Hey All,
I just wanted to put together a little poll on this. So i had a thought while i was in Cyrodiil the other day and was just kinda wondering if anyone else finds it fun and enjoyable to play in Cyrodiil anymore. There has been a a lot of changes over the last few years and i was curious where everyone stood. Lets discuss why you find it fun or not so fun ( also please keep it civil i know some of You all are quite PASSIONATE about the state of cyrodiil but please sir/ma'am contain thy self.)

I used to be very active in Cyrodiil leading raids and fighting for campaign wins, however I kind of lost my love for that.

Mostly it's down to the fact the days of old when I knew my guilds and enemies and had fun rivalries have gone, now it's just a game of "who's on what side this week?" and it doesn't feel like we're fighting for factions so much as guild wars these days.

ZOS either needs to find a way to get the faction side back into it or just finish the job and unbind characters from factions and give us the option to enlist with a side each "season" for our accounts.

It's something I do now when I want to play but only have an hour or so to play. As soon as I get kicked from a long load screen or the lag gets crazy I just walk away now.

It's not the builds or the people(I like pvp players) it's the performance that kills it for me. Skills not going off porting into a very long load screen or random load screens in the middle of a fight. It's not fun to deal with these game breaking issues.

I would like more of a story element in Cyrodiil. There are Daedra there, maybe once in a while have large armies march out of the Imperial City and take the keeps that circle the Capital. Add a new element to the campaigns.
    My Characters.

    Mike Snow - Imperial - Templar - One-Handed and Shield - Tank - Daggerfall Covenant - Commander.
Catelyn Rivers - Breton - Sorcerer - Destruction Staff - Daggerfall Covenant - Telvanni Magister.
Ashara Sand - Redguard - Warden - Two-Handed/One-Handed and Shield - Daggerfall Covenant - Heroic.
    Tormund gro-Largash - Orsimer - Dragonknight - Two-Handed - Daggerfall Covenant - Furious.
Lysa Rivers - Breton - Nightblade - Bow/One-Handed and Shield - Vampire - Daggerfall Covenant - Brassy Assassin.

    Jon Karstark - Nord - Dragonknight - Two-Handed - Ebonheart Pact - Drunk.
Arya Sand - Dunmer - Dragonknight - Dual Wield - Ebonheart Pact - Assassin.
Sansa Snow - Impeial - Warden - Destruction Staff/One-Handed and Shield - Ebonheart Pect - Swashbuckler.
    Jojen Reed-Walker - Argonian - Templar - Restoration Staff - Healer - Ebonheart Pact - Melancholy.
    Alys Karstark - Nord - Nightblade - Bow/Dual Wield - Ebonheart Pact - Minstrel.

Nymeria Woods - Bosmer - Nightblade - Bow - Aldmeri Dominion - Thief.
Brandon Wings - Altmer - Templar - Restoration Staff - Healer - Aldmeri Dominion - Scholar.
    Lyanna Flowers - Altmer - Sorcerer - Sword/Destruction Staff - Aldmeri Dominion - Duchess.

Not really fun anymore especially since i primarily played an archer. with all the nerfs done to sneak sharpened trait etc the bow hits most people for very little anymore. it doesn't do as much damage as it use to. and thats not saying much cause it was still sort of weak before. everyone you run into anymore is a tank. i usually get killed by someone wearing heavy armor. or either someone using guard on someone wearing light armor who is a zerg bomber. pvp is only zerg bombers and perma block builds anymore. it's hardly the stuff of fun and not to mention my attacks not firing off cause of lag and endless load screens. and the people have became more toxic it seems then before. every time i read text chat while in pvp there is always someone insulting someone. its just better to stay away from it unless there isn't much else to do.

I play with my girlfriend, so it's always fun and a good laugh. Doesn't matter if we get rekt or do the reking, we just do what we want when we feel like it, and adapt to nerfs as they come.

And complain about magsorcs to each other. That's pretty fun.

I do play every so often, but I find myself wishing there were different dailies that were multi-faction, like:

-escort NPCs with healing supplies, wounded or rescued people back to their "homes" and have to fight other factions to do so

-some sort of "capture X resource [all 3 factions have the same 12 or 24 hour quest/daily]" that was a multi-faction area, and would have regular "NPC support" (at regular intervals in real time - which ever side was least represented would get an NPC boost).

