You must be really, and I mean REALLY, annoyed by people who notice your 1k CP. This is why you even come to the forums to brag about it, right?
If I appear to be antagonistic, it's only because this is clearly an attempt to troll my parallel thread, which asks for more visible CP.
- Update 23Ice Furnace: This item set now grants Spell Damage, rather than Weapon Damage for the 4 piece bonus

I never cared before but now that I have reached the 1K CP level, it's getting a bit of a big problem.
Whenever I join a new guild, or someone is new to my guilds, I get asked the same things over and over again :
- Wow, 1K CP, you must be such a no-lifer ! (I'm not a no-lifer, just a regular player since launch).
- Wow, 1K CP, you must be such a good player ! (I'm not a good player, just a regular player since launch.)
- Wow, 1K CP, can you please show us / carry us in [insert any vet DLC dungeon here]. (No guys, I can help you with the base-game dungeons but in a DLC vet dungeon, I can at best carry my own weight, not yours on top of that. It's not that I don't want to, it's that I cannot).
I also get semi-random invitations from all kinds of people for filling in a free spot in all kinds of trials. Sorry guys, I may have 1K CP but I never completed vMSA, nor vMOL, and you don't want to have me in your semi-elite group. Again, having 1K CP does NOT mean that I am a good player. It does not mean either that I will bother farming BiS gear every three months to remain "meta-conform".
Besides, I spend 70% of my time ingame just chatting, farming, crafting, trading, fishing. I love to run dungeons and trials too, but not all night and not every night.
If I were antisocial I wouldn't mind just closing the chatbox or telling everyone to go to hell. But I am social and I like to have friendly relationships with people. I don't want potential friendships compromised just because I refused to "help out" in someone else's trial run. And it sucks to explain and apologize every ten minutes for refusing an invitation, and take the time to make it politely. And no matter how much care I take, people will still believe that I simply refused to help them. And also, it sucks to have to explain to everyone and anyone that I'm not a "good player".
Please ZOS, hide everyone's CP level. Or at least, give us the option to hide ours. (I would prefer the first option since everyone will suspect a lowbie behind every "hidden" CP level).

Hmm, this is an interesting truth, CP has nothing to do with how good a player plays. But on the other hand, CP does effect how good your toon is.
Seriously, I have 375 CP, mainly due to the fact that I have multiple alts at CP level, and when I tried to create a new char and only remembered to assign the cp only around lv 10, it felt like my lv 10 suddenly was given god mode.
Having a lv 50 char and having a lv 50 char with 375 cp assigned makes so much difference it almost feels like cheating.

I think if you are as social as you say, then giving the same brief answer that you posted here should clear things up without upsetting potential friends.

I get a ton of "friend requests" in the game, and it does get annoying when they get spammed. Not from people I did a pug dungeon with. Just random people when I am in cities. No chat, just a friend request. Hey, at least buy me a drink first!
I doubt ZoS will ever do something like that, just seems like a very minor issue.
This is unnecessary. This is one of those things that would be done to avoid the inconvenience of talking to someone like a normal person. No. Use your words. If you don’t want to do it, just say so.
