Sometimes it isn't always obvious where the person has fallen. I hate the ash piles because on console you just have to be placed just so for the rez icon to appear. However, there have been times where I've struggled to find a fallen player as they've been somewhere completely random. I can see they're dead, but where i simply can't see at times.

It looks like an intrusive thing, it's really not, you get used to it very quickly.

    Hope this helps.

Really appreciate the effort you went to to post that, but unfortunately I'm on console. Us plebs have to make do. :p

The idea that a tank or a DD or a healer should always rez is off.

    You can factor in:
    - content difficulty
    - mechanics
    - how many of each are there?
    - who went down?
    - what put them down?
    - what is happening now?
    - is it advantageous/can the group survive the rez time/scenario?
    - proximity!
    - (my favourite) what kind of rez will the rezzer give?

So, of course with 2 healers and sometimes 2 tanks in trials, there are more scenarios when they would/could/should rez, especially they are next to the corpse and saw them go down (sometimes you can start the rez as they fall and with Kagrenac's, Templar have them up in a jiffy).

Did you know that with Kagrenac's, Templar and 75 CP in last orange branch you can rez someone in 2 seconds, they have full health, you have a 12k shield for 10 secs after, you gain 2-3k Magicka instantly and the person rezzed has bonus Magicka recovery for 10 seconds.

I have seen many very slow dd rezzes that give a player less than half health and the mechs dictate an insta-kill upon rez, when a quicker one (due to proximity, sets/passives) would have saved the group.

DDs should rez in trials especially after 3 seconds because (i) there are more of them and the dps loss is less significant than the heal loss or tank loss, (ii) it becomes obvious after 3 seconds that a fast proximity rez did not happen...

Note: the above factors were for PvE rezzing. In PvP anyone can rez and it is way more situational.
Note: no-one should worry about rezzing in Maelstrom or duelling :dizzy:

This is a real gem. I'm using it for quite some time already and I wonder why such important and basic thing is not part of the game itself (so console users can benefit from that too). Or at least if it is somehow incorporated to in-game compass or something. I usually always res as soon as I see someone die. Sometimes it's not possible ofc (because of aoe and things like that), then I do it as soon as I can and that addon is real help in doing so. Unfortunately, I can still see a lot of clueless players running around trying to find dead person without knowing where they fell.

if it is vet tempest island, i dont rez
otherwise as a stamplar tank i rez as much as possible.
drop extended ritual, vigor after blocking a heavy attack, then rez.

If you have a dedicated healer or a dedicated tank they should NEVER be put in a situation where they have to ress.

Try to have the healer ress in BRF and see how that goes.

Ressing is always the DDs job.

If that's not the case, it means you don't need the healer or the tank.

'You raised me up so I can can die to bosses'

You got the song stuck in my head, I hope you know. I'm sharing the pain with all of you.

"You raise me up, so I can die to bosses,
You raise me up to DPS again.
I am strong when I don't stand in stupid,
You raise me up from where I once was slain…"

I've noticed sometimes DPS really don't notice if someone else died, they are too focused on crunching numbers as high as possible and avoiding red because they are squishy as hell. Tank will res depending on situation (if theres only the boss, most times tank can just casually walk over and res while holding aggro and defending - with adds its much more complicated and situational) ;; Somewhat the same with healer - healer wont res if in a phase where healing is crucial. If not most of the time healer will res.

It still comes back to DPS are the best to res (there are some exceptions in vet dungeons where its crucial to burn something down immediately) - reality is that most of the time the DPS could but doesnt know because number crunching and bragging about DPS is more important.

    -.-

Sometimes it can be really hard to see where people are dead on ground and when you start to ressurect and need to abort because of red AoE, being interrupted and then you have to find right position for trigger resurrection again which take some time until dead player is back on feet again, it might be better to continue fighting and see when there will be another opportunity to ressurect player.

Too many times I have been resurrected myself with nearly no magic left which meant instant death again. DD is not necessarily counting numbers, but have to focus on what might be best to do.

Both DD and healers (magic based), wear light armour and have just around 15 to 18 K health which means it isn't much health before those three player get into trouble while resurrecting another player. Only with some kind of shield or strong HoT effect, then they can ressurect with minimal danger to self getting down while resurrecting.

Funny I find a thread like this.

I tried doing Vet Cradle the other day and I (one of the DDs) was just completely ignored. Wasn't just me though we almost wiped but the Tank pulled through and managed to Res the Healer, who then went on a Healing spree while the Tank went to Res the other DD. But after the other DD got up, I was utterly ignored. They even walked over my body a few times. When they went down again and finally wiped I just said "nice" and left the group.
There's a bug where you cannot res/a person cannot be ressed by anyone. It's random and inconsistent but happens to me every now and then(for some reason I remember it happening quite a bit on CoS last boss actually) - there's just no popup to res and nothing you can do.

Of course it's possible that wasn't the case that time at all, but just putting this out there. When this happens to me I usually time "can't rez" but this isn't so easy to do on certain fights :D

It is the responsibility of everyone in the group to rez the downed group member permitting it will not do more harm than good. If you cannot safely rez a person you don't rez them, it is not necessarily negligence.
