Retiring items in the crown store, get 'em while you can!

I was just browsing for some adornments & hairstyles, when I noticed there is a LOT of stuff currently in the crown store that will be retiring in 15 days time. So I'm guessing these will be cycled out when the November showcase hits the store? However, since there is no news article reflecting these retiring items, the crown store part of the website doesn't reflect these changes nor has ZOS made a forum post about them anywhere.. I'll just post the list here in case anyone wants to get any of these items before it's too late:

Style parlor adornments
- Dragonfly Wing Lashes
- Long Patriarch Beard
- Subtle Dark Lashes

Style parlor hairstyles
- The Casual Rascal
- The Heroic Poet

Style parlor personalities
- Drunk
- Scholar

Wardrobe Costumes
- "Vested Interest" Banquet Garb
- Falkreath Thane
- Imperial City Temple Tunic
- Soiree in Camlorn Evening Suit
- Wayrest Suede Doublet Ensemble

Mounts:
- Karthwolf Charger

Non-combat pets
- Housecat
- Karthwolf Shepherd

Get the ones you want while you still can!

I thought these timers usually only started after crown store showcase articles are posted & they mention retiring items? Looking on the bright side, though.. I wonder what ZOS is making room for. Since this list is longer than any I could find in old showcases where they retired a bunch of stuff, I'm expecting a LOT of shiny new goodies in November. Based on the above, I'd say we can at least expect several new hairstyles, personalities, mounts & pets, costumes.. hopefully more? Maybe we'll finally be getting some long-awaited goodies that were already datamined? :)

Yeah, I'm guessing we'll see at least some of these in future crates. :/ Wondering how ZOS determines which items to take out of roulation, though, since some of these haven't been in the store for that long. The HotR items have been there for what, 2 months now?

They'll replace them with half as many items.

At least that's been their trend for the past six months. :/ I think it's pretty awful how few choices they give newer players in the crown store. People can't buy what's not there. This trend of everything being either ultra-limited edition, or in crown crates, quite frankly sucks for a lot of people.

They want people to buy now, not later. Anything that comes into the Crown Store without an end date is something that is not urgent to buy. Not urgent to buy means that people will hold off buying it because something better might come along later. Maybe they never buy that original item. Taking away the option to buy is a "*** or get off the pot" moment for those who are waiting. They particularly want to make sure to clear out the Crown Store before they have any sales.

Of course, they may wish to get rid of it entirely in time and leave us with just the clown crates, that trend will not stop and the smart move to put items for 3 days only or even 24h, I mean... freaking 24h, speaks very loud about their management. Hopeless.

FML I have a bunch of stuff to buy.

I'm not liking how they are either not mentioning it in the showcase, or making it a way shorter window from when they announce it in the showcase.

Also, didn't they just do a clear out in August or so? Followed by the mediocre September Showcase?

And why the karthwolf stuff gone so soon?

Haha, they don't clear out items to "make space" for new offerings. They clear out items so that they can be placed in the next crown crate season.

I bought CWC Collector Edition for 4k crowns and got 200 crowns back. Than bought Subtle Dark Lashes and got 200 crowns back again. Is it some kind of bug of those things are ninja-lower priced?

Yup that was my biggest concern.
Assuming they will mention this in the showcase (and at this stage I wouldn't be completely surprised if they don't) people would still have some time to buy if the showcase comes out on the 1st of November. But if they choose to postpone it to the first day of a new week - which they've done a couple of times now - then the showcase wouldn't come out until the 6th, which coincides with the end-date of these items. Felt a bit sneaky and I really hope it's a one-time move (or maybe even an error?) on ZOS' part.

They did do a small clear in August, yes, and September was a total disappointment.
So I hope this big clear means we'll be showered in goodies the next showcase. I'm not holding my breath though. :P

They want people to buy now, not later.
But people who are new to the game next month can't "buy later" if it's not there. There will be a lot of people who will get the game for the holidays this year who won't have the option to "buy later," because they will have missed the buying window completely.

What can I say? Live in the moment. If you stop and think about all the things that people have missed because they weren't there, it will consume you.

Crown Crates are an imperative. If they are to fulfill their rightful destiny and become the sole reason ESO exists, they must have "old junk" from the Crown Store to hand out in place of the hard-to-get Apex mounts. People must feel happy and satisfied when they open a Crown Crate and don't find what they want. Otherwise, they won't buy Crown Crates.

Thanks for the heads up, OP! Wish ZOS had announced this to let people know. They've always done so in the past, so I'm hoping this is just an error and not a new model. But, I suspect they don't want to advertise it since they don't want too many people to be able to purchase these outright, so that there are more people trying to get what they missed in future crates.

There are a number of items on the list that I've been interested in. I'm on the fence about the Thane outfit due to the price.

I'm glad that the Orbservatory Prior is not time-limited, so I can use some of the Crowns I've been saving up to get the items I want before they're gone.

Maybe they're no longer selling well, so they're being removed in favor of new items that may catch buyers' eyes. I wouldn't be surprised if they just lop off all items that don't pull in at least X dollars over Y period of time, regardless of how long they've been in the shop.

It is not like they need to 'make room' for new merchandise by removing old stuff...
