Favourite sorcerer skills/rotation PvE

Hi, so I decided I'll take a paus from my healer and try a sorcerer dps. I know that there are many good guides out there and I've looked at a few, Alacast for example.

But I want to know what you guys think is the most useful skills and rotation with the sorcerer for PvE play, and also for soloing group dungeons(I've seen people soloing veteran white gold tower).

Would be fun to try and solo a dungeon on normal difficulty.

you mean ... Veteran ? Any class can solo normal difficulty ... it's not that hard.

Gotta start somewhere if not done one before.. Normal Fungal 1 is a good start

To solo, I'd probably look at basing around volatile familiar/hardened ward.. wall of elements/liquid lightning/curse - surge alone will do for heals if you're good at keeping that shield up.

As a stamina sorcerer, I use Crit Surge, Hurricane, Endless hail, poison injection, bound armaments, blood craze, blood thirst, steel tornado/blade cloak and rearming trap with Ballista and Flawless dawnbreaker as ults.
I try to do my rotations as: Crit surge, hurricane, poison injection, endless hail ballista -> rearming trap, blade cloak, blood thirst (or what was that dw dot called), blood craze OR rearming trap steel tornado (if multiple targets). Inbetween skills I try to do light attacks while at bow bar and heavy attacks while at DW bar. I try to reapply dots/skills whenever they run out.

Yes, however most of the playerbase can get killed with 4 man in normal dungeons, so there's that. And you don't need to try soloing vet if you aren't comfortable with normal..

If you are new to soloing and want to go sorc, than easiest will be 2 pets + hardened ward and some AOE skills (blockade + liquid lightning). Obvious rotation.. (Btw.. most of the rotations you find will only get high dps with animation canceling, look it up (youtube) if you don't know how to, you won't need it for normal, but it will make you life easier.)

Just know that some normal dungeons have mechanisms that may prevent you from advancing even on normal (Direfrost-2 pad activation, Vaults of Madness - hp/shield check for the harvester, nWGT - basically dps check for planar inhibitor, nICP - 2 lever activation, etc..)

If you are more seasoned go have a look at vMA guides for sorc (like Joy's), which gives you quite a bit of insight.


Edit: For soloing i use 1:(liquid l + ele b + hardened w + deadric p + volatile f + shooting star) 2:(dest. c + mages w + hardened w + inner light + volatile f + destro ult). I used to slot heals (pet or surge) but i stopped using heals completely at some point..

Edit2: If you want to start soloing vet i would recommend Vaults of Madness as a first. It's simply the most straight forward.
