If any one remember the old movie Fire and ICE i would love it if the did it in a style like that but with to-days cleaner lines in animation

TES games have long been about creativity and player agency. If it was a more linear story driven RPG then I could see it being able to be adapted to the small screen but with TES you would lose the agency that is one of the biggest part of the feeling TES games invoke.

    Elder Scrolls.

    Anime.

Two things that do not make sense together.

Who ever said anything about anime-cartoons?

Sure, I wouldn't go watch that either, if that's the case, but the OP only includes some generalized comparison to get the thought going...

Anyway, I would like such a thing, if it was made on the level of the cinematic trailers and kept the integrity of the original story.

Would I think it would be cool to have a TES movie or series, yes.

Do I think it would be successful, not that much. It comes down to the IP value of the franchise.

SWTOR and related games probably has the largest IP value of any game, for the obvious reasons, the movies. Ask anyones grandma or great grandma and they probably hear of Star Wars.

WoW, which actually had a movie made is probably the second largest IP value when it comes to gaming and it's world wide box office was less than the average of all the SW movies domestic box office. So comparatively it did not do to well.

This would not bode well for a TES show.

We could do this ourselves. Just point a webcam at a stationary drawing of the backs of a lot of people all huddled around a Banker with like 12 sorc and warden pets right up close to the "camera" POV and then later, representing an epic emp keep pvp defense show a picture of warriors around some siege and then shake it herky-jerky like, then 2 hours of the loading screen with a tip about how you get a skill point when you level up.

    I jest. Kind of.

It did indeed get the thoughts going. And the thoughts were not pleasant.

Anyhow, films made from video games have a low success rate, creatively and as a work of drama. The two Keyes books were low-flying objects as far as quality went, and I see no reason why probability should be challenged and a film/show of TES made. It's statistically bound to be rubbish.

I'm not convinced the world would hold itself up in this way. There's a reason people always pay lipservice to their most favorite open-ended game, not Redguard or the books.

Of course, each individual has their own picture of what it might look like in the end.

I have no idea how Blizzard is doing with WoW, but the movie of it was done. Does that mean it has no success? Even though, I don't like it much any more, there doesn't seem to be less success as my friends or the general numbers who still play this game after all these years now. I understand your concerns and shared this logic to a certain extend. But reality seems to be quite more complex than we assume to know...

Depends how animated? If like the ESO three fates story trailers, where it looks close to being realistic, then yes. If animated as in closer to a cartoon, no.

Also I’d prefer a movie over a TV series but either would work. Could take some existing lore from in-game and turn it into a film or tv series. Imagine a series based on the Alessian Empire, could go from its formation to its downfall - before someone says “already exists in a book in game though” yes but it’s different reading a book than watching a film/tv series on the same subject. There are details we build up in our heads after reading said books, some of us like to watch films/Tv series based on books to compare to our initial visualisation of the same story. There’s details that TV & film can put in that books cannot (& vice versa).

With good writing, and a massive amounts of lore in this world, it would be hard to mess this up.

That is, if we get good writing.

I don't care what style of animation it is. But I do feel like only an animated series could do this justice. Would have to be an insanely large budget to do any live action.

Animated is fine. I'd rather not see it as an anime. It's a series with a ton of Western roots. I realise it borrows from a range of cultural myths, but I feel a Western style would be more appropriate.

    Animated yes, Anime no.

It's not that I have anything against anime, I just don't think it's right for elder scrolls.

A more serious form of animation is needed. I might even argue for something like the 2008 Clone Wars 3D animation style.

No, because I don't want to see this as animation, despite loving animation.

Remember the Battle of the Throne teaser for ESO? Now that's the way to make a series!

I want that, not a cartoon!
