gifted the game by then and missed out. :(

    Why not one of the other horses you can buy from the stablemaster if you have the sorrel already? Of course if you have all of them, well, I dunno.

    I just got to level 20 and claimed my choice of one of 3 free costumes. I have two already so only one was showing so I would imagine you won't get the horse or a gold refund sadly.

    Difference in price. Sorrel was, what, 10k where as the others were way more expensive.

    Because not all of the other horses were 10K horses..only the sorrel was.
    That is pretty much the starter horse for brand new players to ESO.

    LOL I know, right? When I was a newbie, I thought it would take MONTHS to save up enough for a horse. Only I didn't want the brown one, I wanted the brown-and-white spotted one. I thought I'd never make 42,000 gold to pay for that thing. LOL. Now it seems cheap to me.

    People seem to think that this reward system was designed for veteran players leveling their 10th character. The system is intended to encourage new players to keep coming back and continue leveling up their first character to 50.

    You get nothing as others have said.

    10k isn't much these days unless you're brand new to the game so it's not a massive loss for most of us.

    Well this didn't work out for me. I'm a new player on my first character. I just hit level 25. I didn't buy a horse yet because I was waiting until I had at least 20K so I didn't go totally broke buying it. Now with the update, I didn't get the sorrel horse retroactively and I can no longer buy one.

    Same thing as the free bank upgrade... if you have already paid for an bank upgrade when you level, then you get nothing. I decided to level my mule as there is no reason for me to keep it just as a mule. So I received nothing when I hit that level.

    You can start a new toon, and grab the mount. It's an accountwide unlock.

    Some complaints are much more laughable than others. Considering the mount is given at level 10 that one would be extremely LOL worthy.

    I have a similar question, I just came back to the game after a long time, before mounts were shared account wide. Do I get back the gold I spent on buying horses for other toons or I just lost it?
