Removing levels 1-50

I could see the removal of levels, but I think it would require an overhaul of the game which I don't think they'd be willing to invest in (don't know that there's money to be made).

    * The skills points and attribute points that you get would have to be allocated another way, possibly attached to achievements. But then you get the complaints of people not wanting to do X or Y, and the flood of account bound achievement threads.
    * It would make a whole lot of crafting materials pointless so that would need an overhaul (although if you ask me that area needs to be looked at anyway). There are already a stack of materials that rarely see use. There's a stack that I'll not see again because my alts automatically skip certain leveling points due to automatic CP gain, this would make that significantly worse.
    * You'd still have to quest and gain experience to level your skills, though without levels this would flatten out because you wouldn't be getting more experience at higher levels. They'd have to add something else in there so you didn't advance too quickly (so there isn't that sense of investment in the game) or too slowly (so that it becomes a mind numbing grind).
    * Removing 1-50 would also make the champion system seem well out of place, so that would probably need an overhaul too (though like crafting, I'm not sure that overhauling it would necessarily be a bad thing...).
    * Then there are new players. How to ensure that they learn what older players have learnt during the leveling process. Although I have seen people on the forums complain that you don't learn anything anyway...

But would there be any money in it for Zeni? Unless it would increase subs or sales or massively increase returning players I don't know that there is any incentive for them to put in that amount of work.

Another reason is, not everyone who plays the game is in a race to end game. I have guildmates who have been playing this game since release who are still not CP160. And they are steady players. What, you want to tell them to go away and find another game to play because they are not bent on getting to the cap as quickly as possible?

ZOS has already made leveling to your max character's level a process that takes hours, not months like it used to. And we still have people complaining about the small amount of time spent leveling a new character.

I know, I know, some people are not going to be happy until they can just load a template up and go from there. But, something tells me that won't be good enough for them. Then they will want gear packs so they BiS right out of the Wailing Prison. Oh, no, we need to skip that too.

if there was a tab for f****** awesome you'd have got my vote :)

I had a nice experience yesterday. I'm leveling my Warden which is currently level 47. I'm wearing level 16 blue training gear I crafted way back when I started her and have distributed only 75 of my 797 CP so I could get the Master Gatherer passive. Gear was broken (546 repair cost) when I tackled Mynar Ignar, one of the bosses in Forgotten Wastes. With 14k health that was delicious. A real fight. Also leveling up to 50 gives me the chance to revisit my most favourite story quest lines. I would miss it.

In most good games I tend to love the levelling process as a lot of thought and care goes into crafting it.

Each character is a story and a journey to be enjoyed, sure there is a lot quest re-use between alliances but each alliance has its own flavour.

While levelling I don't give a fresh character any help, it makes do with what drops, sometimes it makes it a bit weaker but then it shows me where I need to pay attention and improve it. If its the first time through for the build type, class plus mag or stam then I'll respec a lot to try out all sorts of things.

A question... If 1-50 were to be skipped would you also expect all the quests to be automatically marked off and all skill points automatically granted? If not then it doesn't matter what level you are, you'll still have to run all the content if you want the skill points. Same with achievements.

Personally I hate rushing in a game. I've paid for it, paid for the content and I'm going to enjoy it. I'd sooner run the levelling process all the way through on eight characters than do hundreds of runs in a trial or dungeon because RNG isn't my friend.

I don't think it'd really matter tbh. 50 levels take so short now it's not like you'd be like "ooo yay I don't have to level anymore, just 660 more cp woohoo!!" Even for people with alts - the time it's gonna take them/us to level the characters' skills alone is probably about the time it's gonna take to get to 50. One place where it would make a difference is vet content - it'd mean veteran content is available for everyone, and for the sake of those level 10s in vet ROM, I'ma say this is a bad idea. Also PvP. No sub-50 campaign and BGs would REALLY hurt new players.

I agree that there is no reson to have 1-50 lvls now. Vet players and some new just spend several hours at Skyreach. The rest of the population just do quests where enemies die just cuz you looked at them. There is no class learning involved. There isn't any kind of learning involved. People just LA their way through everything mb popping some self heal from time to time. To all those who disagree: can you honestly say that after months of questing you came into your first vet dungeon and went through with flying colours with a perfect beginners build and clear understanding of your class? There is only one way this could happen: someone explained to you how to play and trained you.

Some of you brought up decent points. Like the player who is CP700+ who is on their 10th character.. do we seriously need to teach someone how to play their 3rd Nightblade? Assuming we even believe that 1-50 is actually teaching anything.

I think a compromise is in order. Perhaps if you have a 50 in a class already and have CP 200+ or whatever. You can elect to start at 1 or 50. I mean if a player is only going to grind for a few hours to 50 anyway, way make them waste the time yet again?

The salty vets still get to watch the newbies squirm their way to 50, because let's face it, that's the only reason many of us want to see the 1-49 game remain. Just being honest. I went through it, so they should too.

While those who want to play at the stage of the game they want to, can do so. Choices are always good.

Ever since 1T came out I've been advocating for the removal of gear levels altogether. It's the most unintuitive part of the game that your gears stats degrade as you level up.

I'm happy to keep levels however. The base game normal dungeons are easy to do and ~50 players should be encouraged to do them.

This is a good point, and I wanted to suggest this myself, but I couldn't figure out a means to make the different item tiers work. I might be overthinking it and we could just see the various tiers of mats disappear.

I don't think it'd be such a bad option for players that are over x amount of cp.

    x could be 160, 300, 600, or patch maximum.

I sure by remove he means to just change the name and not remove the ability to level from 1-50.

with that said I would live the levels and champions system to be more unison so players don't feel like the champion points skills are something else and not part of your normal character progression, so the no champion point stuff go's away.

champion points having there own sheet mite be the reason, or the fact that they were add later mite be too. ether way I would like for the two systems to better feel like one system.
