Disadvantage for people with longer sub models

Hey,

I am currently on a 90 Day ESO Plus subscription model meaning at the start of every 90 Day period I get 4500 Crowns. This is better value than the 30 Day ESO Plus model and I am normally quite happy with it.

However

Many times, due to the Crowns only being given at the start of each 3 Month period it means me and others like myself get screwed over whenever there is a limited time sale and we have already spent our crowns on other things a month prior.

With so many limited time deals popping up right now the people with longer subscription models lose out or, have to end up buying more Crowns if they really want something that is on limited sale. It seems really unneeded. I would prefer if the 90 day and 180 day Subscription model users could have an option to get their 1500 Crowns every month for 3 months rather than 4500 at the start of each payment period.

I quite like the look of some of the limited stuff but I'm not gonna buy more Crowns because I feel that would be ridiculous as I already get them with my sub :/

So... Yeah, that's all.

P.S - If you tell me 'Don't worry they will probably be in Crown Crates later this year' then I will [snip] personally have a conversation about how I strongly dislike gamble crates.

After Reading Responses: Ok, so after reading all my feedback to this post I've learned something every important. If you ever buy anything from the Crown Store such as a Motif or Costume that isn't 'Limited Time Only' you're a complete idiot with 'No self Control' and you deserve to have abuse hurled at you. Great.

If you only subbed for one month you're only getting 1500 that month and the total for all the limited time things (this week for example) is 6100 crowns so you'd still have to buy more anyway, supposing the same, that you already spent previous ESO+ crowns.

Can't you just limit yourself to only spending 1500 crowns per month? Or 3000 if you don't buy anything in one month, etc? Rather than blowing them all when you get them?

I mean you get the exact same amount of crowns so I see no problem on ZOS's part here, but maybe I'm just missing something

How are you getting screwed though? You're getting the exact same amount of crowns as everyone else. Your complaint seems to be about individual crown management; it's not up to ZOS to do that for you.

So you're complaining because you have no self control with your crowns and you expect ZoS to regulate your usage of them by limiting them to each month?

I don't see how this is them grabbing as much cash as they can. Sure, the limited time sales are, but it was your choice to either have a recurring monthly sub or pay in full for a certain period. If you don't like this, then switch to a monthly sub.

Not saying I want to buy everything. But looking at the situation from the date being the sixth, If the crowns were rewarded monthly instead of tri monthly I would be able to purchase those things with the small amount of remainign crowns that I have.

    @Voxicity

I could limit myself to only spending 1500 crowns a month, however ZOS releases limited time stuff rather frequently and my mindset normally thinks 'that looks awesome, I'll get it because I have spare crowns to spend and the crowns are just a bonus of the subscription that I'd probably pay anyway

As others have said, don't blow it all at once. Learn to budget, like in real life. Then you will still have some crowns left to buy that limited time stuff when it appears in the store.

If you think about it, for younger players it's good training for taking care of your finances in the future. So don't slam ZOS for a feature that could actually be quite useful in life skills.

Yep Yep... I got my 180 days sub that renew on the 12 of july, the day after the end of the "limited offer" too bad, i really wanted the new assassin personality.

And on a side note i will never buy extra crowns...

I like the existing arrangement. I'm on a 6 months sub on both my accounts and I like having all my crowns up front so I can use them as and when I want over the 6 months instead of having to wait until I've amassed enough only to find that what I want isn't available any more.

That's the theory of it anyway, although in practice there's little I do want - really only a couple of furnished houses thus far but they're easily funded by getting a decent supply of crowns in one go.

And if I buy a 90 day sub with my real life money, I want the crowns that come with that price up front. I don't want the crowns I purchased to be rationed out over time like I'm a child. In fact I would be furious if I paid good money and ZOS held back the crowns I paid for like that just because some people are bad at budgeting.

You just need to save your crowns.

Getting them monthly doesn't change at all how many crowns you get. You just need to limit yourself so you do have crown leftover.

As others suggest, limit yourself to only spending 1500 (sub) crowns each month, and it'll be the same as if you did get them monthly.

I, as a 180 day subscriber, quite enjoy getting all my crowns up front. I then budget accordingly. This way though, I DO have enough crowns if one month I want 2000 crowns worth of stuff. If I was only getting 1500 a month.. well then, I'd be short.

Also, wow. That is a alot of hostile responses to a fairly calm and light post. The arguments that I don't have 'self control' amuse me. I spent my crowns on things that I wanted prior to the limited time sales. I think last month I bought a motif I didn't know for a Master Writ, the statements saying I shouldn't buy things and have more 'self control' by just waiting for the sales are ridiculous as then I would never getting around to buying the things I'd like that aren't on limited time?

But you DO have that option! You can renew monthly. For just a dollar more a month, you can have it exactly the way you want it.

If Zos metered out the crowns in a monthly basis then OP just might be creating a thread stating that if he had gotten the crowns in a lump sum he could afford the items this month.

Clearly there was a reason he/she spent the crowns already.

P.S - If you tell me 'Don't worry they will probably be in Crown Crates later this year' then I will break into your house in the middle of the night while you're sleeping, wake you up then have a conversation about how I strongly dislike gamble crates.

Your issue here isn't some kind of predatory cash shop scheme, or some flaw in the system.

    Your issue is asset management.

If you know that limited time offers do occasionally appear in the crown store, why do you habitually spend yourself down to the last crown within your first month? You have the tools to correct your issue, you just need to realize what the issue actually is. Manage your money responsibly.

If you wanted those things prior to the limited time sales, you would still be out of crowns. It really sounds like you actually don't have as much self control as you believe you do. You can take this as a personal attack, as hostile and judgmental if it really makes you feel better, but it's too little, too late.

You think you have problems? I pre-purchased 2 years worth of ESO+, just for the crowns, and I spent all my crowns in less than 6 months.

Nah, that's my own fault though. :)

And before anyone tries to insinuate something, I'm not some overweight gambling addict neckbeard living in my parents' basement using their credit cards to buy crown crates. I have my own basement and my own credit cards, thank you very much. :p
