I'm all for a new free zone. An open world pvp quest zone. Something that would never happen in a dlc because pvp would complain about questing and pve would complain about having to pvp. A zone where anyone could crush bot trains. A zone without arrows or circles to tell you exactly where the quest location is. A big game hunters zone. A zone that could be thrown together by skyrim mod makers for free. A zone that would empty all other zones because everyone wants to get in on the royal rumble.

Ooooh! Then I'd have all those other zones to myself! Think of the resources I could gather since there's no way in hell I want to be ContentFodder for anyone.

Making your way in the world today takes everything you've got.
Taking a break from all your worries, sure would help a lot.
Wouldn't you like to get away?
Sometimes you want to go
Where everybody knows your name,
and they're always glad you came.
You wanna be where you can see,
our troubles are all the same
You wanna be where everybody knows
Your name.
You wanna go where people know,
people are all the same,
You wanna go where everybody knows
your name.
You wanna go where people know,
people are all the same,
You wanna go where everybody knows
your name.

You go to all those zones you have to yourself grinding resources when you can go to a zone where everybody knows your name and they're always glad you came.

Ah. Well, no thanks cos as I said, I've no interest in being PvP fodder.Didn't pay to be someone else's "content".
Not a bad idea in the main though, I know a lot of folks would enjoy such a zone.

The good old days during wow vanilla when there were open pvp servers and no quest circles or arrows. You were others peoples content but they were also yours. You duck and dodge through the woods trying to avoid being ganked by a lvl 60 then you have to cross the road and a lvl 60 cruises along and one shots you and you respawn and run back. Adds more depth to questing when the bogey man can jump out from behind a tree at any moment. But there were also pve servers of course. Just want to relive one of the greatest periods in mmos.

I remember those servers and how much yowling, complaining about balance, about gankers and roving bands of high levels who would, effectively, take over entire zones.
Lenses...sometimes rose coloured.
Frankly, I have enough challenge in RL that I don't need it in a game but YMMV. I game to relax and unwind.

Quality over quantity. Never heard of it. Might have to look into it. Thanks for the mention.

There was a beta period this past weekend for PS4. It's got slow mythical action based combat, but unlike the guy you quoted who thinks its MMO material it's really more similar to a dungeon crawler with 4 friends either online or offline. You all fight the boss together and over come different mechanics as a group. The mechanics aren't static. For example: when I did a 2-man group with a boss, we chased it into a swamp with a ramp and wall. I jumped onto the creatures head, smacking it with attacks, it charged into a wall in an attempt to get me off. So I jumped onto its tail to avoid taking damage and getting stunned. Things like that.
Then I cut its tail off.
