Should jumping during combat cost stamina?
What if they were to reduce the stamina cost of dodge roll, break free, sprint, and all of the rest by a percentage so that all of the maneuvers that cost stamina with jump included still had the same overall cost. Just have jump take a percentage of each of the others and absorb that cost.
Crude Example:
sprint 1000 to 800
rolldodge 1000 to 800
block 1000 to 800
breakfree 1000 to 800
jump 0 to 800
total 4000 4000
This way for those who don't jump, bunny hop etc. it is actually a buff?

Also, casting a shield should cost stamina and streaking through the air should cost stamina and summoning a pet should cost stamina and weapon swap should cost stamina and teabagging should cost stamina ...Running cost stamina, sneaking costs stamina, why doesnt jumping durning combat cost stamina?

Its a soft target that highlights the player but doesn't lock you into that player, you can still miss. Lag and whatnot affect it.

Avoiding encase and petrify, ritual of retribution ticks and even the sacred ground snare if you're that good at it. Probably other stuff (I'm not good at it). People don't hop just because they're high energy.
Yeah falling down and touching the groung also should cost stamina even moving should cost stamina especially when You're using LoS as an adventage , that should cost even 3x more...
Basicly everything that doesnt allow groups full of scrubs kill You in a second should cost massive amount of resources ! You should stand in 1 place and let Yourself be killed or move and jump to drain out of all resources so You'll be punished for not letting Yourself to be killed to enemie group !

Bumping your own comment; classy. But why though? Are you completely anti-fun?
It should cost stamina because people use it because of a game flaw, to avoid area damage.
Defensive spells claim resources and as people jump to increase their defense it would be more than normal to spend stamina to jump.
In addition, the guys are ridiculous, this will avoid seeing herds of kangaroo in play ....
Elder scrolls of Kangaroos online .........
The other solution is that zenimax makes sure that the jumps do not protect the zone spells !! (best solution in my humble opinion)

That is how TES games are and it makes sense to be the same in a MMO that is based off the TES games.
