Vampire

Scion of the Blood Matron: You will no longer receive the Vampire skill line if you choose to get cured.

Werewolf

Hircine's Gift: You will no longer receive the Werewolf skill line if you choose to get cured.

Um.... what does that mean, exactly? For instance, if you choose to be cured but then later take vampirism or lycanthropy again your skill is at the same level as when you chose to get cured. Is this still the case? What exactly does this do/not do? @ZOS_GinaBruno ?

No, this means (as it says above), that you won't be able to be a Vampire or Werewolf again.... ever (on that character).

    This can't be right.

It used to still award you the skill line even if you never went through the starter missions, but got cured instead. I assume it just won't do that now and if you get bit/scratched at another time and do the missions rather than get cured you will get the skill line then.

It is listed as a fix in the Quests section

The two mentioned quests are the ones provided if you get bitten by an NPC
    http://en.uesp.net/wiki/Online:Scion_of_the_Blood_Matron
    http://en.uesp.net/wiki/Online:Hircine's_Gift

    At a guess,
if choosing to cure yourself rather than complete the quest it was bugging out and completing the quest anyway

If you have a bite available on PC/NA I could cure my character and test it
certainly would not mind joining your bloodline at the bonus of checking for the greater good ;)

.... I'm going to let this speak for itself with how wrong it is.

There was a bug until today where, for whatever reason, curing yourself of Vamp/WW actually gave you the skill-line again (whether only visually, or a infinite loop of unable to cure I don't know). But obviously that was kind of silly, so they've now fixed that bug.

Of course you can still become a Vamp/WW again after curing, that's going nowhere.

Never knew this was a thing, but let me guess, this is all they did for WWs and Vamps?

LOL, but still available through the Crown store! ZoS wouldn't go THAT far.

Some time ago I got attacked by a WW and only noticed I had been infected some time later. Since I didn't want it at the time I went to the priest fellow to get a cure. Upon completing it, the quest prompt stated I had acquired the WW skill line, however I had not for obvious reasons. I imagine this is what they mean.

No interest in WW condition on a magSorc. Had already maxed it on that character anyway. It's funny though as a fan of vampires I have yet to find a special bloodfiend. However WWs I have seen several times.

So when you get bitten, you get the starter quest that initially has a choice: go along with it or seek a cure. Most people don't notice that the quest that they get has a "Complete one of the following" clause since they virtually always choose to go through with it (it's why you sought out a bite!)

You are supposed to get the skill line only if you complete the quest by going through with it. But it was bugged and awarding the skill line regardless of how you complete the intro quest--even if you opted for the cure option.

If you're PCNA, send me a PM should you need a vamp bite :)

On topic, sounds like (as others said) they just stopped you getting the quest/skill line if you cured, which sound much more like a bug fix.
