15 Things you might not know about the Elder Scrolls Online

I've been working on this for quite some time and while it does sound clickbaity, I'm fairly sure that only a few individuals will know everything on this list. It's meant to be both informative as well as kind of eye-opening to the possibilities within ESO. Granted, a lot of these seem akin to bugs, but as they have been in the game since launch, they are technically features, although unintentionally so.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zvMCFxItr20

List of subjects in the video:
  1. The Sanguine Goat and Vampire bloodfiends.
  2. Werewolves and the fullmoons.
  3. Ghost in animal graveyard found in Cyrodiil.
  4. Bounty Sheet furnishing.
  5. Memento effect glitch.
  6. Incrementing by 10 instead of 1.
  7. All polymorphs are "male".
  8. Skipping intro credits on launch.
  9. Expanding the duelling area.
  10. Champion point jump points.
  11. Items no longer available (mercenary contracts / old provisioning system)
  12. Daedric artefacts accidentally in-game.
  13. Increasing your mount riding speed beyond what's intended.
  14. Multiple streaks through the air.
  15. Nirnroot Wine.

I got a lot of inspiration for the various things from either situations where long-time players would see or hear about something and go, "I didn't know that was a thing." As well as old forum threads about things that people have either forgotten about, or have never heard if they haven't played since launch.

Part of the reason why I posted this on the forum was actually to see if there are other "hidden features", funny harmless glitches, weird ESO facts, etc. that people knew about and would be willing to share / talk about in this thread.

Same. But it's very rare that a company will do that, at least while the game is still active. The only exceptions seem to be if the information can be used as a selling point.

While this thread may not answer your questions, you may still enjoy reading through some of the comments, as they seem to have been partly written by people associated with the industry (though with mainly a focus on server infrastructure): https://forums.elderscrollsonline.com/en/discussion/367004/professional-opinions-on-zos-infrastructure/p1

The Nirnroot wine quest has 3 possible pick up locations, one in each faction area of Cyrodiil. I picked mine up in the EP area in another Winery.

Never played AD but would assume this is their location.

Ah thanks man. I wasn't 100% sure there was only one, since I remembered picking it up in different areas too and it totally makes sense to have one for each faction.

something i only recently discovered, that others may not know about is a fast scroll method for inventry & bank using a controller

instead of just holding up or down, you can hit left or right trigger (block/light attack) to skip to the next section, so for example in your bank you start with alchemy ingredients, hit right trigger (light attack) and skip straight down to daggers (or whatever comes next alphabetically in your bank)

it works on your bank, guild bank, craft bag, inventory and amour/weapon slots

(the few people i mentioned this too had no idea of this function)

    You prolly already know this:

Yellow wasps in Reapers March have a "Larval Injection" attack that places eggs on the back of your neck. If you kill the 'Mother' before they hatch, you become the new mother.

I did know, but had actually completely forgotten. I think that's probably something that not everyone would be aware of though.

The Waps in the redguard part of Bankorei do the same stuff. That new companion is quite vulnerable tho ...

Its any wasps, the ones in Deshann do the same thing. Never seen it happen in a delve but then again there are very few delves/public dungeons with wasps, might still happen just might not have seen it.

Nice stuff in there ! And learned quite a few things. Thank you !

Just let me complain once more about the video format. All you've said would have been more easily explained if written. Videos suck. Not yours specifically. All videos suck. Unless there is something that really needs to be illustrated visually - but it rarely is.

That being said, congrats for finding really vastely ignored details about ESO.

Thanks, it was very interesting finding about Vampires and Werewolves! And a very deep, in a way that you could use your own knowledge about these creatures (e.g. full moons for warewolves) and try it in the wild yourself. That's why I love this game <3

I'm not sure if the wasps in Craglorn do this, in my experience they are just out to kill you fast (was even faster before 1T). I can remember how surprised and confused I was when this happened the first time to me

Not completely, which is why I left it in. For example the the Token of Root Sunder and Glanir's Smoke Bomb still work on other players. The ones that were fixed were Almalexia's Enchanted Lantern, Twilight Shard and Box of Forbidden Relics.
    Mementos
    • Fixed an issue where the visual effects for several mementos would appear around your target instead of correctly appearing around you.
      • This affected the Twilight Shard, Box of Forbidden Relics, and Almalexia’s Enchanted Lantern.

The wasps that "incubate" larvae inside players are all yellow wasps throughout the game, regardless of zone.

Also, Paul Sage's infamous, "expect to be disappointed," line in response to a 300m rumor before launch.

The Daedric Artifacts were available during the beta. Off hand, I remember that Auriel's Bow was a quest reward in Deshaan. I'm unclear if those quests were scrapped entirely, or had their rewards changed. It seems the artifacts were supposed to be beta only, though.

You can still see the items by manually entering their h1:item codes in chat, however.

Incidentally, the Stonefalls fishing glitch yielded both Trueflame and Hopesfire, Nerevar and Almalexia's swords.

Awesome video! I learned a lot.

One thing, I'm not saying it's untrue that werewolves spawn on full moons, but they also will spawn on schedule regardless of the current moon phase... I spent a some time testing it and have pictures of werewolves out when there isn't a full moon. Also, I heard about the Sanguine goats' eyes thing, but I personally haven't been able to verify it, but I've seen bloodfiends spawn when his eyes weren't glowing. I love that goat, named him Baal and have him on my main constantly.

Every time (done it four times now) the goat's eyes has glowed the vampires have been spawned in either of the three zones (for the video I started in Reaper's March, but couldn't find any, so I went to Bangkorai and found them with the help of /zone), so I can confirm that it consistently predicts Bloodfiends spawning.

As for the werewolves, I have never actually been able to find them before and the clip in the video was my first time actually successfully locating them. In the past I thought the goat predicted the werewolves too, but that isn't the case. People who have told me about the werewolves have always mentioned fullmoons, so I assume it's a clear sign of it at least.

I cannot say if they spawn outside of these events, as I've never seen that happen personally.
