Monster Hunter isn't an MMO. It's much smaller than an MMO and has far less content than an MMO.

Quality over quantity. It's an MMO in a sense that you play with players all over the world, meet up with them and socialize in lobbies, etc. There's a ton to do in Monster Hunter games, and although the quest log isn't nearly as extensive, the amount of enjoyment you acquire from them far exceeds that of a typical MMO.

I'm all for a new free zone. An open world pvp quest zone. Something that would never happen in a dlc because pvp would complain about questing and pve would complain about having to pvp. A zone where anyone could crush bot trains. A zone without arrows or circles to tell you exactly where the quest location is. A big game hunters zone. A zone that could be thrown together by skyrim mod makers for free. A zone that would empty all other zones because everyone wants to get in on the royal rumble.

Wouldn't you like to get away?

You wanna be where you can see,

You wanna be where everybody knows

I'd like to add a question for the OP. Can I come to your place of employment and get the product/service sold there for free? That would be really nice.

The good old days during wow vanilla when there were open pvp servers and no quest circles or arrows. You were others peoples content but they were also yours. You duck and dodge through the woods trying to avoid being ganked by a lvl 60 then you have to cross the road and a lvl 60 cruises along and one shots you and you respawn and run back. Adds more depth to questing when the bogey man can jump out from behind a tree at any moment. But there were also pve servers of course. Just want to relive one of the greatest periods in mmos.

There was a beta period this past weekend for PS4. It's got slow mythical action based combat, but unlike the guy you quoted who thinks its MMO material it's really more similar to a dungeon crawler with 4 friends either online or offline. You all fight the boss together and over come different mechanics as a group. The mechanics aren't static. For example: when I did a 2-man group with a boss, we chased it into a swamp with a ramp and wall. I jumped onto the creatures head, smacking it with attacks, it charged into a wall in an attempt to get me off. So I jumped onto its tail to avoid taking damage and getting stunned. Things like that.

Then I cut its tail off.

No. Game ALWAYS had REQUIRED sub until they changed it and added crown store after a month of ignoring everyone asking what was going on.

Subscription became optional as in you could stop paying AFTER craglorn.

Free new content wouldn't come via new zones, dungeons, trials or quests. It would only come in the same sort of way that poisons were introduced into Alchemy, or new crafting materials to line up with gear cap increases or new skills, crafts, etc.

We have just had transmutation for trait changing, that was free - as in you do not need to buy ant DLC to access it. I think that transmography is in the pipeworks - for style changes to gear/weapons.

ZOS need to pay wages and providing free stuff does not pay the bills.

Now, now, don't be talking down the Rosy Lion...it's a lovely place!!
Tenesi Faryon of Telvanni - Dunmer Sorceress who deliberately sought sacrifice into Cold Harbor to rescue her beloved.
Hisa Ni Caemaire - Altmer Sorceress, member of the Order Draconis and Adept of the House of Dibella.
Broken Branch Toothmaul - goblin (for my goblin characters, I use either orsimer or bosmer templates) Templar, member of the Order Draconis and persistently unskilled pickpocket
Mol gro Durga - Orsimer Socerer/Battlemage who died the first time when the Nibenay Valley chapterhouse of the Order Draconis was destroyed, then went back to Cold Harbor to rescue his second/partner who was still captive. He overestimated his resistance to the hopelessness of Oblivion, about to give up, and looked up to see the golden glow of atherius surrounding a beautiful young woman who extended her hand to him and said "I can help you". He carried Fianna Kingsley out of Cold Harbor on his shoulder. He carried Alvard Stower under one arm. He also irritated the Prophet who had intended the portal for only Mol and Lyris.

Order Draconis - well c'mon there has to be some explanation for all those dragon tattoos.
House of Dibella - If you have ever seen or read "Memoirs of a Geisha" that's just the beginning...
Nibenay Valley Chapterhouse - Where now stands only desolate ground and a dolmen there once was a thriving community supporting one of the major chapterhouses of the Order Draconis
