How my discussion of Transfer of account over NA and EU servers discussion with ESO support went

For those people who try to contact support because you want to transfer a Character and purchases from the NA server transfers to the EU server this is how your conversation will go. Note this is a real conversation. I hadn't played ESO for a year until I met some friends. I found out that nothing is transfered over servers. Nothing. Its like starting from scratch and you lost everything you paid for. I protected myself and the support person by changing our names but everything has been copied and pasted. Feels like Zenimax just gave me a big "go F*&% yourself". Type agree if you think items purchased like Armor sets, should be accessed by all your characters and throughout both servers!

I met some good friends recently and found out they play ESO but unfortunatly they are playing in the EU servers and I have a character that I spent lots of time (at least a month) and money(150 dollars at least) on in the NA server. Please transfer my character over to the EU servers. So I can play with my friends. If you can't then you need to fix this!!!

If you can't transfer the character over, I don't mind starting a new character as long as I get redeemed the 20,000 crowns I spent, and access to the Grim Harleyquin and the HollowJack armorsets that I had purchased that are available only once a year.

Hey [name], if you understood my frustration then this should be something that should have been fixed a long time ago considering the game has been out for over 3 years now. I know as a person who is in the support department it is out of your power but if you could relay this message to the developers :
"I haven't played ESO for a year, the only reason I subscribed again was to play with these friends, I will unsubscribe now and unload the game. Its not worth the 15 dollars a month if I can't play with my friends. As soon is this is fixed I will resubscribe. I spent a lot of money on this game (easily over $200) with no regrets and would have enjoyed to spend more. This is money out of your pocket. Email me when or if this gets fixed and I will be happy to jump back on."

    I don't know any MMO in which it's possible to transfer characters (and their successes/possessions) between continents... so if you got something on US servers, you have to grab them again on EU servers.

    Why did you think ZOS would make a special case for you? It has never been possible to transfer any crown purchases or character data over to another server (with the exception of the initial console launch), irrespective of how much money you've spent on the game. It probably has something to do with database limitations, or with the potential for item duping. If they had the ability to do server transfers, then trust me: there'd be a crown store purchase option for that, because they'd make a mint off it. The customer service agent was very polite to you -- dunno why you seem to think they were rude or unreasonable.

    Edit: P.S. telling them they're losing a customer who spent "easily over $200" probably won't rattle them too much, considering the whales who've dropped thousands on crown crates alone.

    and yet another error. way to be a *** to support and then expect everyone to sympathize with you.

    You spent considerable time? a month is not considerable. then straight up confrontational with your if you cant do this you need to fix it. And then demanding they compensate you. 20k crowns in 1 month of playing? in the words of south park, i call shenanigans! then you tell them to go F themselves as you will uninstall the game if they wont change their policy.

    That is not how to appeal to support to help you out for something like this. Not even close.

    oh, and you purchased hollowjack? that thing i have 175 pages of in my bank after the event? (and i used 7 full sets) lol. someone has a memory issue

    Purchases should be account bound not locked to server.... Or gems should be made available on both servers.

    While i understand why it is the way it is....originally it’s was just one mega server and then ppl further away wanted their own server. Maybe that was just closed beta tho and they maybe had already planned for NA and eu

    I wonder if they’d never split if it would’ve been better for most longterm.

    You come across as demanding and attempting to strong-arm customer support into giving you what you want.. and you're still doing exactly that with this thread.

    You have no appreciation for the limits these employees have, and yes this includes their developers, or the fairness of the service available (or not) to every single customer.
    Seems like you seem to think the world revolves around you, or at least around your dosh.

    Little hint: People in customer service hate you.

    SWTOR. for all the game's issues, not only accountwide purchases are genuinely accountwide, but you CNA in fact transfer characters between US and EU.

    that said, its the only MMO that I personaly know of. WoW doesn't even have the same client between US and EU, you have to buy the game over, to play on EU realms

    I do understand why server transfers are desired, and how frustrating it must be for people who want to move their account to a different realm. But OP was a little combative in his initial ticket, and I certainly wouldn't go out of my way to help if I received that request.

    I find this a bit confusing that you cannot go from EU to NA.
    Yesterday i had an unable to login message repeatedly occurring so as suggested i looked up ESO recommendations to address this.
    Their advice " if you are still experiencing problems try changing severs from EU to NA"
    Seems to me that a little meeting between those that can is in order to clarify

    that is 100% incorrect. unless something has changed in a last year and a half or so (and I'm not aware that it has) - not only you cannot transfer characters between EU and US, you cannot even create a character on EU server without first buying EU game license.

    now there might be other games besides SWTOR that have separate servers for different regions AND do character transfers between them. I just personaly don't know of them.

    so yeah... now.. there IS a way for ESO purchases to be cross server. my imperial edition is active on both servers. morrowind is active on both servers. my subscription also applies to both servers. even my crown coin balance shows up on both servers. so I'm not entirely sure why the crown purchases at least are NOT cross server. something for ZoS to explain in more detail?

    World of Warcraft does NOT allow you to transfer from US to EU, as the blue dev response in this thread shows. That is false and misleading. This was also the very first response when I Googled the subject.

    OP doesnt realize he can make characters on the EU server.
    You just cant transfer characters and things back and forth.

    I have 13 characters on the NA server and 4 on the EU server that I play when the NA server is down.

    You spent a month leveling a character....lol. Sorry but that is not compelling in the least.
    You can spend another month leveling one on the EU server

    Not being able to transfer crown store purchases or have them apply to both.... I can understand being upset about that.
    My EU characters are paupers compared to my NA ones. It would be nice but not a big deal for me.

    You need to do what the rest of us have had to do... start over I have been playing on Xbox NA since day one I have over 1000 CP money wise on my NA account I have spent over 2000 yes 2000 I have a 2 toons on Xbox EU that I got to CP 600 only thing I spent money on was mount speed and I have started some toons on PC NA as well now we all get it and it suck but all you can do is start over
