This exploit must have been terrible

So bad it's kept us off the platform for what is about, for a casual player, a day

I understand that exploits need to be dealt with.

However dealing with them by turning off the entire platform doesn't seem right.

So we play the game and are exploited. Ok I don't like that.

I can't play the game at all. I like this less

So a "fix" is rushed in but it take longer than expected and drags on

May I suggest that you let us get exploited for an extra day whilst you sort out your fix?

I understand it can be complex so needs some time

If it's bad enough, then no, it may not be worth letting it go for a day.

This is commonplace for I think every patch since Dark Brotherhood. Usually launch day or later during the week the servers have to be brought down for some new major problem that develops that didn't pop up during the PTS cycle.

Your post is way too nice for these people. If I'm an ESO subscriber, I pay 14.99 per month. That's basically 50 cents a day. Yes, I understand 50 cents is not a lot, but that's my hard earned money for the job I perform (and perform adequately and competently mind you) and get paid for. So now I ask, why should I give you, ZOS, my hard earned money every day? Well, at first glance, it's because I'm paying you, the company to provide a medium in which I enjoy as entertainment, and yet, if I cannot enjoy that said medium (which I am paying for), then is it not fair that you provide compensation?

Struggling to see a bad condition that is more that a complete wipe out

so what is worse than not having a game to play at all?

For them to do it this way, and to have it fixed so speedily, you just know the exploit is based in pve. Anything in pvp takes 3 months or more to fix

    PC EU
    PvP only

You get compensation from the company providing your internet if a storm cut the line? Or if they fix security issues? No? Then stop being the special snowflake and suck it up like we all do.

If it's been taken down in an emergency and is taking this long it is serious and needs dealt with as soon as possible. Letting you play and 'get exploited for an extra day' would be stupid and irresponsible.

The server was taken down because the exploits was affecting a lot of accounts; this platform is maintained and kept up for everyone one the PC server, not just you op, and there are a lot of people that would rather it get fixed sooner rather than later. ZoS doesn't arrange their maintenance around your schedule, and it's incredibly naive and selfish to expect them to. Just because you don't think taking the server down is worth it, doesn't mean it wasn't. I get that you want to play the game, but there is never going to be a perfect time to fix exploits and take servers down, so it's best they go down and get fixed before the exploiting gets worse.
