I do not think that ZOS puts a high priority on cleaning the game of bots, whether run by gold sellers or normal players, and whether for loot, XP, or both. They talk big, about three times per year, but they just don't seem too worked up about them. Between those rare and momentous occasions, I sometimes wonder if they changed their mind about them.

I do want to correct one impression. The bots in Shadowfen (PC NA), at least the ones around Hissmir, Percolating Mire, and Stillrise, have been there for months, but it is not the same accounts for all that time. Even as recently as within the last couple of weeks, they are all new accounts. I concede the possibility that ZOS has banned the old ones, but it took them too long to get around to them.

Question: does console have bots? Can't really install 3rd party programs. I mean I've seen people 'rubberband' their controllers at various dolmens, but otherwise nothing at all like you've described or what that video shows.

Sorry to say: PC has umpteenth amount of in-game "buffs" you can add-on. Skyshard/Lorebook overlays, buff timers, etc. Those are ALL 3rd party mods to essentially make ththe game easier on you. If you want to play the game without the dozens of UI enhancements and programmed bots, go to console. You've been bottling yourselves with ways to make the game easier for a long time.

I won't say more ,if you are happy with bots , it's COOL FOR YOU, go there and help them ! I don't care. But this won't make me love them .. Something need to be done about the spot , it's the bigger pile of *** that i have ever seen ( bots ) so something need to be done about this area cause apprently ban account is not enough , they need to reduce xp even more for each players hiting a mob , they also need to remove some mobs , or they have to make these mobs move through ALL the area ... .

There is so much bot that they should create achievement like " Stuck X boss in a tent " ect...
Unfortunaly stuck bots is useless cause 5 minutes after they just travel to the warshrine ...

Bots also north of Riften at the senche farm.. it's about 8+ of them and they have been at it for weeks. They are still there, I sent a report along with many other players, but nothing ever gets done.

Pretty much only real thing ZOS can do, is create a group debuff that if your are in the same area for some amount of time, it will debuff loot drops to 0 (no more mob loot) and XP degrade to 1% gain. It would reduce the long bot farms, and create situation where you can't stay and grind in one area.

It sounds reasonable so it not that big of burden to active players. Of course, it will have to be only in public areas, (in other words exclude group dungeon, trials, MA, and PvP areas)

Other thing they'll need to make it a progressive "group" debuff, so it would vary differently if the bots that return to the area.

No, we are not paying for this level of service. On our own time, time that could be spent playing the game, we are volunteering to report them. In return, ZOS sits on the reports for days, or weeks. Their time is apparently more important than ours, right? The bots are back with new accounts faster than a snowball melts in Hell.

What I mean is - we need this level of service - and the money ZOS is getting surely covers sticking a couple low level CS GMs on the servers to monitor and correct this bot problem.

Hacking accounts is not so simple, especially to hack a specific account. Normally that requires some interaction to make that account a likely target. I'm betting your friend either shared his account info with someone, or shared his home/computer with someone, or bought from gold farmers who use bots before.
There is likely some reason he was hacked.

Yes bot suck and I wish they were stopped, although that's only when they annoy me. The other times I sometimes wish I could set my account to farming without me at the wheel while I sleep so I can get the stupidly grindy stuff the devs make us do done. That is why bots exist in the first place and is more a problem with the design than the bot controllers.
