So, perhaps this goes better on one of the pug threads, but an interesting story from earlier today, on Direfrost, and the boss. After one or two failed jump attempts, I finally link up with a group that’s at the dungeon starting point (vet), about to give it a go. We get through the first pull and it’s very clear that the group is all DPS - like smokin' DPS. I hit about 30K on a dummy, and it was clear that I was the weakest link in the DPS chain for this group. There is a sorc that’s working staff with a taunt, that seems to have decent sustainability and is in fact listed as the tank, but holy hell batman. And no healer, period.

At any rate, the icing on the cake was the final boss, I believe on vet she starts with 4.9 million for health. We got slightly separated going up the ladder and there were a few seconds of a pause, while looking at the boss, and waiting for the remaining group member , where it occurred to me to actually glance at my watch, and the second hand on it, as the first attack then lit off. We literally each stood at a point on the compass around her and started rotations, and by my watch she dropped in 38 seconds.

I am not putting this on here as a chest thumping thread - as I said, I was the weakest link here, and hell, some of the trials I haven’t even been through yet. I have played the game for some time, but just haven’t made it through all the content, that simple. At any rate, this was one hell of a ride, and I don’t remember the names of the folks I was with, but I thank you.

Pro-tip: don't hold down the sprint key. There is no need to ever sprint in a boss fight. You will have 100% stamina whenever she grabs you as a result (enough time passes between each grab that you can regenerate all of your stamina).

Its honestly just a dps race. if you can hit the dps threshold then she is one of the easiest bosses ever. if you can’t youll never beat her. Simple truth

It's not a DPS test at all as she doesn't get stronger the longer the fight goes on. She doesn't do any damage (other than through her telegraphed AOE) and she periodically spawns very weak adds.

You just need to make sure you're not healing her when she grabs you. Everyone should have more than enough stamina to break free when they're grabbed, even magicka toons. If you don't hold down sprint during the fight, a magicka character will have 100% stamina every time she grabs you (more than enough time passes between grabs to regenerate all of your stamina).

It’s easy if people use break-free when the final boss starts leeching life. It’s a nightmare if people don’t.

I finally beat it in Saturday and I was Warden tank. I got into group who knew mechanics - I asked on start. One player was actually a farmer. It was a blast and one of the best PUG ever. I got 4 achievements:
1) veteran difficulty
2) hard mode
3) under 20 min
4) no death run

This is the only group dungeon when I got all those 4 achievements in one run and even overall! Wow .
Drodda didn't grab me once, for some reason...

It's an endurance fight, not a dps race.
You HAVE to conserve stamina and break free immediately when she grabs you
