I hope the devs deal with these ESO dupers/cheaters soon

I recently read a thread regarding Russian cheaters/dupers that were botting/duplicating items. The proofs were substantial and the thread was deleted rather quickly. I'm not going to add any names for obvious reasons but the evidence was overwhelming and well, disheartening, that cheating/duping in such a scale is even possible.

Anyone else seen the thread? You can see the original thread in other ESO forums outside of this forum by the way.

I don't speak or read any language but English but i don't see any proof or duping? everyone knows people sell gold of every game. and we all see the bots.. but wheres the duping proof? was it in one of the Russian pictures?

well yeah... that's how people sell gold.. they dont do it by not playing the game.. but where is the duping they speak of


EDIT: im totally with you guys, on this! i think im coming off wrong.. but lets call it what it is. their bots. unless someone is actually duping.. but i think we need to give ESO crap for letting botters be around for months especially obvious ones.

The amounts of mats are ridiculous. Theyre either duped or obtained by botting for a very long time (and on several accounts).
And according to info on Russian site, that bs is going on for a while.

I suspect that Craglorn trader you are mentioning here is the result of non-stop botting that's been running since One Tamriel was released. If I logged on right now it would take me maybe 2 minutes to go find a train of them.. they are almost in every single map in the game.

I was going to put together a thread of all of their botting locations with screenshots, etc but.. it's hard to have that kind of motivation when Zenimax shows none in combating them.

Well in this case its still a shame that so many precious dust spawns ended up in golsellers pockets instead of dropping to regular players. >.<

Its either duping (Which would most likely kill ESO another duping scam)

OR

Botting on a large scale that ZoS firstly didn't notice and secondly didn't act on.


Frankly almost every aspect has been exploited in ESO, the players most of all.

The thing is that people report BOTS all the time. Multiple people report he same bot trains. If they are seen in game after a reasonable amount of time after being reported so much, it kind of leads one to think that ZOS isn't going to remove the bots, and they don't care if they are in the game. Which sucks. I remember there was one in Wrothgar for months that people kept checking on and reporting. It should absolutely not take months to remove a single bot. If multiple people are reporting the same thing, it should be taken care of quickly. I'm going to check tonight on a bot train that I know multiple people reported, myself included, to see if they are still there. To me, it has been enough time to know 100% they are not real players.

I generally try to stay out of these topics, because they get heated, I get heated, and it makes playing the game something I have less desire to do.

True...
Its very disheartening, to be honest. I like this game and I find it really embarrasing that ZOS takes cheating and exploiting so lightly. And those goldsellers and cheaters know that, so they exploits so blatantly, taking any advantage they can to earn rl money and ruin game economy (which isnt in a healthy state to begin with). And ZOS... They dont care about banning bots. They dont care about exploiters in leaderboards. They ban exploiters for 24-72 hours, allowing them to keep all their ill-gotten mats and gold. Seriously, wth is that?
It seems like botters, goldsellers and other scumbags are more valuable for them than honest players.

I agree that something is going on. Really hurting the trade business when jfgghxdf(made up name), is selling 500 to 1000 temps for 3k a piece in zone chat on Xbox NA. I am desperate for legendary upgrade mats right now, but no way will I buy from these jerks. Makes it hard to sell them on GT at the normal price. I might add that SOME guilds promote this. They buy cheap from these suppliers and resell or use themselves.

I farm nearly everything on my own so they aren't profiting off of me. I finally started using guild traders but only purchased some food recipes.

I've been playing this game since beta and it may feel like ZOS may ignore a lot of issues, but cheaters and gold farmers they do not tolerate.

Well done ZOS! It's a huge reason why I keep playing (well other than the obvious content ): no gold spammers or RMTs ingame which is so very refreshing when compared with other MMOs.

How is this obvious?. A company with some transparency?. Have you identified any duping?. Have you identified players yet?. How many players/scale are we talking?.

Why dont you release information like other gaming companies?. Players deserve to be more informed of what happens in the game on a wider scale.


Additionally @ZOS_GinaBruno can you take another 30 seconds from your day and maybe answer 1 out of many questions players have wasted their time in posting in the Cheating and Exploiting thread. Seemingly it has been ignored well over 9 months.
Personally i find it hard to take your 'assurances' when ZOS are clearly neglecting a topic they made about exploiting on the official forums.

so ... coming back just this past week as a player who hasn't played the game since the first year of release... and it looks like we're having the same problems we did three years ago.

Bots are still a thing and ZOS still isn't doing anything, and all it takes is a "we're working on it" from the booth babe and every thirsty individual here rolls over. That's delightful.

You can't divulge certain details for obvious reasons, but what can your players expect? What percentage of bot reduction by what point in time? Telling your customers "we plan to remove at least 40% of the bots within the next two months" will give them something to hold onto and look forward to. At the same, it's something to hold you accountable with. It's called a goal. If you fail that goal enough times, your skill/aptitude and/or focus comes into light.

"We're working it" is nothing more than fool's gold.

I want to share with you all the facts behind the gold selling business. I was a gold supplier for a long time for a company (and companies). I will not list the game, but it was a part of my past for which I am ashamed. I was younger, didn't know any better, etc.

- Today it is rare and unprofitable for a Gold Selling Company to employ farmers/bot accounts. Most of the bots you see are individual players like me and you who become "suppliers" for gold selling companies (almost like independent contractors) except no contract.
- Gold Sellers have a list of suppliers. When you purchase gold, the company then contacts all it's suppliers and asks them to supply the gold directly to you. Figures are examples, but lets say you pay $10.00 for 200k gold. The gold company takes your money, pays $5.00 to the supplier for the 200k gold and has him/her mail it to you directly. They're basically a middleman service.

It's quite the scheme actually, all the risk is on the supplier/buyer. The gold selling company no longer has to worry about purchasing new accounts and getting banned because they can continue to operate with new suppliers.

The way you guys can combat the gold selling system is to stop buying gold.
