Tried the bear with a magwarden and with a stamwarden, took me less than an hour to replace it with the ice ult on both. The bear keeps getting stuck, lost, and joins combat too late (it's nice when it hits something, but it's just too unreliable).

I have fun with him PVE wise, wouldnt mind if aggro would stick a bit more or a "sweep" AOE could increase its usefulness as a damage dealer. Single target sure, but PVE wise you want more AOE damage.

PVP I only went out once... we dont talk about that, but I use the bear but forgot to use its ulti quite often.

I never use the bear because of its tendency to just stand around or otherwise get stuck on scenery and, in general, its awful combat AI. I went werewolf instead, mainly because I think the shapechanging fits with what I expect from the class.

Never where I need him to be. Either starting *** across the map keeping me in combat or getting stuck on a corner while a nightblade is going to town. Thankfully the other ultimates makes up for how unbearable this one turn out to be.

I love my bear, things have been so much better since he came into my life. We've been nigh inseparable, my constant companion as I trek through the dangers of Morrowind. I keep enemies at range while he runs in and concusses them.

We are a team, my bear and I. I am no longer alone in the world. He's got my back in a fight, he can start the campfire with his smoldering stare, and he gets the lids off jars that are too tight for me.

Would have awarded the highest rating but he doesn't always smell so great. Maybe a senche would have been better, they're fastidiously clean.

Double beared..err barred, Late to the fight, disappears all of the time, just overall unreliable, and would be nice if I could control him doing single target or aoe damage. I'm sure there's more but I've got to get back to work.

Bear is a lot of fun for overland PVE content and that's what I've been doing with my warden. I don't think Bear would be a great advantage for competitive end game content though. I'd probably have more complaints about Bear if that was my goal.

Tweaks needed: To stop randomly disappearing and stop attacking things in a wide range when I'm just passing through. At least they fixed it so it self heals when I'm out of combat though.

1. Ultimate activation skill is extremely unreliable- it often will not hit unless the bear is directly in front of a completely stationary enemy.
2. Aggro management feels a bit loose and somewhat random

I like him but two things need to change with him (and I'm not saying anything others haven't said before):

1. Needs to be a natural part of the Warden, not an ultimate. Basically, having the bear means NEVER using any other ultimate ever, which is a complete waste.
2. Needs to stop aggroing EVERYTHING. Just because someone else is in combat five blocks away doesn't mean he needs to join in and keep me in combat when I'm just running through an area.

I tried to use the bear last night for a dungeon. Once I noticed that his ultimate ability could actually miss he was instantly taken off my tray. Its sad because I wanted so bad for the bear to be good but hes close to useless

The bear to fly around and shoot lasers from its eyes? Its a wild bear what more can it really do. Unless it can do like a hard cc or soft cc then maybe it would give it some use but for now its just a waste of an ultimate imo

When he isn't attacking random things I'm just hoping to run by while questing he's dying or chasing the enemy around to actually try and attack. Then the fact that he only attacks who I'm attacking is annoying. I wish he acted like the wolves from the werewolf ultimate ability and could keep a enemy/enemies busy for a while while I killed other things.

I very much dislike that the bear is an ultimate.
1) It needs to be on both bars, which means you can't have a utility ultimate (most people have a DD ulti and a Util Ulti)
2) It tries to function as an execute, but ultimate doesn't generate fast enough to actually use it like an execute on a boss.
3) There is no AoE damage with the bear, which makes it not very effective in most fights and most trial bosses.
4) It doesn't deal enough damage to justify not slotting Ele Rage, Northern Storm, or Shooting Star.(I'm not in the know for stam ultimates for the warden )

It's also totally useless for healer and tank roles(though, one could argue that about sorc pets too), mainly because there are better ultimates to be slotted for those roles, especially in group settings. For my warden I like Warhorn, Healing Thicket, and Northern Storm.

For damage dealing roles, it actually does worse than the Sorc's Scamp. The scamp can add ~6k dps. The bear can add ~3k dps.(This assumes proper build/rotation on both, you might experience higher or lower numbers than those stated) Also, it should be worth pointing out that the scamp doesn't take up both ultimate slots, doesn't consume ultimate for its special attack, and isn't the flagship iconic ability for sorcs.

My personal experience with the bear was it being slotted(and out) while I was leveling my warden so I would get exp for the animal companion line. Until I gained weapon swap, then I changed what ultimate I was using and never looked back at the bear again.

How to make it better? Well, it not being an ultimate would work as a start. Beyond that, I don't know anything that would make anyone happy. It can't trade places with Falcon's Swiftness or Betty Netch, both are utility skills that wouldn't make a good ultimate(Also would upset people if either were removed). Dive is currently the only spamable damage skill in the warden's class skills that is heavily used in pvp and pve rotations. Scorch is a heavy hitting skill that is key for most of Warden DPS builds to work. Which leaves swarm which is a hard hitting DoT that is fairly key for Warden DPS builds too. So, we can either have a working bear and break warden DPS and PVP builds, or we can have a broken bear.

Also, people won't use the bear in endgame PVE content for the same reason sorc pets aren't used. The amount of DPS gained is outweighed by how annoying they are. They hold mobs away from the group, they steal buffs and heals away from group members, they get in the way, the die and are a pain to resummon, and "they hurt mah frames bruh!"(not joking, I've seen people complain about that reason before)

on #3, you can use the same keys as the Sorc pets, by default:(on PC)
Y+Left Click is attack what I'm looking at

Heavy attack is attack that target

Warden is my one and only char now that I switched to pc and I love it but the bear sucks.

I still haven't unlocked the bear ultimate on my max level magicka Warden ... so I'm unable to participate in the poll.

These ultimates, in my mind, were more important to unlock during the leveling process:

Permafrost
Secluded Grove
Elemental Storm
Meteor
Warhorn

Except they don't. The ice ult is only good for the max magicka boost. It's damage is low.

And your overal DPS with magicka warden is hilarious without the bear ult. You need BiS gear and a perfect rotation to hit 30k DPS (while other classes can hit 30k with crafted gear and Willpower jewellery).
