Remove Bonuses from Champion System - Keep only certain Passives

The CP power creep is out of control. ZOS has recognized this by beginning to eliminate CP from Battlegrounds and various Cyrodiil Campaigns. It's time to remove the egregiously OP power creep by making the CP system a series of constellations of quality-of-life passive abilities. Scale the number of Champion Points down from 3600 to 360. Remove the cap. Every 10 points added to a Constellation unlocks only a passive--no more attribute increase or skill increase.

Keep passives like Windrunning and Master Gatherer and add more similarly designed quality-of-life passives. Remove damage passives like Exploiter.

Voila. Game balance becomes 100% easier from that point on. ZOS doesn't need to worry about the next CP cap increase and how it will affect future and current content. Classes can be balanced within each class' internal mechanics.

Short answer is DKs likely won't be seeing a ton of changes before we go live; this class is still quite powerful (as it should be being a tank), even after some of the adjustments we've made to other classes and abilities.

DK IS NOT JUST A TANK CLASS. #PLAYTHEWAYYOUWANT

The power creep CP over the past year has been minimal and was noticeably reduced with the last update. Adding 10 points to CP provides a marginal difference and most of the caps in areas CP can be spent were lowered.

Most of the power creep has been due to changes the combat team has made with the changes they made every 3 months.

    i like this.

cp was great idea, but ended up was causing massive issues and divined the community. plus certain playstyles and extremes surfaced.

Umm, CP is only a problem in PvP, if you consider CP a problem, just play in non-CP campaigns...no removal needed. Can power creep be a problem in PvE? Sure...but that's the same as any MMO EVER. I personally like the tweaks possible through CP that wouldn't otherwise be possible with just a perk system.

Echo what everyone has said so far.

The most recent Morrowind patch changes really helped new CP players compete against those who are at the CP cap.

Don't believe me? Read up on this thread about front-loading of passives and "jump points":

If you still think there is a noticeable power creep after that, then play on one of the many non-CP PvP campaigns. As was mentioned, power creep should not be an issue in PvE once you've reached the gear cap (CP160).
