I like to do everything in a mmo that way I don't get bored or burnt out. I find the people that hate this game or don't enjoy playing it as much are the people that limit themselves to just one part of it.

You know the funny thing about ESO, we pvp players have to do pve to get gear, and we don't complain. But when pve players have to do something in pvp it's hell on earth man, they destroy the forums.

@Coilbox that's irrelevant to my statement, pve players will never complain about procs because bosses in vmol can't use it against you. Once you feel how it is to be beaten up by a worse player and lose not because of his skill but because of the gear he is using you will understand why balance is important.

Meanwhile we are still forced to do crapDSA or rageMA or whatever else to get gear and there is no going around that time sink.

Ah yes... and I presume both the Golden and the Regional Equipment Vendors force the PvPers into PvE-land then?

You need both to be all round player. Also, I would advise to at least try more than one class, it is most helpful.

Well, might be not relevant, but you just generalised about the fact. Maybe not every PVP player complains about having to do PVE to gear up, but also not every PVE player complains about having to do PVP. Both sides sometimes enjoy the other's...

Anyway, the PVP feature of the game is that, a feature. The PVE side is the main thing, its way bigger. This game was meant as a PVE game originally, allowing a PVP side of course, cause it engages a lot of people. But the bacon is in the PVE experience...

So I was being totally clever with the title. Clever things do have a tendency to also be annoying, though...

There's a very high chance that people who do both are the silent majority. That's the exact reason why ZOS don't want to balance PvP and PvE separately - ZOS have data showing that the majority do both, and balancing PvP & PvE separately will screw up that portion of the playerbase.

I get anxiety knowing that PvP in an MMO will never be balanced, so I don't touch it. I play MOBAs for PvP instead. Exactly the same thing as an MMO, but balanced strictly for PvP.

That was sort of the outcome I was expecting when creating this poll, thus highlighting that the "war" between PvE and PvP doesn't really exist as the clear majority of us do both.
We need more votes though, but the tendency is clear.

I did a little PvP when I played ESO in 2015, but I'm lousy at it, and every 1v1 (when I was going around trying to do quests, and stuff) is a painful loss. Towards the end, when someone ran over to kill me, I just stood there and let him beat me, no use using health potions and other things on a lost cause.

Since I returned about 4-5 months ago, I have only PvE'd, although since I have completed Cadwell's Gold, I may try it again but with a guild. I'm OK PvP'ing in a group, I can hide in the center lol.

I've given up on PvP in ESO. Too broken. Too laggy. Better PvP games exist. Wake me when Cyrodiil is fixed.
