If only one race were to get a buff, which needs it the most?

Just wondering everyone's thoughts on which race is in the "worst" spot, whether that's for PvE, PvP, or both.

In my opinion, NORDS are most in need of some love. The max health is nice but less than Imperials. The health recovery is ok, but in line with Orcs who also get a bonus to healing received which is far more important than the slow recovery, plus they get a dps buff. Cold resistance is somewhat of a joke considering there is very little cold damage and tons of fire damage and lightning damage (both pve and pvp). The only dps bump Nords get is the 6% to max stamina. So in theory they should be absolute Gods when it comes to tanking, yet many BiS builds you see (specifically looking at Alcast and Woeler) have them as only third or fourth best behind Argonians and Imperials, and even with Orcs. So they have no magicka (dps or healing), extremely minimal stamina bump (bottom tier dps for stam), and health, health recovery and damage resist which only makes them the third or fourth best tank. Time to give Nords some love.

I'll admit that for races I don't play, I don't know as much about their limitations. That's why I'm trying to get everyone's opinion.

Breton at least get Magicka. Nords get health regen. With CPs, their damage mitigation passive is weak, any other race can be as tanky, and still have more resources to work with.

I know why I would play an Altmer, an Argonian, a Dunmer, an Imperial, a Khajiit, a Redguard... excluding aesthetics (and as I'm not into RP), I can't see why I would roll up a Bosmer, a Breton, a Nord, or an Orc.

There may well be good reasons, I just don't grasp them.

Bosmer are the race that is always left out or listed last of being in Stam dps guides. I'm surprised khajiit have more votes than bosmer since khajiit do superior dps... nords are overall however the most needed to be buffed as I forget they exist, though I didn't vote for them as I'd never really want to play a drunken nord

Come on, is that really a question? Orcs need definetely a buff, as we are the only race, that have a passive which is ONLY useful for alts. Mainchars don't get a benefit when all their professions are 50.

Dark Elf - 50% less damage of lava (useful for alts + mains)
Argonian - increases swimming speed by 50% (useful for alts + mains)
Nord - 15 min more drink-time (cool for Psijic Ambrosia) (useful for alts + mains)
Breton - 1% more Alliance points gained (useful for alts + mains)
Redguard - 15 min more buffood-time (useful for alts + mains)
High Elf - 1% more experience gained (useful for alts + mains)
Khajiit - increases chance to successfully pickpocket by 5% (useful for alts + mains)
Wood Elf - decreases fall damage taken by 10% (useful for alts + mains)
Imperial - 1% more gold gained (useful for alts + mains)
Orc - 10% more inspiration (useful for alts)

Belligerence - Increases all forms of resource recovery by 10% and increases AOE damage done by 15% for 45 seconds after drinking a potion.

I find Bosmer race to be the perfect opportunity to grant Bow Bow lovers some boost.

I'm going to join the Nord horde here - as far as I know, they aren't really the top, second or even third choice for most builds except maybe some very niche PVP tank types. They have improved over the years but need something to make them stand out even more.

I'll add that the Imperial's Red Diamond passive needs to be looked at as well, either replaced with something more useful or buff it. Personally I wouldn't mind seeing them get a Max Magicka bonus as has been suggested in the forums before, to truly bring them back to being the most flexible racial choice.

I don’t know. ZoS is likely to look at this thread and see Nord top votes, then decide to not buff Nord but to Nerf the other eight races.

I agree that Nord has the greatest need for a buff. I also think that Bretons need a boost to magic damage and that Imperials could use some love as well. The rest are more than ok.

I don’t know. ZoS is likely to look at this thread and see Nord top votes, then decide to not buff Nord but to Nerf the other eight races.

I think adding a bonus to frost and physical damage makes sense in theory, but unfortunately the entire Winter's Embrace skill line for Warden's is magicka based. Otherwise, yeah, Nords would make perfect sense as Wardens with the animal and frost skills. Nords (like Vikings) should be ferocious warriors, it's pretty sad that they are at the bottom of the list in terms of dps.

Nords are supposed to be the strongest (do not mistake with agile) warrior race. Yet they seem to be the weakest compared to every other race. Perhaps some sort of rage/berserking ability? Or heck buff their stats and damage when they have a drink buff active. Look at khajiit crit passive...

I just chose my favorite race.
Homestly I don’t think it’s the travail passives, it’s that ZOS is trying to use a MMO skill tree with a TES build and lore.

Everything should be light, medium and heavy attacks. Magic stuff should be like Skyrim mixed with Morrowind excluding Oblivion combat.

I know that’s extreme but that would address the racial stuff if we use TES rules and scrap ESO skills.
