Hi so I only pvp, I know one of "those" guys but hear me out.

So I HATE pve/crafting and I really HATE grinding. It makes me want to actually harm myself physically. I literally cannot stand it. Back in the days of vet levels I would just delete my characters when they got to level 50 and start new characters to enter the lowbie pvp server again. Now days I play in the No-CP campaign sothra sil. Now there are a few problems that players who only partake in pvp face. The first one is $$$$ we only get paid one time a month, about 40k gold when the campgain ends. This payout really sucks. Now why do we need money you ask? Cause we need gear, upgrading gear, buying gear ect. Which is point number 2. A large number of gear sets in this game HAVE to be grinded and farmed in PVE. I had to use 44 keys to get my skoria shoulders and they got TRAINING trait on them.... I ran ruins of malz 5 times and only got 1 peice of amberplasm with the right trait. I have quit the game before for a few short periods of time, months ect. Because I cannot gear my characters. Even if I do get gear I do not ever have enough money to get it to gold, Hell I can save my gold for 2months of pvp and only be able to gold out 1 peice of gear. Forget that if I have to use gold to buy foods or anything else.

So my big question is, How come I cannot buy all the sets for AP in pvp? It doesn't make the game unbalanced if they just cost a lot of AP then only pvpers could afford them and it would give us something to do that we enjoy rather then grinding and farming and kicking and screaming our way through pve and dungeons over and over. In all my time I have NEVER played a mmo with such a large focus on pvp and still have to pve to get almost 100% of my gear. ESO is by far the best pvp I can find in a MMORPG so it really sucks I cannot even gear a single character out cause the sets that are anywhere near optimal are out of my reach in pve.

I have been playing a magblade and nothing else for almost 2 years now, it is the only character I managed to get some what decent gear for so depsite having other characters they are all useless with no gear.

I'm with you on hating grinding.

As for 'wrong' traits, don't you get better transmog rates in PvP?
Tenesi Faryon of Telvanni - Dunmer Sorceress who deliberately sought sacrifice into Cold Harbor to rescue her beloved.
Hisa Ni Caemaire - Altmer Sorceress, member of the Order Draconis and Adept of the House of Dibella.
Broken Branch Toothmaul - goblin (for my goblin characters, I use either orsimer or bosmer templates) Templar, member of the Order Draconis and persistently unskilled pickpocket
Mol gro Durga - Orsimer Socerer/Battlemage who died the first time when the Nibenay Valley chapterhouse of the Order Draconis was destroyed, then went back to Cold Harbor to rescue his second/partner who was still captive. He overestimated his resistance to the hopelessness of Oblivion, about to give up, and looked up to see the golden glow of atherius surrounding a beautiful young woman who extended her hand to him and said "I can help you". He carried Fianna Kingsley out of Cold Harbor on his shoulder. He carried Alvard Stower under one arm. He also irritated the Prophet who had intended the portal for only Mol and Lyris.
    ***
Order Draconis - well c'mon there has to be some explanation for all those dragon tattoos.
House of Dibella - If you have ever seen or read "Memoirs of a Geisha" that's just the beginning...
Nibenay Valley Chapterhouse - Where now stands only desolate ground and a dolmen there once was a thriving community supporting one of the major chapterhouses of the Order Draconis

I should also throw in that Dueling also has no rewards. When dueling came out I stopped everything and did nothing but duel for about 8 months.

Even if you win 10000000 duels and beat players with over x2 your CP you still get nothing for it at the end of the day. No gold. No Ap. No gear. Nothing.

Only recently has that system been added to the game. For a large portion of this games history if your traits are wrong you have been screwed. Not to mention the need to buy clockwork city to be able to use them as far as I know.

This is by design, it would be so easy to exploit otherwise, currently its for fun and for training.
Dueling against an mentor should be the most effective way to train your 1x1 pvp skill.
Having the option for set battles in the battleground would serve the same purpose
Grinding just make you go in circles.
Asking ZoS for nerfs is as stupid as asking for close air support from the death star.

Use your AP to buy motif pages. Sell motif pages. Use the money to buy things. 3 steps to get many of the things you want, but you won't even have to touch pve to do it. If you want pve specific sets, then go get them. If you insist on suggesting they be available in pvp then by all means make the suggestion that all pvp related items also be available in pve including, pvp gear sets, transmutation stones (at a reasonable rate), alliance war skills and even pvp ranking and leaderboard rewards. Until you're willing to offer all these things to pve players, you will get no sympathy from me for not being able to go farm a few pve sets that are easily transmutable now.

That is good to know! but it still doesn't help pvpers get pve sets like amberplasm for instance.

If everyone on these forums has your attitude to jump to conclusions and assume they are being attacked personally at random times then it is very likely these forums will yield nothing beneficial to the players or developers who can make changes.

They do, its wholly unproductive here in forum land, I only come here when I'm PvE'n (i.e. fishing, mat farming, grinding some crap)...well said BTW, c u n cyrodill.

One of the concerns I have about this is that Amber Plasm is a DLC-Dungeon set and if it's available in PvP via Alliance points, does that not then degrade the value of the DLC? Or would it be a case of needing to own the DLC/ESO+ to be able to purchase? What about the pricing costs of this? Would it be more than the already available sets in PvP because you're choosing to avoid the (currently) correct way of obtaining it?

