That is so weak . Why would anyone want a title they didn't fight long and hard to obtain ? That must be a slap in the face to all the hard working raid leaders that earned Emperorship legit . I hope that real PvP'ers go in there and rain on their parade .

Dont get me wrong, if i was at top spot when ZOS announced the server was being closed I would be trying my hardest to keep it. I certainly wouldnt be paying anyone RL cash though.

A disproportionate number of MMO players are status obsessed, so I'm not surprised. I mean, this is a game in which people will pay up to hundreds of dollars for a shiny and loud mount, so why not an exclusive title?

Plus this probably isn't the first time someone has tried to buy emp.

I don't even use my Former Emp title. I can't imagine wanting it that much. It was fun being OP, and maybe I'll do it again just so I'll be a better emp next time... but that's about it. Master Angler? Now that's an impressive title.

But people also pay for carries to get vMoL skins and such, so it's no surprise.

Barring a major guild deciding to invade Almalexia tomorrow might and destroy his/her hopes and dreams, they'll probably get it. But that screenshot has been circulating minus the edits to appease Zeni's naming and shaming rules, so their title might bring more derision than prestige.

For those of us that have been here for a while, the negotiations for Emp title were much more entertaining when the emp passives were in effect at all times.

Way before CP was a glimmer in the brain trust at ZOS, you'd have people negotiating cross faction to get the title over various campaigns. You'd have zerg guilds getting many of their people emp title. So you'd have 3-8 people in a group getting Tactician passive.

They would blow up keeps fast.

The tears were real, you think proc set crying is bad? When you entered cyrodiil back then, you had to put on a life jacket for fear of drowning in the flood.

I don't want to derail this thread with old salt wounds. Let's just agree that at least I wasn't trying to kill the server, or use a trade guild to monopolize emp.

I was distraught over Magdk getting gutted, and wanted to relive 1.5 magdk. I also just wanted to farm stones. .

It was also by pure chance, no one but zenimax knew that thornblade was closing. It was a big surprise for everyone and ever since then due to feedback, they now announce with short notice when a server will be closed.

Weird, they still didn't fix it. How can one be a current emperor - of what? If that campaign doesn't exist anymore. A simple if-else statement should easily fix it.

^This here kinda kills it... i mean i'd rather get crowned emperor again in the future than have a bugged out title. Emperor title just makes people focus you down more so it's not even good to have unless you're a tank or something.

And yeah people always offer gold to the people on the top of the leaderboard or cry in whispers to let them have emp. Happened to me and friends & guildies. Pretty much anyone that makes it to #1 on the leaderboard gets bombarded with tells of this nature. The best ones are if your faction isn't even capable of taking the inner ring anyway... so it's like even if you let them have #1 on the leaderboard it's not like they are gonna get crowned emp anyway.

I would imagine it's one of those things which either has never actually been reported as a bug (if it it has it was missed) and as such no internal defect flag has been raised, or they simply don't feel it's worth wasting dev time fixing.

I mean it's dumb and players get really dumb over it (like above) but it's not game breaking nor harming people, if anything it actually creates more PvP on the last nights of those campaigns as people who know about it fight hard for it.

Yes. He's asked me to feed him, some DC, some EP. He even asks the usual #1 to drop emp/campaign for him (although Kas will never admit it because they're friends).

I'm friends with him as well, but you can really see how much it means to him and some others lol.