Tenesi Faryon of Telvanni - Dunmer Sorceress who deliberately sought sacrifice into Cold Harbor to rescue her beloved.
Hisa Ni Caemaire - Altmer Sorceress, member of the Order Draconis and Adept of the House of Dibella.
Broken Branch Toothmaul - goblin (for my goblin characters, I use either orsimer or bosmer templates) Templar, member of the Order Draconis and persistently unskilled pickpocket
Mol gro Durga - Orsimer Socerer/Battlemage who died the first time when the Nibenay Valley chapterhouse of the Order Draconis was destroyed, then went back to Cold Harbor to rescue his second/partner who was still captive. He overestimated his resistance to the hopelessness of Oblivion, about to give up, and looked up to see the golden glow of atherius surrounding a beautiful young woman who extended her hand to him and said "I can help you". He carried Fianna Kingsley out of Cold Harbor on his shoulder. He carried Alvard Stower under one arm. He also irritated the Prophet who had intended the portal for only Mol and Lyris.
    ***
Order Draconis - well c'mon there has to be some explanation for all those dragon tattoos.
House of Dibella - If you have ever seen or read "Memoirs of a Geisha" that's just the beginning...
Nibenay Valley Chapterhouse - Where now stands only desolate ground and a dolmen there once was a thriving community supporting one of the major chapterhouses of the Order Draconis

Judging from the comments in this topic, 90% if not all of them are PVE players and shouldn't even be commenting here as it will lead to misinformation.

You should go to the PVP section of the forums for real information on why Cyrodiil is still fun and what you can do to get more fun out of it.

Answers feel very contradictory to the question. "Has Cyrodiil lost what made it fun?" "Yes" which to me says that it lost its fun, but then "I have a blast." Which seems to mean that no, it hasn't lost its fun. Is this text in sarcasm? I'm beginning to wonder if I speak English.

Anyway. I find it fun when it happens to be a siege vs counter siege and even groups against even groups, big or small; so long as they are even. I even like the risk of getting ganked or every now and then, ganking. Its what brings me back to even begin dealing with all the warts.

    Yes i have a blast
I still enjoy Cyrodiil quite immensely. I've pvp'd since launch. Got my emperor slayer achievement from Murder Thumbs himself. But a majority of my pvp time was "shelved" due to my guild's primary focus on PvE endgame raiding. We only pvp'd sparing throughout the week and every saturday after that. It wasnt until June 2015 that we formed a dedicated pvp team and I pvp'd 2-3 times a week until February of 2017 and now i am in cyrodiil 5 times a week.

So if anything my interest and drive has only INCREASED for pvp as the time has gone by.

Im not new to PvP either. PvP'd like a madman in Rift, Aion and SWTOR. Not to mention I always created characters on pvp servers given the chance to help with my immersion of having higher stakes.

So with that being said, no, the burn out has not set in and i regularly field 8-14 players nightly in the name of the Daggerfall Covenant EXCLUSIVELY on the NA campaign Shor. Even so, I have to agree with Turelus here:

I am an advocate of faction locking. I dont like the, "oh i dont like how things are going for this faction so im going to log into my character i have with the winning faction". Ive been in Shor while getting completely zerged during midyear mayhem and in zone chat i saw someone say, "alright guys lets log into our EP, DC has no chance"

There ARE a few people that like faction freedom so they can "help balance" the campaign. And i have nothing against those guys, they have good enough intentions. however, with the current system, there is far too much opportunity for abuse and "flip flopping"

Im a one guild, one faction kind of guy. loyalty. respect. honor. those things mean a lot to me, even in a video game.

I do love Cyrodiil as a concept, but I got sick of the huge zergs (full of tanks), night-capping, and the sea of stealthed try-hard stamblades. Cyrodiil is no country for solo players.

Thankfully we now have battlegrounds, which are an infinitely better PvP experience in my opinion.

Solo in open world PvP is about more than 1v1 or 1vX encounters which are fair.
As I have said and others have said in threads before, part of the skill of a solo player is getting fights and kill whilst being able to disengage and get away.
Hell at least if you die in this game it means nothing, oh no we have to run back to where people are.

The best experience is when everybody is there for first time still trying to find stuff out.

When the 1st FOTM build is out it will spread like a disease and mostly is when the fun start to vain a small bit.

When people no longer play for fun and PvP but only to win and for AP is when the fun starts to decline more.

But when a developer puts in stuff and allow things that just breaks fun combat (poisons, proc sets, no softcaps, addons which reveal to much information) is where it really hurts in my opinion.

Then add up a specific update which also caused major lag and loading screens (1.2.4) and people tear out there fingernails.

I try to log in once in a while and see my campaign (no-CP) overrun by one faction and hardly any of the other 2 online. I also enjoy CP campaigns, but for some reason i have to much lag there and loading screens which are to much if you don;t have much time to play.

So i still play when i am bored. But PvP is currently just as exiting as reading the forums.

Cyrodiil used to be fun. But every patch is seems like More nerfs for small groups and solo play and more buffs for zergs.

Also as another person mentioned, the faction flipping is really annoying. ZOS needs to redo the entire Alliance system. You should be able to start in any land in PvE, as they have done. But PvP should be completely faction locked by account.

People complaining about tanks, sharpened was halved less than 2500 penetration loss is not such a big deal...

Also, ESO is rock/paper/scissors, if everyone is really running around with 30k health and perma blocking, their is a build for that. Actually, several builds now. Although ZoS usually is far from proactive, they added a bit more paper for that tank rock in Horns of the Reach. Think paper cuts...
