It's a poorly optimised game. It's no secret. Most MMOs are though and that's not about to change. The only way to fix it would be to remake the entire game with a different engine.

I like the heavy attacks. I'm 70 y/o, retired, have slow thinking and reaction, current combat really suits me. I don't like all those modern games where you have to be fast and press 10 buttons simultaneously. ESO is the best for people like me. No need to aim, no need to make many clicks, just plant 2-3 AoEs/DoTs and let the heavy attack devastate your enemy. 2 seconds animation gives me enough time to think what to do next (another heavy attack I guess)

    Well,
PvE is fine if I look at PvP state :-D

I always tend to compare ESO and WoW, and I can say that I like ESO PvE much better. However, PvP is another story. ESO PvP can't even hold the name "PvP" because what we have is a joke, a bad parody. No competition, no rewards, no prestige, nothing. I usualy play ESO and when I feel need for some competitive PvP action, I don't even consider stepping into Cyrodiil or BGs. I rather play a match or two of League of Legends.

I disagree with the sustain issues and heavy attacks. Look at magDK, it was considered the worst sustaining class out of all due to expensive skills. With Flame Lash I hardly drop below 40% magicka without single heavy attack. MagNB, magsorc must do a heavy attack or two on occasion but that is not much of a deal. Magplar has 5pc moondancer bonus.

Being someone doing much overland content with my many builds, I can and do enjoy the PVE content.
For those who think it is not hard enough, I can admit that, but after all they are implementing new stuff all the time, trials, dungeons and raids, but yeah soon eough it is learned, you know what to do when, and so if you are looking for HARDCORE stuff, you will not find it. But as my chars are on the road in overland content I still meet enough players who are having a hard time doing this and will that are the 2 faces of the medal, but as you hardcore endgame players are the minorty in game ZOS will need to find a way to make PVE for both ends of the wage interessting.

The fact that magicka Templar is underperforming due to their main dps-skills doesn´t work as they should bothers me a lot. Sweeps and Radiant destruction doesn´t do the correct amount of extra % damage as they should........

    - heavy-attack rotation sucks (light attack works and is fun, but is a big DPS-loss)
    - balance between magicka/stamina is really bad (especially considerung magicka melee-characters)
    - less and less reward for good group coordination (i.e warhorn nerf, orbs nerf, and so on)
    - synergies are working worse and worse with every update
    - great mechanics in trials which get overloaded with crappy nonsense noone needs

edit: for those who like heavy-attack-rotations: they have been competitive even before morrowind...but now la-rotations aren't...

    1. Terrible performance in trials - doesn't matter which trial, situation is always the same: infinite lag and random disconnects. ZOS keeps releasing new DLCs with new trials but they do nothing to improve performance there. I'm so sick that I need to play on lowest graphic settings with all addons disabled and I still can't see sh*t because of lag.

    2. Heavy attack meta - it's really not fun.ESO combat always was quite slow compared to other MMOs but sustain changes made it even slower than it already was. No, I'm not saying that infinite resources are good, but what ZOS did in Morrowind was just too much. I've lost all enjoyment in running trials with Morrowind because heavy attacking 80mln HP boss is frustrating and boring as f*ck. Some of my raiding guilds died because of it, I'm running trials now very occasionally and doing it only because of friends and guildies.

    3. Overland content is too easy - you can easily kill mobs with spamming 1 skill, enemies from quests are also too easy to kill. They should buff all enemies in all zones to make us be more careful when we are travelling through different lands, and force us to prepare for every fight.

    4. Dungeons mechanics are boring - seriously, 99% of vet dungeons in game can be easily done as 4x DDs - just stack and burn everything. ZOS should add more mechanics to bosses and mobs in dungeons so it won't be a boring dps race, and force us to think and be careful while fighting with bosses.

    5. RNGeesus and BoP loot - First thing they should implement smart loot so we won't be getting useless junk like inferno staves of vicious ophidian or 2 handed maul of infallible aether. Less useless items = more chance of getting weapon that you actually want. Second thing - make all trial gear BoE so more people will be interested in running them. I remember when in the past I was doing farm runs in Crag trials, just to get nice gear (like worm rings) for sale.

    6. RIP class balance - I know this game never will be balanced well, but in the past there were moments that balance between classes was quite good. It's sad that every big update ZOS changes something that some of the classes are really strong in terms of dps and welcome in trials, and some of them not really.

You are asking in the wrong place, almost everyone on these forums is angry for some reason. This is a place for outrage not for appreciating the game, so a poll like that will always have the same outcome.

Bring magdk, magplar and magden dps numbers in trial environments somewhat on par with stamina classes and it should be balanced decently. Melee magicka doesn't got a trialspot atm.

I voted yes, but it's not an unqualified 100%. I have no complaints about the gameplay in PVE, but the lag in certain areas is beyond frustrating. Orsinium and Abah's Landing are the worst locations for me, and Dolmens/World Bosses can stutter so badly that too often I can't do anything except leave the fight.

What I like best about PVE (as a solo, casual gamer), is that I can pick and choose quests and activities based on my mood and the amount of time I have to play—it feels like the choices are endless, and I love that. If I want to relax and explore or craft there's tons of activities to choose from, but if I'm feeling social I can team up with people for a WB or dungeon group and have fast paced fun. I'm surprised that six months into it, I never feel bored and even get excited about discovering new things to try. I hope this aspect of the game never changes.

That said, I'd have no problem with ZOS creating more exclusively group content, gear, and/or higher difficulty zones/DLC, for those players who want a more hardcore option beyond veteran level dungeons. I think there's definitely room for more of this, while keeping the overall solo playability of PVE intact.

    No end game.
    No reason to farm.
I have 200+ undaunted keys and no desire to use them as I either already have it, or if it is good, there is nowhere to store it.
Most items found cannot be sold.
Most items found cannot be collected without mule toons.
Once you have found your items, the game goes stale pretty quick.

Waiting on an armory system or being able to sell items again so the game is worthwhile again.

Given that traits can be changed now, if they re-enabled selling the restricted items, they won't be worth anywhere near as much, so I suspect the only solution is an armory system.
