Hi, i tested the PTS and particularly the new house. The housing is awesome ... but the limit is currently too low.
YES i understand that too much furnitures on the houses would impact the server performance ! Until i see this ... i have find a way out of the Hakkvild castle ... and now i understand why the limit is so low .... Falkreath hold details ... Here you can see a video showing that , WHY THE HELL is there so much details ? we can't see them all from the castle ! there is also details at the other side of the map ... the falkreath hold crypt ( yes the one with the draugr boss ) !!
Do you imagine one moment ? if they remove the falkreath hold crypt( i'm not talking of the entrance of the castle ) from the " hakkvild castle map " ... if they remove everything that we can't see from the castle ... this would allow them to incrase the limit to 400... 500 !
And you know ? Maybe it's the case with all the house of tamriel ?

- Note that i don't show the falkreath hold crypt on my video , you can see it on my other video on my channel.
- Between, if a ZOS can take this video for a fix ^^ this would be cool.

Ah, the old days of clever map manipulation.
Here you get to see exactly how the Dev's design these "spaces".

Unfortunately, it looks like they took the cheap route out and simply chiseled off an area of an existing Map without NPC's or collectible items, and then defined an "instance" for said area.
They didnt build this area from scratch at all, probably like they didnt build any of them. They just picked an area with a great view, then said: "Nope, yer locked inside our invisible box, except where you're clever enough to get around it because our design team thinks you're all morons with no critical thinking capability. That, or we just dont care and will wait until someone like you figures it out so we can create an even larger invisible wall, or box, or whatever."

I used to do stuff like this all the time, back when I was an unpaid internal tester for DDO.

    Nice methodology though.

Generally I don't approve of the way Zo$ does housing, but in this case it was intended to be a feature rather than trying to be cheap. They wanted it to overlook Falkreath as it was in the dungeon (which you have to complete to get the house). In this way the house is supposed to be sort of like a massive trophy of your victory in the dungeon.

I wonder if you can place furnishings in the fake Falkreath... That would make the house worth it! Except the fact the furnishing limits aren't even enough for one house, not to mention an entire city...

I thought it was a bit strange that the house icon was so far NW from where you are actually located on the map (even when you are in the tunnels). I assumed it had to do with it's connection to Falkreath Hold.

I really enjoy the fact that you can see the town below and hope they don't change it.

i also enjoy this ... but there is way to much details , and it's why the furnishing limit is so low in the castle ... =

All notable homes have the same item limit, same with classic homes and staple homes. Most of them have some sort of nice view as well. I do not think they will raise the item limit at this time even if the house is moved away from the town. I'm sure they were being careful when they made item limits so low and I also think that they see an opportunity to make gold/money off increasing it in the future, unfortunately.

A big reason why I like the home so much is the view of the town and the mountains, especially since the inside of the house itself is a bit disappointing. I agree with what Tyrobag said, the view was intended. There are multiple viewing areas of the town and the home seems to be left very open so that you can see the surroundings easily. This is a nice change as many manors are surrounded by tall walls and you need to be on the top of a tower or wall to see outside.

I gotta having previewed this house I was suprised with how SMALL it was, sure the grounds are massive, but you walk into this giant structure that looks like it should be a multistory structure and it's one room. this is true for the main hall and both the towers.

TBH unless there is more added to the interior it feels kinda lazy.

I took a tour today and was also surprised that it's only one room. I'm always disappointed that we can't reach towers and upper levels that appear on the outside of houses (though this one does have an accessible tower); however, I've come to expect that the interiors will be smaller than the exteriors in the eso universe (physics are obviously different in a world with magic!) It also reminds me that everything I'm looking at is just 1s and 0s, and then I start thinking about perception and reality instead of immersing myself in the game.

The exterior is enormous, and there is the delightful view, and the ruins and the catacombs which could be filled with strange objects - buyable draugr NPCs? Please make them pop out of sarcophagi! That never gets old.

The feeling I got was that it would work as a guildhall rather than a home. You could hold meetings and duels in the hall and stage miniature battles outside. I always imagine guilds having such events, though I have never actually seen one with my own eyes.

Yes, exactly this. The place was obviously NOT designed to be a home but rather more like a meeting hall. And yet if you preview the "furnished" version there is odd furniture just scattered all over it, including beds. Sorry ZOS, we're not fooled. And there is also a ton of wasted space. You can't get to half of the upper floor, un-use-able "benches" behind a railing ring the place on the main floor and there's no fireplace, which logically there would be in such a place. To create the fireplace, make the "bench" areas into surface areas you can place items on and thus give them some purpose, and bridge the gap in the upper floor as well as create actual living space up there requires a lot of planks, platforms and stone blocks... which hugely eats into your precious and too limited item count.

It really strikes me as a guild hall, which would be absolutely great! But increase the population cap, 24 is way too small for a guild hall.
