Research builds for PVP. You don’t have to copy one exactly. reading about what armor sets, skills, cp’s people use will help you decide how to better set yourself up for PVP.

At first I was PVPing and was getting wrecked. When I started reading about PVP builds I quickly learned that I had on PVE gear was using PVE skills and had no buffs for my attacks.

Things started getting better once I had my gear and skills in better order!

Also you are going die in PVP. That’s part of it no matter how long people have played we all die in PVP.

yes, it's a rant...but i need to get this off my chest

literally every single time i go to cyrodil and try to take part in anything, I end up getting crushed horribly due to well.. the sheer lack of newb friendliness of the advanced mechanics which apparently literally every single other player there has mastered..and every time I inquire to get some assistance on the matter, i'm either brushed off immediately or get told "just learn them from experience" so going off that logic thread...

what i have learned from my time in cyrodil
1: sieging a fort never works
2: your group is always outnumbered... yes even if there's 50 of you
3: the enemy busy defending a scroll holding fort at the other end of the map will be all over you within 5 seconds so poking a resource
4: you will always be targeted out and killed first regardless of how many others are there with you
5: defending is incredibly hard..and most of the time outright fails due to a lack of manpower/support

so... anybody out there care to actually provide me with a hand in..fixing these issues, so the lessons learned are of a more...positive nature?
I mean surely I can't be the only one suffering like this...right?

You show symptoms of Puggerithis, I would STRONGLY recommend joining a PvP guild. You will learn more from them in 90 minutes TS chat than in 90 days of Pugging. Red guilds on Sotha are generally the most Noob-friendly. Blue guilds on Sotha generally require german or french TS. Yellow guilds on Sotha are often rather exclusive and prefer taking already skilled and experienced players only.

    1. Put a ballista at the door first, then a ram over it, and 3-4 ballistae around it. You can ram and shoot at the same time.

    2. People tend to overestimate their enemy´s number, and underestimate their enemy´s skill.

    3. That´s Sotha Sil EU ;) You should only play during CET prime time. It has been 17 months now since you could solo play on that server during the daytime.

    4. People tend to target those first who are closest to them. Also, bow users are easy prey because they typically die easily. Also, people like to target players with low CP, low health, and players that do not wear Heavy Armor. People AVOID targetting certain guild's members (dangerous) or known solo tanks (waste of time), however.

    5. You can´t effectively defend a keep against a faction zerg willing to take huge losses, they just throw more bodies at you than you have ammunition (well, you can maybe against a dc faction zerg on Sotha EU due to their lack of numbers). Even groups specialized in close-quarters fighting (aka ball groups) don´t even try that anymore, and just farm some AP and ninja a tick before they jump away or get farmed themselves. Maybe this changes with the AoE Cap removal.

DDK is the Daggerfall Covenant´s last line of defense on the 30 days no-cp campaign (EU). We intend to fight epic battles in small, casual player friendly raid groups.

So seiging never works... but defending a keep is really hard??? Contradictory much?

Sieging against an opposing force that knows you are coming because the attack was utterly predictable is hard. Defending a keep when you've got a lack of defenders and support is hard.

It wasn't that hard to figure out from context.