I would be fine if it costed more AP and you still needed the DLC.

Being able to obtain it at all would be great.

This is the only mmo I have played that has had a big pvp battle field, another pvp area for smaller scale pvp, dueling, and battlegrounds that does not offer all of the sets allowed in pvp to be bought or earned through pvp.

In games like guild wars 2, when you enter a PVP area you can simply set your sets and abilitys and gear and go into pvp, doesn't matter if you are level 1 or max level its a pure even game between everyone because you just go down a list and set what you want it to be, and when you leave pvp area or stop pvping your stuff is simply set back to how it normally would be.

I do not see why this couldn't be done for ESO.

You mean, fix the game to make it more fun for you.
A lot of players do find hunting gear sets and a mix of PvE/PvP to be tremendous fun. And while you may hate it, grind is a part of any MMO. You can't just go buy set pieces from dungeons in PvE, why should it be diffrent for PvP? If the goal is worth it enough for you, you'll do what is necessary to achieve it. You may not like it, but you'd do it. This post just seems like you're trying to get something of value without having to do the necessary work to gain it. You can't buy dungeon sets for gold, why should you buy them for AP?
I play PvP as well as PvE. If you choose to only play one side of the coin, that's up to you. Just know you're missing out by your choice. It's a useless comparison to put ESO against other games. If they all work the same, what's the point of playing?

It could even be an RNG based drop box like the current region based boxes that we can purchase with AP which drop a random overland set piece from that region. Just add more boxes for each group dungeon and trial. VMA and DSA items should be put in top tier end of campaign rewards to maintain their exclusivity.

If you only PvP, don't you get a ton of AP that you can use to buy motif pages to sell? Akaviri and Militant Ordinator cost a ton of AP and a lot of crafters would pay good money for them.

As for Amberplasm, isn't that one of the sets that the Cyrodiil Vendor will eventually have gold jewelry for? That would get you 3 of the pieces with a good trait and the best quality you can get, all for AP.

After that, I'm sure you can easily farm 2 other pieces from Mazz, and they won't kill you if they are not ideal traits (not to mention you should be able to retrait them fairly easily with the transmute stones you get from rewards).

If you really dislike the feeling that you "have to" do something in the game, then don't do that thing and live with it. You can PvP without FoTM sets. You are just convincing yourself that you can't.

    1) If they made PVE sets purchaseable in PVP (with exception of The Golden), many people wouldn't buy their DLCs. 2) Much of this is a moot point now with transmutation.

This discussion was had so many times about grinding for the "right trait" gear, by both PVP and PVE people, that ZOS implemented the trans system. Now it sucks less. lol

Amberplasm could potentially appear in the Golden vendor, that is true, but in almost 2 years it has not appeared, and if it does it will be either rings or necklace, not both at the same time. I myself am currently looking for spell power cure jewelry which has also never dropped in almost two years. Not saying I've been waiting 2 years for it, just saying that waiting for a set to appear in the Golden vendor is not a reliable way to get set pieces. It would be like catching one fish once every week, hoping for a perfect ROE. It could happen, but don't expect it to happen quickly.

Bye Felicia. While I also hate grinding, Im here because I love the ES franchise. True, drop rates of desired traits could be a little better, but MMO=grind no matter what game you play. And if you dont want to put in the PVE/crafting grinds, (grind out gear, gete provisioning and crafting passives up for the cooldown and longevity passives) then your PvP toon is gonna be garbage.

Outside of that, the only thing I can tell you is to play single player games that have DEV cheats to them so you dont have to grind anything. I dont know of a single MMO worth playing that doesnt have some kind of grind to it. It's that simple really.

Normally I look at posts of people crying about this kind of thing as just trolling or being a drama queen but you honestly dont seem to understand the fact that MMO's= grindfest or no one would continue to play them due to extreme boredom after a couple of months.

    Honestly hope that helps.

It's not about fotm it's about players being able to make their own builds without being stuck to the normally underwhelming cyrodil sets.

It's about making gear more availible to players through means of earning the gear in a way more traditional to most games. It's not giving the gear to anyone for free they would still need to earn it, this way they can earn it in a way they enjoy which can only help the game!

I have been playing a magblade and nothing else for almost 2 years now, it is the only character I managed to get some what decent gear for so depsite having other characters they are all useless with no gear.

while I only play PVE and almost no PVP, I am with you - there should definitely be an option for you PVPers to buy your sets for AP or Telvar stones!! The price should be high enough, so that only real PVPers should be able to afford it!

When ever I see someone posting a complain saying the game shoud be changed to their likings, I just roll my eyes. Be it single player crowd, pvp, or group crowd. You come to this game, you adapt to this game, you dont make demands that it should be changed to your playstyle.

Nobody has made any demands, I urge you to reread the threat and make more intelligent and productive posts

Not all players will find the same mindless tasks fun, some players will play anything set out before them and if a developer takes your attitude then their game is sure to die, mmos try to focus on many different playstyles and what has been proposed hurts nobody's playstyles in any way.

All games should be compared cause competition is what drives people to create somthing better!
