Let's assume for a moment that the crowns would be payed out in 1-month intervalls, as you suggested. In that scenario you wouldn't have had enough crowns to buy that motif you'd wanted. As a consequence you would have most likely gone to the forums and complained about not getting all crowns upfront.

People just love to complain.
PS: What you're looking for is not a divine intervention from ZOS, but personal finance responsibility.

I don't doubt that if the crowns were issued monthly when the subscription payment was made entirely upfront then there'd be no end of posts complaining about disgraceful cash-grabbing tactics. If you pay upfront, you should get the benefits upfront too.

Because you backed up your request with reasons like:

"Many times, due to the Crowns only being given at the start of each 3 Month period it means me and others like myself get screwed over whenever there is a limited time sale and we have already spent our crowns on other things a month prior."

I disagree with your point here as, because the motif wasn't limited time, if I really wanted it I could save up as it wouldn't leave the crown store, then, in the process of saving up the limited time sale would happen, I'd buy the limited time costume and the only consequence would be having to weight an extra month for buying the Motif that I wanted

I am really close to breaking down here (Cos I get emotional easily) because I spoke to everyone in the post with respect and simply talked about why I would like what I posted about and 90% of the responses I get are people acting like complete *** towards me as if I'm some self entitled person raging about something. Maybe I am in the wrong here and other are in the right but, it's possible to be right without being an *** towards the person who's wrong.

There were a couple of people being dismissive and disrespectful, but not the majority of us. Maybe you see our input as hostile because you don't want to hear it. You get emotional easily, and that's never a good sign for things like this. That's impulse control, which ties into your main issue of asset management.

I don't understand how splitting them out every month would have changed anything. Am I missing something? Is it that the thing would not have been purchased then, therefor there would be more crowns now? Is that it?

I apologize if you took my comments as some sort of attack? They weren't meant as such.

I don't know if I'd necessarily say that you're in the wrong - if you prefer to have your crowns doled out in installments, rather than a lump sum, that is your opinion and you are entitled to it. For me, however, I purchased the sub specifically for the lump sum of crowns, so that I could buy and furnish houses. It would irritate me if I had to wait several months to be able to buy what I want.

What's good for the goose isn't necessarily good for the gander.

What Swtor does is they allow you to overlap payments so if you don't want to purchase CC directly you can add more sub time on for the monthly CC's instead but ESO doesn't do that wish they did.

So I don't see why they can't print batches of retail ESO+ cards. It would be a convenient way for current members to buy crowns and simultaneously extend their subscriptions. You're simply trading up the bulk crown discount for other perks.

Sure, somebody may go to Target and use their red card and save a few dollars per purchase. But after Amazon blowing out Morrowind CE boxes for $30 and ZOS already doing one Morrowind sale on their own site... so what? It's not the end of the world if a customer feels better about a purchase. Seriously.

You can actually purchase crown codes from certain retailers, like GameStop, which will be printed off on your receipt. I've done that exactly once. Easy peasy.

EDIT: And generally, you don't see sales on gift or timecards for a reason. They're not offered by the pertinent business, and very, very rarely by the retailers themselves.

One thing emerges here, OP's budget skills apart, as I think most of us have made our point on that subject......limited time items that are only available for four or so days can and do make things difficult for some players.

It's not just a matter of finance control, but also that as some have pointed out, if you happen to be AFK for those four days then you are screwed anyway.

A few people have suggested two weeks as being a reasonable time for limited items. I do agree with this. Maybe @ZOS could look into it?

Probably because of your reasoning. You can't bring yourself to save your crowns over the months in case something good comes out as a limited option. You want ZOS to change how they do business to suit your needs.

If you look at what happens over 180 days, starting from zero crowns and not spending any, the 180 day sub gives you an average of 9000 crowns on hand on any given day, where as the 30 day sub only gives you an average of 5250 crowns on hand. With the 180 day sub, if a limited time offer comes up on any given day for 5K crowns, you have a 100% chance to have enough crowns on hand. With the 30 day sub, you only a 50% chance! So one is in a much better position to have crowns on hand to buy something of significance with the 180 day sub than with the 30 day sub. That is, unless you decide to blow it all, which is your decision, so please accept the responsibility for your own actions and don't screw it up for the rest of us!

I know when I do my next 3 month sub, Ill probably spend them all right away, as well as add the cheapest crown package to get the Banker, and I'm cool with being crownless for 3 months till my next sub. I had 500 crowns in my account, and when I got my sub I bought the merchant and I'm very happy with her. Great for selling on the fly. It's a shame the fence you unlock still acts like the ones in the TG and doesnt have it's own limit of selling/fencing. They both share the same counter.... And others cant use her like the banker and merchant. At least she was free unlock. I would want a refund if I paid REAL $$$ for her.

The option already exists: subscribe 1 month at a time, renewing each month.

1500 every month, to save or spend as you choose. Someone else already suggested it in this very topic.



You can't have the special reduced price of X-months-at-a-time AND only get Crowns when you want said Crowns.

When I get paid by my employer, I purposely don't spend it all at once. That way, I don't have to tell them to pay me at more intervals.

This thread seems surreal to me.

Crowns do not expire. You do not have to spend them. Learn to save. Learn to hold off gratification now for something better in the future. Learn to do it here and it will pay off more generally.

I see the point, but at the same time you knwo there could be stuff you want later down the line and you need to control yourself.

Why they can't just give them 1500/month though since they are ESO+ members doesn't make much sense. Since they pay for the 90 days in one chunk even they quit and cancelled after getting that third month they still paid for the month technically
