What's the point of not dying?

Less dying, more dueling, MAXIMUM EFFICIENCY

This is great when a great player comes up against a good one and sort of teach/ teases his opponent
When you realise your not the great one it actually relieves a lot of pressure and so the learning starts

I think dueling is a great way to improve. I think recording yourself and breaking down footage of fights is the another amazing method for improving though since you can more easily identify mistakes from outside of a pressure situation and adjust your whole thought process.
When I started recording myself I went from a slightly above average Zergling to a competent, dangerous player

Teaching you details of how your class should fight against theirs, and then giving you opportunities to put those lessons into practice in order to survive and attempt kills on them over an extended fight.
It's a pretty second nature teaching method, and very effective, but tonight @tisserrand coined the perfect name.
Spicy.
Getting better gear is also quite effective method.

In my experience, this is a very good start to learn the basics, but to truly shine in open world, one must go and fight alone, relying on nobody but himself. Only then one can learn to truly adapt to every situation.

You know; that’s a good point. I haven’t done that sort of thing since years ago when I got my butt kicked in an Armored Core tournament. Finished last. Started practicing and recording with a VCR attached to a PS1 and the one game, not sure if it was Phantasm or Masters of Arena where you could crank AI up. Went back and took 2nd. Got pretty burnt out though

The moment you let ego take over and decide you're the best at something is the moment you stop improving.
Then the ambitious person with a positive and humble attitude surpasses you, and your world comes crumbling down.
How many times have we seen this happen both in this game and irl?

You've not seen me claim that. Don't come in here trying to start more drama, Alfy.
Hah. It is a fitting name.
I use this with my wife... she hates it.
But, it is undeniably effective at teaching. The problem is it only works if one player is significantly more skilled on their character. I set my wife up with a nightblade with an identical build to my nightblade... after she complained about the build, I started doing this with her to show her that the problem was her, not the build. She improved very quickly but it is hard to keep her motivated to keep doing it because it is very humbling, despite improving.
