Yeah but if they made something new for free once in a while it wouldn't hurt.

When the yarn balls they start to rain from the sky, the rivers run with fine wine, The Rosy Lion turns into a fine dining restaurant and the town guards all retire.

Then and only then will Khajiit be booking her boat ticket to this free zone.

Yeah general game improvement but that shouldn't be praised, that should be normal. You mean the motifs and armor sets which you can only get in the dlc zone? Or you can buy them but they are really expensive.

I don't know if other people will agree, but I think zos charge a very fair price for the DLC zones. While some (maybe most) things in the Crown store do seem overpriced, the dlc is a bargain for all that it adds to the game... the dlc dungeons less so perhaps.

Um...let's imagine you're a developer/designer/artist/tester/whatever working for Zenimax Online Studios. Your question then transforms into the following: would you like to work for free for a few months?

Side note, I wish the game'd stayed p2p and we could just pay monthly for full game access and "free" updates. Then there'd also be an incentive for them to fix things already ingame instead of focusing on new content only. But it is what it is, I don't see any logic whatsoever in them making a free dlc with b2p model.

Craglorn was made then game had subscription,
Grinding just make you go in circles.
Asking ZoS for nerfs is as stupid as asking for close air support from the death star.

Wasn’t that when it was still subscription only? So it’s pretty much the same as getting ESO+ now. There’s no way in hell they’d ever do that today. Though compared to how ridiculously greedy they are now, I’m still surprised Craglorn was free even considering the mandatory sub.

we are still receiving many zones under tha same model right now. Clockwork city is technically "free" as it is free for ESO+ members.

Or we realise that B2P MMOs don't run on air. There's a free yearly update with a significant system overhaul (one tamriel, housing, etc), likely transmutation of gear looks this year.

Right but those are total game changers. It would be stupid and pointless to have players pay for that kind of stuff. And I didn't say every DLC needs to be free. Maybe for some sort of an anniversary or something like that.

game changers that take a lot of money and time to develop, that could be used for something else. So essentially if there are 4 updates in a year and they spend 1 update on free for everyone stuff, that means that they're already dedicating 3 months worth of work to stuff they won't be paid for. I do not think that increasing that to 6 months a year (half a year) is in any way realistic.

Most people who have DLCs are subscribed anyway right? So even if they release 2 DLCs instead of 3 they still get the same. And they also make money from the crown store. If you make the game bigger maybe you can get more new players to buy the base game.

I thought they were pretty clear that service and enhancement upgrades to the game would be free, but new content would not. I have that stuck in my head from somewhere and they’ve been consistent with that content distribution.

DLCs are cheap, and don't get me wrong, but if someone can't get $20 to buy a DLC, maybe not the same day it's released, but at least some weeks or months after, he/she shouldn't be playing video games as it'd be clear priorities should be some place else, not in TESO.

I don't know if that's true. I prefer buying DLCs and I know few people who do the same. I also know some who subscribe. I can't really say if they are majority. From people I know it looks more like 50-50. Obviously I don't have access to server-wide statistics so it might be just coincidence.
