Maintenance for the week of December 8:
• PC/Mac: No maintenance – December 8

Approximately how often do you run into a bot(s) per 24 hours of actual game time period?

It's months since I saw a bot train.

Grathwood is a popular botting zone.

I don't know if it's bots, but I will on occasion be heading toward a crafting node and it will disappear, with no one around. Seems like I remember something like this going at launch that was bot related.

edit to add - I did see a large bot train in Stonefalls last week

I haven't encountered any bots since around ESO launch in 2014.

A few months ago I saw somebody in Cyrodiil who kept coming out of Alessia keep, walking directly to the slaughterfish water and killing himself. Thought it must be some kind of bot and was about to report it, but then he whispered me and asked why I kept killing him. Turned out he just didn't know about slaughterfish.

Half the maps listed in the game have dedicated botting areas. Not exaggerating or overstating that in any way, shape, or form. It's been pretty much this way 24/7 for the past 9 months at the least.

Here is a thread I posted about this very thing last November with screenshots and locations, and they are still constantly botted today.

That was a problem early on and people thought it was bots inside the world geometry. ZoS came out and said its a problem with phasing or some other similar type word.

Both problems existed. If it was bots, you could often see pieces of them or other anomalies.

Only in Alikir dolmens. Even without bots though, there'd be tonnes of players there anyways, so I don't see the bots as a major issue. My grind spots seem pretty much bot free otherwise.

I ran into about 6 groups of bots in Grahtwood last night in about 4 hours of game time. I guess it really is a popular bot spot.

I don't doubt their existence, but personally I have not encountered a single bot since 2014. I mostly just play in Cyrodiil or battlegrounds and I imagine any bots there would get killed by other players.

On NA PC it's impossible not to run into a group of bots in general quest areas. You won't see them if you're in bot free zones such as PvP, Dungeons, towns, etc though.

The three most common areas (Reticulated Dolmen area in Shadowfen, the Werewolf Village in Bangkori, and the Drowned Coast Dolmen in Greenshade) always seem to have bot trains. I did not see one the other day in Shadowfen but I was not in the place were I always saw them.

If in fact they have been removed from these areas, perhaps ZOS finally clamped down on them and removed them from the game.

I don't know, that's a big maybe because I still run into bot trains constantly, especially now that I'm farming for overland gears. I'm basically spamming myself (ZOS sends me e-mails per report) by reporting these bots without knowing if it does any good. I still report every time though.

"it's important to state that our decision to go with subscriptions is not a referendum on online game revenue models. F2P, B2P, etc. are valid, proven business models - but subscription is the one that fits ESO the best, given our commitment to freedom of gameplay, quality and long-term content delivery. Plus, players will appreciate not having to worry about being "monetized" in the middle of playing the game, which is definitely a problem that is cropping up more and more in online gaming these days." - Matt Firor

Yeah I forgot, my bad. But in hindsight I'm glad I didn't include it because it would simply mean that these players do not enter botter areas. But then unfortunately the poll should have indicated that the poll is only for players that do regularly enter bot areas. Fixing it now, though bit too late.

If they made me a GM and gave me Banhammer Privileges, it would be a wonderful evening let me tell you.

I would not even need ban privileges. They could give me a "teleport to random zone" spell and I would have tons of fun. Probably too much. Might get a ban, myself.

Teleport them to Cyrodiil. In the water. Would their code be smart enough to get them back to their patrol route?
