✭✭✭✭✭I forget the details of how, but when I pre-ordered MW I got a free crate. I have never bought one and don't care for spending real money unless I KNOW what I'm going to get - so actually buying one is never gonna happen. That said, I very much enjoyed the free one as a gift and am looking forward to 5 more free ones as a thanks for being a long-term ESO+ subscriber.
That all said, I actually would spend real money to buy numerous things in the crate store if they were straight up normal purchases. For example, I would readily put down xx crowns for a palamino horse but I won't put any crowns down to buy mystery boxes full of 'hope'. Hint hint.PC NA(no Steam), PvE, mostly solo10 -

I got a crate with my MW preorder and got a costume I already owned - so sum total was about 8 crown gems with nothing to show for it - was really disappointed tbh

Invoca✭✭✭Only got 1 Nix-Hound at least. Got a Dwarven Horse, Dwemer Monocle thing, Hand of Almalexia costume, Clavicus Vile Banner and rest consumables. Ended up with 59 gems. Shame we can't convert mounts, costumes and pets unless they're duplicates but oh well.0 -
