    If they added such a thing the damage would have to be classified as something other than magicka damage. Otherwise the War Maiden would go from junk gear to being to OP, well, I guess Zos could nerf it.

    I like the idea of there being a Shadow Staff that used pure magic damage. This would help classes that primarily do magic damage optimize better.

    But I also think it's time ZoS made Ice Staff for dps again.
    None of this silly Ice Staff tanking. I want an Ice staff that has passives that provide critical bonuses such as increases crit damage and chance.

    If a magic based staff were to exist, what passives would it have that would make it competitive. What would be a shadow status effect?

    you mean give us earth damage back... dks used to deal earth damage or erthern damage, there was a whole skill line dedicated to it earthern heart.... we still have earthern heart but now the damage skills deal magic damage!

    Not that interested... Reason... Things like "shadow" the OP used for an example are not elements. Also they can and DO already add such things through enchantments. Why add something else when ZoS could spend their time more wisely making this game better...(cough) more balanced, more optimized, etc.

    Seems to me, while options are good, (I like options) this kind of thing would be a distraction...at this time.

    An earth based staff would be nice to go with the nature themed magic of the warden.

    And an oblivion based staff would be cool. Deals oblivion damage. Would have a cool purplish black glow to it.

    Dark energy, sounds nice..

    I second this. Dark magic staff to match the sorcerer skill line. On my lich sorcerer who only uses dark magic I hate having to use the one of the other elements.

    Yes, a new destro would be awesome.

    1.Water Destro

    2. A hybrid destro. Snow: Mix Water and Ice staff together. Call forth the sky above, bend it to your will. Let it snow! :smiley: or um, giant Boulder size Ice. Im really unsure how snow is made....

    It’s typically the same damn elements in every RPG that features sorcery: Fire, Lightning, and Ice. This holds true for the Destruction Staves in ESO. I’d like to see something like a “Nature” staff that uses Spriggan-type magic or a “Shadow” staff that uses that dark energy the Dremora and Xivkyn often use. Would ZOS be able to implement something like this in a competent manner?

    I think that a nature or Spriggan-type staff would fit well as an alternative line for the restoration staffs. But shadow sounds nice, perhaps with some neat necromancer features (debuffs / temporary summons / turns / fears).

    Yeah I was thinking that after I posted. Nature/Spriggan would fit much better with restoration. And the Restoration Staff could certainly use different types too.

    So basically like resto varieties equivalent to flame/frost/lightning staves?

    Hmm I would say change some racials for altmer, dunmer and breton, give em some magic damage boost
    Also for these the best would be if they would get something similar to destro passives ( the one that gives extre ST/aoe damage)

    False. TES IV, for example, has magic damage in the Destruction School in addition to the standard 3 elements.

    A Destruction staff that simply did magic damage would be HUGELY useful to many builds.

    Right now we have:
    Inferno = Single Target

    Ice = Defense

    Which pretty much covers most of the needs. So what .

    Now Ice has been moved over the Defence Tanking I'd love to see Earth Destro almost entirely functioning as Crown Control.

    What about a poison staff or disease staff?
