This is why i think people need to think about the money they spend on this game, and what you will actually get in return, especially on console.

I have spent the last couple of days going over The better business bureaus records of complaints/reviews for ZOS. Honestly i feel a little sketched out writing this post because some of the things i read on there. I want people to be aware of what they are dealing with here, while playing this game and spending money on it. I hold no grudge against the people at zos, and i actually like many of them, but something has to change here. The way players are being treated is unbelievable and the way the game is being maintained on xbox is unforgivable. I cant speak to other platforms, but here on xbox pvp is unplayable and has been for a long time. No comment from zos on it, about if its the xbox hardware or something else. Seemingly no plans for the future to fix it. But after looking at the records this is just the tip of the iceberg. You should all look at zenimax's better business bureau records. Yes some of the complaints are trivial, but many are not. Look at some of the responses they give. One i read was someone saying how many things we pay for on xbox are not working and haven't been for months, zenimax said this:

"Additionally, per our Terms of Service found at https://www.zenimax.com/legal terms us which you have agreed to in order to use the game service, please note that each service is provided to you on an "as is" and "as available" basis. If you are not satisfied with the quality, functionality, availability, accessibility, or performance of the game service, you may cancel your account or your subscription or membership to the service at any time."

Just to clarify, service can mean anything in this game (DLCs, crown store items, merchant/banker etc.) So meaning that if the stuff that you pay for does not work then to bad for you, either quit or deal with it.

There are many more and worse. I just wanted to point this out so people can know what they are in for when dealing with this company. Please read some of the reviews on the BBB website i will link, there are some horror stories. I have put in tickets and given information about where the unplayable lag is happening (everywhere but i have been specific). I have written many forum posts, and looked at others, all of them get ignored. I have no problem siding with zenimax when they are right, and yes sometimes they are, but more often then not things are their fault. Performance issues, wrongful bans, and especially a very poor customer service, are huge problems in TESO.

Heres the link if you want to read some of the reviews and i hope you do.
https://www.bbb.org/greater-maryland/business-reviews/internet-gaming/zenimax-online-studios-in-hunt-valley-md-90260471/reviews-and-complaints

Most of my group ends up quitting every day because of the lag in cyrodil.. Usually there are people flipping out in area chat.. Yesterday it was the worst ive ever seen it. At a keep, after pvping for a couple hours everyone was freezing and glitching around. And i know this was happening for the other alliance at the keep to because they were getting killed while freezing or glitching all over. Even at our alliance gate.. Someone hopped in our party and logged in, he was lagging at the gate, and he said screw this im out. This has been going on for so many months. When zenimax can ignore key issues in this game for sooo long, Especially here on xbox, it really feels like they just dont care about players at all. PVP is a key part of this mmo.

Zos, Why cant you be honest with us about the lag, or give us some information about it and let us know you're working on it or that its not going to be fixable? I mean even if you are working on it people want to see some progress, not decline! Like anything, just some answers. Its hard to keep loving a game that has only gotten worse ( with lag on xbox ) for 6+ months, and looks like it has no future. I love the scenery, questing, nostalgia, and the new DLC's you bring. But its hard to play when so much does not work, customer service does not help, and you ignore forum posts. I have put to much time into eso to quit, so like many others im going to end up playing very casually because competitive eso is dead on xbox. And with no updates on a fix or an offer to platform swap to PC the outlook seems pretty bleak.

Something needs to change and i hope it does before its run into the ground. I could get on any mmos i used to play or start one of the mmos coming out in the near future, but i dont want to. I want this game to simply work, and i dont think thats asking to much. Even if it was wrothgar one week, ICP the next, vma the next, etc, i wouldnt care. But the issues on xbox are constant non stop for months and months and people are sick of it. I have spent a lot of time and money on this game and i know plenty of others who have to, we deserve a pvp environment that just works!!!! or some answers!!!!! Zenimax listens to two things. Large public uproar, either on the forums or from multiple tickets, and streamers. Thats it, and thats sad because i dont think all that many people from xbox use the forums.

If anyone actually reads through half of those complaints on that website, i will be SHOCKED if you are not SHOCKED with what zenimax says.

