So basically, Xbox and PS4 EU are the only people who haven't got a crown sale. Nice to feel appreciated and wanted. :(

i seem to recall a recent thread that said those were on sale while pc werent.

Crown sale on PS4 in the UK has begun. Lasts until 19th January. 50% off largest pack, down to no discount at all on the smallest.

    Happy days

    33% off 5500 pack :/

Oh damn, then I'm out. Maybe in 8 months there will be a better discount.

There won't be. That is the usual discount they always give.

The anniversary event in April had a discount of 50%. People said Black Friday last year was also that low.

    @Jolipinator That's incorrect--the anniversary event had a maximum discount of 40%.

Ever since early 2015 (when I started playing) every crown sale had the exact same price points. It didn't matter if it was Black Friday or a random mid-year sale--the prices were always the same, with the top discount being 40% off of the 5500 pack (39.99 -> 23.99). This current sale is the first time they've had different price points--and the first time there has ever been a 50% discount. And this change was made because of the relatively new 14K and 21K packs.

Honestly, I'm a little perturbed. Zos's crown sales need to be announced prior to the actual sale so individuals like myself can avoid waisting $75 hard earned dollars to buy their already overpriced items, litterally the day before.

Last time there was a sale I accidentally bought 2 packs of 5500 the day before (I thought the sale had already started). I wrote a support ticket and they refunded my money so I could buy them again, on sale. Worth a try?

They're on sale now. PS4 NA had the sale at the time someone originally posted the thread, PS4 EU didn't.

Yeah yeah I get it, its how they make more money, but quite frankly I'm getting tired of it being at our expense. The game is supposed to be for the consumer, right? Why do they continually screw us over with stuff like this then? You put on the yearly events at the same time every year, time to make the crown sales the same times every year, too.

The bolded is incorrect... the game is for the COMPANY and its INVESTORS... it is NOT for the consumer. This is a for-profit business, and as such, it is designed to make money, not give things away. ZOS wants to make as much money as possible and will not allow players to 'save money' for a sale when they can, instead, get them to spend money at full price for Crowns by not pre-announcing a sale.

And you know who pays the company? The consumers. Keep the consumers happy, and more of them will pay. Anger them, and they will leave. Saying that it's for the investors is one of the most vapidly empty sayings out there, because ultimately, it's the consumers who control the purse strings. That's why there's the saying, "The customer is always right."

In any case, a lot of profit-making companies announce sales. To build anticipation/interest/hype. And ESO support has in the past compensated people who bought full-price crowns right before a sale, so they know that a satisfied customer is worth more profit in the long term than getting a 1-off sum that will sour future interactions with the customer.

well, i bought crowns last week full price, now its on sale i loaded up again. are you saying you're going to quit and no longer be a long term customer because you paid "normal" price before a sale? the difference if with a physical product stores need them off their shelves so the company can sell them more. this is digital content, different sales strategy. but effective, just like its SUPPOSED to be

And they still don't get it right.....

If you do crowns per £ then the 14,000 one is still bad value
    21000 @ £54.99 is 382
    14000 @ £44.39 is 315
     5500 @ £16.07 is 342
     3000 @ £10.04 is 299
     1500 @ £ 6.74 is 223

so best clearly the 21K, avoid the 14K like the plague and instead pop for a couple of 5.5K instead
