SWTOR. for all the game's issues, not only accountwide purchases are genuinely accountwide, but you CNA in fact transfer characters between US and EU.

that said, its the only MMO that I personaly know of. WoW doesn't even have the same client between US and EU, you have to buy the game over, to play on EU realms

GW2 does it as well. It's a pretty standard feature in modern MMOs. WoW is an exception because it came out 14 years ago when server technology was much more primitive. There is really no excuse for an MMO released in 2014 to not have the feature though.

I found out that nothing is transfered over servers. Nothing. Its like starting from scratch and you lost everything you paid for.

As much as I would like to have my outfits, CP, and items transferable between EU and NA it just won't happen. Whether this is a way to get money from player or if they just can't do it I have no idea but the customer support team has their hands full most of the time dealing with loads of BS. They aren't bad people even though they may get under our nerves sometime because they either are unable to help because they just can't or because they are barred from doing so by their higher ups.

They definitely can't do it. Their servers aren't set up to accomodate it. Which is the frustrating part. This was a huge budget MMO, published by one of the biggest publishers in gaming, and they overlooked such a basic feature.

People like you are the reason people hate working in customer service. You're demanding something the person responding to you cannot do, and cannot make possible even if they want to and you're trying to use your (likely miniscule compared to other players) purchase history and play time to lord it over them and act like you're a special case and your demands must be met.

To be fair it's far from the most absurd I've heard. That's a tie between the guy who told me I should have EU law changed, immediately, so he could save £200 on his planning application and the woman (in a different job) who demanded that I contact Nintendo and have them release Mario Kart on the Xbox and then deliver a copy to her so she didn't have to "waste her time" coming in again.

If you're lucky the best possible reaction you could have gotten to your "request" is that the support person genuinely sympathised, and added your ticket to a list of identical requests they've gotten so someone can forward it to the developers, so they can determine exactly how impractical it is to enable server transfers and let the PR guys know it's an issue so they can be tactful when it comes up in announcements and things.

If you're unlucky the support person added your ticket to the list of ones the team laughed about over lunch, to help ease the stress of their job, and it had been completely forgotten about by the end of the day.

Guild Wars 2 allows it. But that's because your entire account is only on one server at a time. You can't transfer a character, you transfer your entire account together. There's also some limitations build into the game to enable that - for example all your characters have to be on one server, you can't spread them around or even have characters on both NA and EU servers (unless you buy a 2nd account) and also character names are game wide. If anyone, anywhere on any server has a name then it's taken across the whole game and no one else can use it.

I suspect it's one of those things where either the server architecture and the game is designed right from the start to allow it, and then it's possible, or it's not and then it's impossible.

daoc transferred all EU chars to US like 10 years ago. I don´t even know why devs don´t setup their architecture that way in the first place.

Server transfers seem to be the golden cash cow if you planned ahead to easily allow the process.

Anything purchased out of the crown store does carry over. That includes the game itself, any upgrades you've gotten at launch with it(Any Race Any Alliance, Imperial Edition), any loyalty rewards you got(the Senche mount, monkey and wraith pets) and Morrowind chapter. That also includes sub, your ESO+ covers both servers.

They're not about to make an exception for you because you spent "over a month" on NA. Go on and just make a new character on EU like a lot of us did.

Side note, if they had magic powers to transfer characters between servers now would be too late to use them. A lot of us have made and leveled (some after spending years on a different server) new characters on a different server now and we would hate to lose them.

I do however think crown store purchases should cover both servers because it's not fair for crowns to deplete on both but things will only be available on one, but what exactly are you expecting to achieve with this thread?

Wordl Of Warcraft have this option, even support can make it, no actualy an automatical system does that, and support only interact with this option when some transfer glich happens, but less then 5 minutes you will have your character transfered to EU realm. And trust me ZOs could already have this improvment ages ago if they weren't so Lazy to even care about transfers, wich will be ofc chraging the player who want to make transfer. It simply takes 3 mouse clicking from the coustumers site, and from ZOS site would take 2 clicking, if they have the system and they have faced some system glitches.
So thats a clear bullsheet what the support mentioned.
The technology is way improved in these days in mmorgps where you can transfer toons from EU to US and vica versa. even WOW have that :D and that game and their support staff is 15 years old now :D So ZOs should give us a break and stop Lieing into our face with those nonsense techincal sheet what you can came up with an excuse about you cant transfer characters from other realms :DD god thats soulds ridiculus, and so cheap :D

ZOs have the technical background knwoledge and the source to do that, they just Dosent gives a sheet about it. wich is a shame.

I'm playing WoW since 2005 on EU realms. I'm 100% sure they don't allow this kind of transfer, and never did. If you want to play on the EU realms, and accidentally bought a US Battle Chest key, they will give you your money as Battle.net currency (if I remember well), but they won't transfer your license from the US realms to the EU realms.

Mostly these type of transfers are not possible because the database servers are physically on different continents, and they are not connected - so a transfer means they have to copy your data, transfer them from the US to Europe (or vica versa) and there copy again.

server transfers will never happen in this game. its literally the same reason cyrodil will never work, and the same reason why so many bugs never seem to leave... Because if zos doesn't have to do it, they wont. Doing something for us costs money. the only way stuff gets fixed is if enough people complain, and if that doesn't work then likely they cant fix it (like cyrodil and lag)... the thing is we still play so why would they even bother to try and make things better? they will just keep squirting out updates and crown crates for the $$.

And this is just my perspective on it since they give us no acknowledgement or info on many issues (like cyrodil and lag). And meanwhile ill sit here on my xbox with 2+years into this game, being unable to play most of the time due to lag, while i own the game on pc where it runs so much better. but i wont restart, maybe ill level a new char on pc but that just adds to the problem.. we find our own way around things, or we deal with it, and nothing ever changes..

oh and this^ too. sad thing is usually they just cant because of some BS restrictions. I lost 2 shields from the sets in VMA when CwC came out. Zos literally changed them into the NEW vma shields.. Support would not return my old shields.. They literally stole stuff from my inventory, replaced it with junk, and then still wont give it back.. They can be such awful, pathetic, people sometimes. However more often than not they're nice and do try to help..

I can understand them not being able to transfer everything across servers etc. I would like to point out though that crowns used to be separate, so my 1,500 crowns from ESO+ went on to EACH server, and were spent separately. If I bought a mount on the EU server, I would still have to buy it on the US server, but no problem, because I would still have my crowns over there. Now, however, any crowns spent on EU server are also deducted from my US account but I only have the item on the server on which I bought them. Either keep the crowns separate or allow crown store purchases to count for both servers. I don't think that's unfair.

Wait, WOW can let you swap servers, is it an limitation on swapping between EU and US?

process of moving an character involves packing up all the data for character and import it on another database.
its an complex task and probably need updates with new features like outfits and housing storage.
i imagine WOW accounts are different between US and EU still the account holds far less data than the character.

Doesn't affect me, but it's a stupid policy and would be reversed if enough people complained about it. Apparently the risk of losing customers/money was deemed to be lower than the time/money required to implement a transfer process.
