@Nemesis7884 "Whales" won't be spending gold, they'll autobuy what suits their fancy with crowns. "Whale" is a internal-marketing term that refers to the people who spend heaps of real money on microtransactions. When offered an in-game method of acquisition and a for-cash instant method, the "Whales" are the people who more-often-than-not choose to spend real money.

Gold-sinks are not for "whales". Gold-sinks are for everyone that makes any gold, to remove gold from the economy in hopes of stabilizing the value of the digital currency that literally springs into existance constantly inside of mummys, wolves and automotons. If you honestly have 6, 10, 12 characters in need of costumes, the estimated MAXIMUM cost of 8(slots assuming 2-weapon characters) x 12(characters) x 2,000(current known expensive motif value) = 192k. If you have enough time to play 12 characters and desire to suit them up, this really is not a high sum of gold. Nothing compared to the gold-sink of housing in terms of per-purchase cost, because it's expected folks will pay out again and again to adjust their look.

This is a great goldsink, because it's drawn from an activity most people enjoy (looking good), is something that will be used repeatedly instead of until-complete (housing), and has an obtainable cost point. I criticize ZOS and trash on the game more than my fair share, but this is a well-crafted goldsink given what is known about it ATM.

I'm not even saying it's expensive anymore. I'm making a point that not everyone has millions wasting away in their bank. This isn't Wall Street Online.

If someone can't spend couple of hours to farm gold to get a desired items(gear, motifs, whatever) should not even play an MMO. End of story. If you are too lazy to get anything in this game why would you even be bothered with these new things? Oh well can't please everyone. They just add and add and fix things in this massive game and then someone always opens a thread that they hate what ZOS did. Go out there and farm. There are tons of ways how you can make gold and they are all so damn easy. Go fish, farm nodes in Craglorn, do daily writs, steal things, craft and sell, buy and resell, refine, jeez endless ways to make gold. First of all quit forum and start playing. When I have no mood to play sometimes just do fishing and Craglorn node farm, happened many times I got 2-3 Perfect Roes from 1 fishing spot. I have even got 4 Nirn from 1 node once.
