✭✭✭✭✭I like it. I was disappointed by the small size of shields in ESO for a long time. It looked like I was trying to tank bosses with a large broach instead of a substantial piece of defensive armor. The motifs released in the last few years have introduced some really great, large shields. ✭✭✭Really? Most shields in this game can't even be called shields, they are pathetically small, some are as small as a buckler. So the few large shields we do have in the game should stay large. I for example loved it when the faction shields came out cause the EP shield(EP player) was so large, however of course it dyes like crap. But large shields like we have in the single player TES games is something I want to see more of, I remember the large tower shields in morrowind, they were proper shields.2 -

✭✭As I'm married to a life long historical reinactor I can say it's about the right size as a rough average, it's the other shields that are wrong, no sane warrior uses a small shield on a battlefield unless it's a specific role like a buckler shield in a duel2 -

If we're talking about defense in real life terms, Each of these will do fine as a buckler. A shield this size wouldn't even be usable because it's pure metal but we're not talking real life here.Edited by dueldragon on July 27, 2017 6:03PM0 -

It is a right size, Albeit too heavy considering it's made of metal (I know the crafting says "wood" but it's still mostly metal)
But I'm just sayin, I don't mind the size that much, It's a beautiful shield but I'd just like it a bit smaller, that's all, Not like it's going to happen.

Small shields were a bother to me as well, Trust me, I love the large shields as anyone else, I really like real medieval arms and weapons, I know how real shields look like, but just don't think it looks that good on the DC shield, I'm not saying I think it should be small as the stupid maple Dunmer shield,

The shield is just a bit, well, fat, and looks more like a shell. These don't.
It could also look rather big because of the sword when seeing the size difference while sheathed

I agree. Most of the shields in the game look like little dueling shields from the Renaissance period. Edit: I also want to note that with the evolution of plate mail, the use of shields became less prevalent. While they were useful, a small sword would have difficulty penetrating the full body platemail, chainmail, and brigandine that a knight would wear.
