Don't sleep on TBS in vHoF. With all the resource drain mechanics, it's pretty strong with Thief/Atro.

Don't sleep on TBS in vHoF. With all the resource drain mechanics, it's pretty strong with Thief/Atro.

Those resource-draining mechanics are exactly why you shouldn't run any regen imo. vHoF in particular is the best trial to run full damage setups.

What people have generally found so far is that full damage+Heavy Attack setups and damage/regen pre-Morrowind style light attack rotation setups put out the same damage under normal conditions (like against a target skeleton).

In vHoF, you will be drained of resources no matter what.

A full damage+Heavy Attack setup gains resources enough by heavy attacking to sustain while dealing full damage. They also can expend lots of Magicka by using the light attack rotation for a bit to achieve high burst damage (only sustainable for a few rotations) against enemies that are troublesome or bosses like 3rd boss vHoF. When being resource-drained, their rotation is still Heavy Attack -> DoTs -> Heavy Attack with plenty enough sustain to continue.

A setup with Regen and Damage uses the classic pre-Morrowind nerfs light attack rotations. However, if resource drained you will have to spam heavy attacks just like a full damage setup, but without full damage. It's just not worth it at least in vHoF.

These are from my own experiences so far at least :)

I think it might even become a new meta... :o:lol:

    https://forums.elderscrollsonline.com/en/discussion/358541/pts-patch-notes-v3-1-0/p1

Mundus got buffed so yeah... having a mixture of divine or Infused (it got buffed to 30%) and prosperous (it now gives stamina & magicka recovery):
"it now grants 11 Health, Magicka, and Stamina Recovery as a gold-quality item, instead of gold gain."

Hell it might not be a bad idea....

On the other hand 90% of build uses thief mundus... and it was nerfed
"The Thief: Reduced Critical Strike Chance to 9% from 11%."

But I guess people will just use precise trait instead of sharpened to compensate for that....
"Precise: Increased the Critical Strike Chance granted to 9% from 7%."
"Sharpened: Reduced the Spell and Physical Penetration granted to 2752 from 5160."

So theory crafters will have a new job to do....

Yep there's a lot to do. From the looks of it NB could potentially be as good as Sorc next patch for DPS due to the slight Ilambris nerf and buffs to Critical chance (mainly helps NBs due to passives).

Tons of good ways to build next patch and lots to test.

Not sure how TBS will ever be at the top again ... it was what it was due to being able to add The Shadow, which got multiplied by Major Force.

    Nowadays ...

Think about it in comparison to Hunding's Rage (or Julianos).

Run TBS with The Lover + The Warrior ... and you've basically just got Hunding's + The Lover, minus the big weapon crit bonuses.

Really? Even with the changes to all the mundus?

Depends on the stats you are looking for but dps-wise its not really worth it.

Let's say you have the thief for the crit boost (or whatever) and now you take additionally the apprentice/ the warrior for 238 (355 with 7 legendary divine traits) more spell/ weapon dmg.

twice born star offers 2) max hp 3) max stamina 4) max magicka
while a legendary set of law of julanios/ hundings rage offers 300 spell/ weapon dmg + crit chance + magicka/ stamina.

The 2,3 and 4 set bonuses of tbs are just not ideal for a pure stamina/ magicka dps character.

Why do you think it will be the new hotness?

The Thief and Shadow were the only buffs worth using with the set and they aren't getting buffed. None if the other bonuses are as strong as what can be found on other 5pc sets.

Sorry I don't think TBS will be any more desirable than it is now. Plus that set was never worth the tediousness of going back to the mundus stone every time you want to PvE (assuming most people do at least a little PvP).

It will be nice to use TBS (or any crafted set) again.

I for one would love to actually use my character's crafting skills and go back to a 9 trait set and certain style, instead of farming mindless and ugly drop sets.

    Let's see.

Skyrim was built with an ideology in mind: crafting always produced the best equipment & potions. ZOS took this and ran with it up to launch. Unfortunately, they have strayed from that ideology.

In PvP, why would a magDK not wear an armor set that gives, 1,092 max health, max stamina, max magicka and has a 5 piece bonus that is 238 Magicka recovery and 238 spell damage? Good bye Kag's!

They'd have 238 magicka recovery anyway,.. TBS only gives one extra mundus stone.
Compare that to Amberplasm (300 Stam recovery and 300 magicka recovery on the five piece)

Amberplasm is more than twice as good, and has more dmg based 2-4 slot bonuses as well

Can't say I agree, TBS gives max health and also gives 238 spell damage rather than 129. The stamina recovery is unnecessary for a lot of builds.

I think the best part about the changes and twice born is that it's customizable to your character/playstyle and the gap got closer to bis gear. This also opens up what you can run as your 2nd set!
