For the record, even if I voted YES and I want to see this feature implemented... I also hate cigarettes IRL and also really dislike the smell that people that smoke them have impregnated on them.

But, OTOH... real tobacco pipe (like it used to be at least) smells good... I still remember my great-grandfather who sat on his chair and smoke his pipe when I was a little kid... I still remember the smell. He was something like 96 years old at that time and he smoke pipe since he was young... those were different times, though.

There's a part of me that wants to be against it cause i hate smoking and can't stand people that do it, but i just don't care anymore. I'm no gaming saint, I've gotten my hands dirty in Grand Theft Auto before. I've waterboarded an innocent with gasoline, kidnapped a crime bosses daughter, picked up girls working the streets only to run them over after they were done and got out just so I could get the cash they dropped.

If people want to puff the magic dragon in a video game, who am i to say no.

I lost someone to a tree. Should we remove those too?

I am indifferent though. I don't smoke IRL (but i do drink wine occasionally which is bad also) but it's a game so i might stick one up then ingame.

We do realize that we are talking about a game right? I'm sure the 1 and zeroes that make up our in game characters don't have to worry about pulmonary emphysema, air tract infections yaddda.... yadda... yadda.... Theres many more sources and close experiences that tell the opposite.

And you can just learn to cope with your anxiety and stress without consuming that trash (and make people indirectly consume it too). You put yourself into that condition, and people around you don't have to deal with the consequences of your own fault.