If you want to see something interesting and if you have some time, look up a company like blizzard on the BBB, see how many complaints they have, and then read those complaints and see how blizzard has real people talk to those people complaining. Sometimes in live chats. Read how they interact with their customers, It almost seems like they go off of a "customer is usually right" basis. They get their customers issues resolved. This does not happen here, and i really dont understand why we cant even get close to that. Im not saying blizard is perfect at all, but it seems like they really try to resolve/communicate with their customers. And no, i dont want to go play wow. I want to play eso. Zenimax has made a better mmo, IMO, but i actually want to be able to play eso, the game i bought, on the console i bought it on. Or at least get an option to change to PC.

Thanks to anyone who took the time to read this and to all players be cautious when spending a lot on this game, it can all be taken away for no reason, no answers, and no accountability. This game has the elder scrolls name, and with that comes a lot of elder scrolls fans who play for that reason. Hopefully zenimax changes and proves me wrong. And i will give them credit with one thing, it did seem like they were listening to players more with the last couple updates, changing things on the patch notes ect. But Still, the horrible customer service here and with tickets needs to change, and the unplayable state of certain things ( especially cyrodil ) on xbox has to change.

Blizzard banned my Diablo 3 game for no reason and I got no answer from them. ZOS support helped me a number of times when I had problems, latest was for my morrowind retailer shipping the game wrong 3 times so I got suspended(which was a harsh action), but got help in 24h.

    ESO is not an "investment".

You pay for what you get. If you are paying for more than you get, that is on you. If you are paying for less than you get, wonderful!

Comparing Blizzard to ZOS is pointless. Two completely different things. ESO is more self-serve and community supported, and is definitely "as-is".

For many, that is good enough. Myself included.

OP - bear in mind that many people have different priorities and interests in this game.

Honestly they could completely remove all forms of PvP from ESO and I'd never notice, except for reading about it on the forum. So how it runs on your computer is a non-issue to me and doesn't remotely factor into my decision making when I buy things in the game. Likewise I've had conversations about the frustrating jumping physics (the slow falling bug, the unpredictable landings, the tendency towards invisible walls etc.) where several people involved tell me they've never noticed - it doesn't prevent them bunny hopping in combat so as far as they can tell jumping is perfectly fine.

And even with stuff I do care about, I don't imagine that if I choose to buy crowns this week someone at ZOS is suddenly going to be aware that a particular bug has been bothering me and the purchase will prompt them to fix it. I think the people who fix the bugs have their own list of work that needs doing and their own way of prioritising it and reports run off by an entirely separate team on the week/month's crown store sales and their plans for what to do with the money have very little impact on it.

Of course they need money from the crown store/subs/box sales etc. to pay the people who fix the bugs but I think it's highly unlikely anyone has the time or the inclination to try and collect and interpret enough data to say "X item was our best seller this week and people who bought it say Y bug is annoying them the most, so that's our priority to fix this week!" When there are much more sensible ways to prioritise work.

Ok but OP specifically states money in his opening paragraph. He's clearly speaking of spending money on and in the game.

He goes on in a manner of business and not about the investment of time or at least to a much lesser degree. A great majority of the complaints he posts out at the BBB are customer service complaints which is an area of most MMOs that lack. Zos isn't setting the bar lower based on my experience here and elsewhere.

Oh okay so should i change the name to " before wasting more time or money"...? Its not about money as much as time, but even if you dont spend a DIME and play the game for 2 years the same can be said. A game isnt supposed to be a waste, its called playing to have fun. And for the most part i do have fun. But things just keep going down hill. When you cant play content in a game that you are paying for there is a problem. When its constant and not fixed it is a problem. When you cant get any answers or help from customer service it is a problem. I am not saying zenimax are bad people, or they have a bad game, actually its the opposite. But what im saying in this post is they are neglecting key parts of this game on a certain platform, have been for a long time, and from what I've read the answer seems to be deal with it or leave. I dont think its fair and im pointing it out, giving my opinion and leaving some information linked so people can look if they want to. Personally I think we deserve some answers. If you dont want to look at it okay, if you already know this and play/pay then cool, so do I.

If anyone is from xbox, and pvps alot, please tell me im wrong. Mechanics aside, im talking unplayable lag. No answers in tickets, or on the forums. And its been like this for a lonngg time. Vmaw, wrothgar, vma, dungoen finder, and just overall lag, ya thats been continuously bad and probably has been on PC as well.. But when every day any group im in has every single person crashing in cyrodil multiple times, Or when most people from every alliance at any decent size fights are freeze frame glitching the whole time, then its a serious problem. When this happens for well over 6 months without a single post or ticket getting an answer, is that right? Does that seem like good customer support?

