The ESO+ cult

What is the deal? I asked in zone chat in the Gold Coast what to do with transmute crystals since I don't have Clockwork city and suddenly someone is like 'first off how are you here?' The gold coast has nothing to do with Clockwork City.

Then after me and someone else explain to them that DLCs can be bought for good, I get ganged up on for not being a ESO + member. I knew better than to say I couldn't afford it, so I just told them I didn't want to, which is still the truth. But they just wouldn't shut up about the bonuses of ESO+, I told them numerous times I am not interested, I knew what ESO+ is, I KNOW what it gives, but more and more ESO+ fanboys showed up and harassed me. Is this normal or was I just unlucky?

In the end I found it funny they're trying so hard, but it's also a little annoying, they acted like I was playing the game wrong which is something that really pisses me off. It's my copy of the game, I bought it, I'll do what I want with it.

I would just say most people realize that ESO+ is not necessary at all.

People are toxic as can be on ESO these days, so elitist, so salty. A vocal portion of the community has a very "Any way other than my way is wrong" attitude.

Ignore them, how you play is nobody's business but your own. Being able to not sub and still get the MMO experience and any content you want is one of ESO's strengths.

I say this as an ESO+ sub, knowing that some parts of ESO *might* be better off if it had stayed sub only.

Report them for harassment if that is how you felt bro. I'm CP660 and a non eso+ member and I still manage to enjoy the game. Personally I prefer to buy my dlc so I have them forever, you have to keep your eso+ to keep them dlcs which I dislike. The craft bag is very handy and there are times I wish I had it, but at the same time, I am surviving without it. Costume dying is wasted on me as I hate costumes. x2 bankspace is attractive but again, I am surviving as I keep all my crafting mats in there. I keep all my decent weapons and armour on me, and travel light. the bonus xp is wasted on me too as I refuse to make alts. I don't want to because I like my Nightblade. The only thing I would love eso+ for is to have double furnishing space for my house, so I can add more detail. Ive managed to make it look dead nice without, and it is detailed enough with a few spaces for those finishing touches so again, ive survived.

In the end, eso+ doesn't benefit me. So don't worry if a bunch of elitist players say anything. Report them if you feel bothered by their behaviour. I'm on xb1 eu if you fancy joining my guild to check out the guild hall. My GT is Chrysa1is. You do you bro, and just ignore them

Except that ESO+ Is the best value for money of any product on the crown store, except maybe the Adventurer Pack. Not "picking on you" or "ganging up on you", but those people in zone chat were probably right and giving you valid information, you dont have to react poorly to it.

With people, like that, they just can't be "reasoned" with. Better to put them on ignore and forget about them.

I have purchased all the DLC and haven't subbed since the B2P model came around. I have 750 something CP, and don't feel the need to sub like you.

There are some nice things with ESO plus, but sometimes I take breaks for a while. And I don't want to pay for something I am not using.

Side note, I heard that if you are in a guild that has a transmutation station at a guild hall, that you can still use those. Not 100 percent sure though.

Yeah one guy was nice enough to whisper me, probably to stand out from the ESO+ spamboys and told me if a guild hall has one I can use it. So I did get my original question answered nicely by one fella.

And yeah just as you I take breaks, play other games, do IRL stuff, I don't want the pressure of wasted money. But I didn't dare mention money because then all the 'get to work' people would come out.

Guilds start to get the transmute stations, seen trade guilds include in the recruiting posts.
That ansver that to do with the crystals without eso+, note you can only store 100 so you should not open large geodes

Lol, no offence, but grow thicker skin, as said it is your game and play how you want, but most people IMO would just get on with it, you let them get under your skin.

Sounds like people cared enough for the game to get someone else to contribute more to the game in general, hardly harassment.

I would have more sympathy for you if you did not label everyone in a derogatory fashion, including myself who subs to be a fanboy, maybe they had some fun at your expense, maybe you were rude to them in your own comments back, as clearly you kept replying to them in zone or wherever, but do not label all of us who actually contribute more to the game as fanboys, some of us have been here since the closed beta days of 2013, we fan boys too?

Your OP just comes across as whiney and heavily edited to make you appear in a favourable light, you could have just hmmm ignored them and went on your travels, but you continued talking to them also, not saying they were in the right, but you were not either.

I don’t even really like this game ... all nerfs, no ah, crappy housing... I could go on ...

HOWEVER the game would be damn near unplayable without the craft bag, the 1500 crowns a month are useful, and the 10% research time reduction is decent... furthermore there’s access to the dlcs and the Double bank is really nice.

IF I didn’t have the stuff I get with the sub the game would be miserable and I wouldn’t play at all ...

So for now I’m passing time til a good game comes out and the $10/month or whatever makes this one somewhat playable SO pay up and stop being a cheap [snip].

You can actually buy or use a friends transumate stations. Some guilds have one too. They are for changing traits to items.

One ESO+ account and one not here. It's really nice running random dungeon dailies on my not account

Also... a lot of trading guilds have or will shortly have a station in their main guild house.

This is pretty much the only reason why it is that I have ESO+. I am a huge hoarder of crafting materials. I’m talking stacks upon stacks of lots of things. If I weren’t a crafter, and a player who deconstructs and loots so much? Chances are I’d do without ESO+. I have no need for the extra perks it provides (although I find the 1.5k crowns a month is nice).

I get that some people don't want ESO plus, that's fine.

but trying to hate on in when the value for money is amazing? I know people that sub for ESO plus and log on maybe once a month, they sub because they still get the value in crowns and when they log on have like 4k waiting for them.

I've gotten used to being bombarded by their propaganda. Just ignore it and move along.

@coop500, for what it's worth, you can get a transmutation station for your stuff from the Rolis Hlaalu. The downside is, this does require you're doing master writs, and that you've been doing enough to earn the 1250 vouchers, the station costs. But, once you get over that hurdle, you can have a transmutation workbench in your home, without spending real money.

Also, one you can port to quickly and painlessly.

As a couple other people in the thread have pointed out, some trade guilds are moving to put stations into their guild halls. At this point, I really wish we could have officially designated guild halls, that guild members could contribute items to. But, here we are.

Fortunately for us, ZoS gave a nice feature called ignore, as well as your own discretion on when you respond. I'm not saying they were right for doing it, harassment is wrong. But you let them continue at your discretion.

That would bug me too. I don't think it's an ESO+ cult thing, I reckon it's just a people thing. Some people are just damn opinionated. I've heard the same zealous "advice" from non-subs insisting that I'm wasting my money on plus.
