They ignored feedback: Next crown crate season will ALSO include mounts not purchasable with gems

I agree they shouldn't do the RNG only items.
I also say vote with your wallet and don't buy them because that's the only thing they truly listen to.

I personally haven't found anything as good as the first crown crate items I really wanted anyway, so I won't be buying any crates because absolutely none of it tops what I already have. Storm Atronach Wolf Forever!!

Heck, as far as the crown store and crates do, revenue is the loudest feedback. They certainly listened to our feedback.

Cha ching is great feedback. They listen very well to it.

I don't even hold it against them. They're making money this way which is entirely optional and it doesn't hamper the game in any way. I'm fine with it.

Technically, we should all hold it against them considering it is getting very much like gambling in real life without the legal protection requiring a certain high percentage payout back to the gamblers as well as clearly posted odds and other legal monitoring.
These games do operate in a gray area where they are really pushing boundaries they shouldn't push if they don't want to be the company slapped down by the legal system first or not have time to react to change the system after the first company learns the lesson the hard way.

You can make a profit without screwing the customer over. It's not like this is a free to play game. You're paying a premium just to even enter it, and you're pretty much forced into a subscription if you want to not have a headache.

See the difference between the mounts in this game, and the ones in say... WoW, for example. Are how WoW makes the premium mounts stand out. They're worth the $15-$30 you spend for them if you want them. You buy it directly. And most importantly of all... YOU CAN EARN THOUSANDS OF FREE MOUNTS JUST BY PLAYING THE GAME! WHAT A SHOCKER!

Where's your free mount collection in this game? A legit path to enjoy a MMO not even put into the game. There's people who play WoW just to collect mounts. Grinding dungeons, grinding rep, leveling professions, etc whatever it takes to add another mount to the collection. Meanwhile in ESO you're stuck with a generic horse with some lame colors at a stable vendor. And that's it. There's no mount for running a dungeon, or doing an epic quest line, or mastering a class, or doing an achievement, or earning enough faction tokens.

Where is the challenge of opening up your wallet to just buy the newest mount? Sorry but I like to actually earn things by PLAYING the game. Payment should be reserved for the lazy and impatient. The more goals you have in a game the longer it can keep your interest. If you're just logging on to throw money at something and then you're done with your goal, why even continue playing? And then when you stop playing, why continue to pay them for whatever comes out in the future? It's bad business practice plain and simple.

Cool short term profits for the next few quarters maybe but after the next burnout wave they'll wish they came up with a better longterm plan.

Like in any other game, random lucky boxes specifically target kids with access to their parents credit cards. The "cool" kids, that need to be the coolest kid, by having something noone else has.

It is not a nice business practise, but as long as it keeps the servers running, i'm okay with it.

I can understand your frustration, even tho i have been lucky enough that they didnt bring anything in those boxes yet, that i even remotely liked. I'd be pissed to find e.g. a fellrunner mount (like the real one, not a stupid/ugly reskin) to be crates only. Was hard to resist the vvardwark pet and hope they'd bring another version in the normal store (which happened).

I chose that vote option, not only because its the most biased one, but also cause its true. If u "need" that mount because its the newest and coolest, rest assured, there will be another season with a newer cooler mount, and after that, another one and another one and another one.

How many ppl have u seen lately using a strom atronach- or spriggan mount? How "cool" did u think those ppl looked?
Imo the "coolest" mount there is, was and always will be, is the one and only original tiger mount. Because it was a "thank you"-gift.

Yup. ESO is a very shallow game, in this respect. I prefer to earn my rewards, not buy them. ZOS wants people to buy them, and the means by which we earn some of this stuff in the game does not feel rewarding. It is a grind against RNG designed to soak time, and nothing else. Shallow.

When the entire crown crate idea was announced the overwhelming majority of players were against it, they ignored us completely. Why is it a surprise to you that they would continue to ignore negative feedback pertaining to something that they completely ignored feedback about in the first place?

Just based on how much crate stuff I see in game, this can't possibly be true. It looks like almost everyone has at least something, even if it's a minor cosmetic or pet.

Also, they listened a little, by giving gems to trade with. Granted, they took that back, but still. They can pay attention when they choose to.

Personally I have gotten crates once (around 10) since that point I don't spend money on them, this is just my opinion and if other want to engage in then, then more power to them. But my subscription crowns typically go to the on sale motifs they occasionally put out (last one I got was ra gada) cause this can actually impact me in the game as a crafter more so then a horsey.

I cannot not stand this argument. We all are fully aware that the company is in the business to make money. We also understand that new content requires money to produce. What isn't necessary is the practice of crates with the ridiculous drop rates, duplicates, garbage, and the gambling around the crates. Hundreds of dollars for enough gems to get what your after? The developers are making plenty of money, between subs, housing, chapters, etc, etc, they are not rolling pennies for gas money or anything. Intentionally gating things behind pay walls, with absurdly low drop rates with no means to acquire in game is dirty business. Legal, sure, their right, yep, right there in the TOS, however, should they?

I don't mind that they have items for cash. I have never purchased a crate, because I don't care much for what they have in them. But I don't care that they sell them.

Most of the crate content I want, I get in my crates amongst the stuff I have no use for and trade for gems. The rest, I can use the gems for. Anything beyond that is a bonus, something I won't throw hundreds at, but won't be disappointed if I do or don't get it either.

They have already been datamined. The Flame Atronach crates will feature Flame Atronach apex mounts and Cold Flame Atronach super-apex mounts.

Don't recall feedback ever being asked for on this matter!.., just because some folk have some moral issue with crown crates don't mean they are gunna change an obviously lucrative revenue stream...
Now if the community was asked or even encouraged to give some feedback then this thread may have been relevant, but honestly, u guys are pissin in the wind!

Those mounts should only be available in dlc content as a rare droo during event, not in crown crates unless you can purchase with x amount of gems. This system is shady as hell lol.