As for comparing elder scrolls online game to wow the game, im not. Im saying look at the difference in customer service on this single website.. From what i read the difference is staggering. And thank you @JKorr for linking that, i know and i am completely aware thats how it is. The difference is how each company acts, not whats in their TOS. Just because a company has the power to let a game to hell, not say a thing about it, offer any comment on it, and not be held liable for it, doesn't mean they are going to do that. Zos cant even give a simple answer about the state of xbox, just misdirection. Things like resetting your modem or contacting your ISP. They are blatantly lying about this issue. Anyway, The point was that the games been really messed up on xbox for a long time, pvp is broken with abysmal unplayable lag ( a key part of this mmo !), and it seems like zos doesnt care. Heres a link to some things that they say about it when people complain, it takes time to read through, take it or leave it.

@DRXHarbinger yes you are 100% right, sadly its doubtful that it will change and i am part of the problem. Its just a message for people that might not know that this is the outlook zos has on it, and a link to see what they have said to people asking for help.. It will be my last message about it.. Ill keep putting in my bug reports and posting in the bug section about the lag, like a good boy, to no avail per usual. Annd when i end up buying the new xbox ill see how it is, and if its still this bad ill do what you said with the disc.

There is nothing out of the norm here. This is a video game, they are under no obligation to fix anything at all. I have been playing video games since the early 80s and its only fairly recently that developers have even bothered to fix issues at all, prior to that, the as-is sale is what it was. I am happy they are actively working to fix issues myself, I am certainly not going to make them out to be monsters because they don't fix them on my schedule.

If you look at any Game on a BBB Website, it is going to be filled with complaints, because complainers gonna complain, to everyone.

That being said, I have blown more money than the game cost on meals at a restaurant that I would not feed my dog.

The $15 a month I spend on the sub is less than the price of a comic book movie that I have no desire to watch. $9 for the ticket, and $6 for the tiny tub of over salted popcorn and a watered down soda. For my sub to this game, I get 1 to 4 hours of entertainment each day, where as that movie would have bored me for 90 Minutes, after watching 15 minutes of adds, one time.

I feel my entertainment investment is well spent and is showing a good return.

@josiahva Do you think if only the campaign worked in halo or COD, and the pvp was damn near unplayable, the devs would just let it be and not address or fix it for months and months. Not in the majority of games in my experience. Maybe single player games, but even then not so much. Although they are 2 different worlds.

@Giles.floydub17_ESO how many forum posts come up a day? How many do you go through? Not a single person asked you to comment here, or to be "lectured" or to read it. You chose to stick your beak in and write a message. Now sorry if this is to blunt but, if you dont like it, gtfo. If you wanna have a conversation then great, criticism is a good thing, but no one made you come here.. And before you say something like "i have to point out ignorance where i see it" or something like that, save it, thats no excuse if you dont like it move on. And thanks for the compliment, i never said or thought i was a superior intellect to anyone, but hey speak for yourself.

I hate to be "that guy", but this is pretty much stated in the Terms of Service nearly verbatim in most (if not all) online games; especially MMORPG's.

Talk about dilutions. Lol. Telling us no one incited us to comment here because he got his little feelings hurt. Lmao.

You are complaining that they arent fixing it fast enough for you. There can be no complaint that they arent fixing it period. That being said, while PvP is certainly a large part of this game, its not the only part. What exactly is wrong with PvP on x-box anyway?

Dude. Save it. Read his replies. Especially his reply to me that if I don't like it move on. Lol. And he's the one complaining.

OP. Don't like it then move on. Maybe he will take his own advice. Also note his attempt to put me down. lol again. He's a real piece. Delusional for sure.

If you look at any Game on a BBB Website, it is going to be filled with complaints, because complainers gonna complain, to everyone.

I defiantly agree with you there. Thats why i said most of the complaints are trivial, but tbh its more about the ones that arent and the responses that zenimax gives those people. Some of the responses are outrageous. Everyone plays this game in their own way and when it comes to 90% of the game i am very happy. But pvp on xbox has been broken for so many months its just intolerable.

Im guessing a lot of people are happy with it as well. But even if i had never spent more than the box price, I dont think that having the player vs player work in an mmo is to much to ask.. Or just getting some answers about it. I mean its been close to unplayable since dark brotherhood and maybe even before, only getting worse. Regardless, even if it stays like this, i just think zos should could give better answers instead of robotic " Check with your isp" messages through tickets or no answer at all on the forums. The fact that its a huge part of the game, and its broken on a specific platform for so long, is hard to deal with..
