Hi, i'm a player with some good chars very well equipped that would like to do the Dragonstar Arena to get the set Robes of Destruction Mastery and get any of the Master's Inferno / Lightning Staff.

Problem is... i have no friends... :(

What are my options or what can i do?

Look for some casual guilds which do dungeons and trials. There are many with no commitments and offer you the chance to ask for others to group with content.

Try asking in zone chat for a group who want to run it, you might be able to build a pick up group that way.

There is also a looking for group section on these forums where you could try to build a group of willing people.

It’s actially not that bad compared to some of the newer DLC dungeons—assuming you’re just clearing and not pushing for a high score. It is long, though.

Just shout in Craglorn to get a group going. Also, and AGAIN, we need better social tools for organizing things like this in game.

    Edit: assumed nDSA.

For vDSA, where you'll get your master weaps, ask for a pve guild in zone! A lot of these guilds are progression guilds, meaning they'll help you out when learning more difficult content.

I'm on the same situation. I've only done normal, but I've read guides for vet and would totally be up for trying one day. Problem for me is that most people don't take non experienced players. Lately people just do it to get the weapons real fast and leave, and don't want to explain tactics or people who have never done vet. I've done all content except vMoL, vHoF and vAS.

If you're EU PC, I would be up for trying it out.

    Make some friends.

Okay, joking aside, the basic advice to find a guild is good, and that is a fantastic way to actually make some friends who play.

I found zone chat in Craglorn to be OK if you just want to do it spur of the moment. Managed to get a group together in about 15 mins or so over the weekend. Most of the time someone has TS/Discord as well and that really helps.

If it's your first time doing vDSA, a great guide (IMHO) can be found here:

    http://www.latenighteso.com/the-guide-to-veteran-dragonstar-arena/

The videos are really handy, and detailed stage info good as a checklist.

Joining a PVE guild is the best way. They train people in the harder content.

You should be able to buy Destruction Mastery for relatively cheap in guild stores, no? I don't remember it being BoP...

Not that that solves your main problem, but the usual "find a guild" advice has already been suggested.

You can easily duo normal dsa (maybe even solo) if its just destruction mastery you are after(or traders) for weapons though... I had the same problem and just ran it twice this weekend. One group I built using the forum lfg thread, one i hopped into a guildies run.

I just want to clear the Dragonstar Arena on Hard for the Dye.

But I simply cannot find anyone who wants to run it.

Maybe if they'd add the damn thing to the Dungeon Finder, I might finally be able to get this done...

This. Though I'd suggest looking within a guild. Probably a more friendly experience.

The Good News, there seems to be a resurgence of people wanting to run VDSA. I finally deconed all my CP130-140 master weapons and made a push a few weeks ago to re-farm everything, now that we can trait change. The Crystal Frag nerf also has a lot of sorcs looking for the Master inferno so they can run clench.

The Bad News, VDSA runs from zone chat are the worst nightmare imaginable. I would say you have a very small chance to clear vet with a complete pickup group, and you will likely be in there for hours.

It's been said, but you need to find a decent PVE guild. As long as you have passable DPS, a solid tank, and somebody that can make calls, VDSA really isnt that hard. But even really high DPS with no communication or coordination are going to struggle hard in there.

DSA armor & weapon sets are BoE so they can be bought and sold on guild stores. They also drop in nDSA which is easy to farm. Veteran mode difficulty - where the master weapons drop - is about the same as newer DLC dungeons but much longer. It takes about an hour with a reasonably experienced group. Ideally you should run with tank + 3 DD, one of which off-heals: Magicka Sorcerer with matriarch pet, magicka NB and Templar are best suited for that role but everybody, especially the tank must be mostly self sustaining. Especially at the last boss the tank must take at least 2 and up to 4 mini-bosses away and keep them from attacking the DDs while they kill the boss. With 3 good DDs you can actually skip the 2nd add spawn and just burn trough.

I would never recommend going healerless for people looking to get their first clear.

Once your group is experienced enough to not wipe, then I would recommend dropping the healer.

No, it has to be vet. You could get Destruction Mastery in normal, though the jewelry would be in blue.

You /used/ to be able to get weapons in normal that were one level below the cap at the time (vr13/cp130 vs the vr14/cp140 you'd get from vet), but that hasn't been the case since they updated all the dungeons and trials. So anywhere saying that has outdated information.

I actually found it much easier. With healer fights went on for so long I was always left gasping for resources tanking a huge amount of adds in most stages. The slaver one was awful with chain guys left and right. Last 3 runs were with 3 DDs and took an hour instead of 2-3 like my 2 DD + healer ones, and with fewer deaths & wipes.

Only if someone holds the instance open by being there, grouped and logged in. If all four players exit the instance one way or another (logging off or porting elsewhere) it'll reset.
