How do you sustain these builds...?

Been trying to work with some of these sorc builds i see from Alcast. He is only hitting 32k in his videos on the target dummy... while i hit a max of 24k.
(I feel like that's pretty decent still considering i most likely mess up the rotations)

I'm using the gear setup 2 build with necro and julianos currently and cannot even come close to keeping resources. The only way i can keep up for the 3mil dummy is to use potions and use elemental drain.

I also tried using one i found on the forums... sorc double pet build. I used an Aether set instead of moon dancer... but my dps is WAY off of this one. I barely break 20k while this person pushes 40k??

and yeah i know.... git gud. but really, real suggestions would be great!

This part pretty mch answers your question. If you don't do anything for your ressource management, don't expect to stay on full magicka.
Also increasing you DPS will result in better sustain, because the fight will be shorter.

Yeah you really need to parse with someone putting ele drain on the dummy for you - or you putting it on yourself in your rotation.

That and using spell power potions, as just about every other parse score you compare yours to will have used spell power potions on cooldown.

That and throwing in a heavy attack every couple rotations seems to be the norm for magic classes... I know magDKs still use lightning wall for power lash procs, and magplars have someone throwing them bubbles to pop to get some magic back from the undaunted synergy passive..

basically, sustain is really *** now and you have to adjust even to solo parse. It's rather unfortunate.

For a dps parse with a magicka build char Eledrain + best crafted pots on cooldowns is presumed. For the best test conditions let do the Eledrain from someone else.

Some even get bubbles provided, but I would not count on bubbles in a trial. The synergy is wonky to activate at moment and sometimes you just aren't in the bubble freeway or healers have not the time to support with bubbles. It's not something you can trust that it is always available when you need it.

Another exception are magDKs who let provide someone Lightning walls for Power lash procs.

I can break 20k with all my mag builds... but stam i can push 30k with no hassle or outside help at all.

Thank you for the responses... but i think i'll just stick to stam toons i guess until they fix this garbage. Unlike 9 months ago when the roles were reversed. you couldnt even get a stam toon in a trial.
Apparently its just SUPER tough to make things even a little bit equal.
