Major graphics bug: strange ripple effect on the ground...

logged in after the recent patch and now have this graphics bug - a bright multicoloured moving ripple effect across the ground - it's related to the rain effect only.

I don't know about this, but I do know that sometimes when you wayshrine to an area, the ground texture disappears and suddenly looks like mud. I've noticed this happening frequently at the Windy Glade (Vulkhel Guard dolemen) when I was farming dolemens.

Mac user here too, logged in after patch and found weird animation patterns on the ground, I assume would have normally looked like rain drops splashing etc.
Might be a issue related to Mac only. Probably. Fingers and toes crossed it gets sorted. Time to recover my gaming pc I'd 'lent' to my daughter some time ago.

Definitely appears to be connected to the animation of rain fall. The ground resembles a 1970's disco dance floor! Saturday night fever is live and kicking in Tamriel. Currently in Cyrodiil, was fine until it began to rain, inside a tower it's fine, looking out... the ground surface is as previously described. Horrible.

I have color-changing when switching screens to check on my browser for example. Its like a second of rainbow colors on my screen somehow...

Mac EU user (10.11.6 with AMD Radeon R9 M380 2048MB) reporting in for strange rainbow disco ripples on all the ground textures (and some water textures) as soon as it started raining in game at Wayrest, immediately after November 6th maintenance and update (never seen this before in the years i've played.)

The weird effect above stopped once it was done raining in Wayrest and starts up again when it starts to rain again.
Now i'm not saying it's the rainfall, but it's totally something to do with the rainfall after this maintenance update.

Mine are getting worse when it is raining. Its very hard to play the game with these ripples..

I can confirm that the graphical error occurs only when there's rain effect. Seems only Mac users are affected.

Would be great if ZOS devs or admin could acknowledge/confirm this issue

Hi! I am on a Mac as well. I am getting very strange "disco" type moving lines.







It is hard to convey, but the lines are cycling along from one edge to the opposite.

Ran a quick repair and all fine now.

Not sure about the MAC but on the PC things like that are often solved by deleting the cooked shader cache file before starting ESO.

I do this after every major patch, just to be sure ...

This is good advice actually.

Also fixes the black screen after launching the game. You can log in and even play the game, but the screen is completely black!

I just had the same issue on my iMac Nvidia GeForce 750M (OS X 10.12.6) and MacBook Retina Nvidia GeForce 650M (OS X 10.13.1), but doing a repair through the launcher seems to have fixed it.

Don't worry, these ripple effects are just small little tremors that announce my arrival...i appologise my power level of 9000 starts to affecting gravity

I get this too. Seems to be an issue when it is raining or snowing in the game. Annoying because it follows your character.

Edit: And it doesn't happen on any ground where the rain or snow doesn't hit.

Im getting it at all times no rain/snow effects required. Just seems to be related to "sun" light. Repair did not help me.

Hhhmmmm, maybe shadows might be affected as well. For me only happens with rain and snow. Rain is the ripples and waves of rainbow lol. Snow shows up as Christmas lights blinking.

Theres also a thread on this in bug reports so it'd probably be a good idea for people to go there and add screen shots+OS version+graphics cards etc.
