Mother's Sorrow vs Leviathan

I wonder why farming Mother's Sorrow (for magicka builds) is so easy on overland monsters - also obtainable via guild traders, while farming Leviathan (exact equivalent for stamina builds) needs to farm group dungeon with no option to buy from traders.

This "mechanics" is simply unfair and - again - favours the magicka playing style in ESO.

And it's not the point if making Crypt of Hearts for Leviathan is soloable or not, the point is that these two sets should be available the equal way.

it's not like this was more easy to get leviathan ring/weapon at the end of a vet dungeon ...

3 set in dungeons - 3 set in overland
    Non-Dungeon Bosses
    • Delve bosses will now drop a waist or feet set piece from the zone they are located in.
    • Overland group bosses drop head, chest, legs, or weapon set piece from the zone they are located in.
    • Public dungeon bosses drop a shoulder, hand, or weapon set piece from the zone they are located in.
    • Many of these Bosses have a small chance to drop a uniquely-named item, instead of the expected set piece. This uniquely-named item is also a part of one of the sets of the zone they are located in, but may not adhere to the dropped slot guidelines above.

    Dungeons bosses
    • Dungeon bosses and mini bosses will now drop a set piece 100% of the time.
    • Mini bosses will drop either a hand, waist, or feet set piece.
    • Bosses will drop either a chest, shoulder, head or leg set piece.
    • The final Boss of a dungeon will drop weapons or jewelry.
    • Normal mode dungeon bosses will drop blue-quality items.
    • Veteran mode dungeon bosses will drop purple-quality items.

You can choose the mode of the dungeon ... and you will have 100% chance to get a purple jewerly, It's not the case with anchor.

Drop seems pretty balanced ... i don't see the problem.

Easy solution: Make all dungeon sets BoE.

You don't need Leviathan, you get a good amount more crit from the medium armor passives and daggers, like an extra 14% more from both those that magic doesn't have access to, this set does simply not need to be farmed.

or equally easy make all overland sets BoP.

or if you want more focused changes - change where either sorrow or levi drops so that they are equal. There is really no need to change all sets of a type just to fix one complaint about one pair - if that even needs fixing.

If by some reason leviathan/sorrow becomes BiS (and we came very close with PTS), it will hardly matter that you get some crits from daggers (not to mention not everybody is or wants to use them)
But you should recheck how much crit medium armor actually gives over light. And how many pieces of it you need...

Not agreeing or disagreeing with OP at all. I dont consider it unfair any more or less than warmaiden being overland. But I think all dungeon sets should be BoE. Getting weapon in right trait is just horrible. I spent 5min to get overland weapon in right trait from guild trader.

Sure, you get 2% per piece, so up to 14% but you get 10% from wearing five light but no more for wearing more, so you are only getting an extra 4% from medium armor and daggers are 5% more crit per, highest dps you can get on most builds in pve and any serious dps will have them, if they can get them.

That is 5%+5%+4% crit that magic builds have no chance to get. Not to mention the staggering 8% weapon crit you get from being a khajiit, so really there is 22% crit that magic builds have zero access to.

Again irrelevant. If crit meta happens, having more crit does not invalidate the need to get even more. (Obviously unless you reach 100%)
By the way it is 1.5% per piece. Making 7 pieces of medium armor giving whooping 0.5% more than light armor on 5 pieces.

Anyway, not interested to do some back-to-back discussion about what some builds have access to, thats not the thread about is it. The crit every build has access to did not change with one tamriel bringing these sets, so it is hardly relevant

Farming leviathan is not hard. There's a named ring and people always seem to be running crypt of hearts. I got a full set pretty quick. I find getting weapons from dungeons easier than overland bosses.

Not the best comparison since they are both crafted and most of master crafters or guild masters already have both sets craftable in their personal homes, for which everyone have easy access.
