Maintenance for the week of December 8:
• PC/Mac: No maintenance – December 8

Approximately how often do you run into a bot(s) per 24 hours of actual game time period?

Since I started playing the game gain, I have seen only one obvious bot... a character suddenly appeared to open a chest and then disappeared after succeeding... it was "wham-bam-thank you ma'am-I've got you" chest opening...
It doesn't surprise me. ZOS sucks when it comes to handling bots.

The three most common areas (Reticulated Dolmen area in Shadowfen, the Werewolf Village in Bangkori, and the Drowned Coast Dolmen in Greenshade) always seem to have bot trains. I did not see one the other day in Shadowfen but I was not in the place were I always saw them.

If in fact they have been removed from these areas, perhaps ZOS finally clamped down on them and removed them from the game.

I don't know, that's a big maybe because I still run into bot trains constantly, especially now that I'm farming for overland gears. I'm basically spamming myself (ZOS sends me e-mails per report) by reporting these bots without knowing if it does any good. I still report every time though.

If they made me a GM and gave me Banhammer Privileges, it would be a wonderful evening let me tell you.

I would not even need ban privileges. They could give me a "teleport to random zone" spell and I would have tons of fun. Probably too much. Might get a ban, myself.

Teleport them to Cyrodiil. In the water. Would their code be smart enough to get them back to their patrol route?

    Yes.

Way back when the game first came out, my guild leader and I made a video of us screwing with some bots that were camping a dungeon boss. Since then and the un-creative, un-subtle steps taken by ZOS to reduce botting, I can't say for certain that I've even seen one.
Even on the internet, clear communication is important; it can be the difference between "helping your Uncle Jack off a horse" and "helping your uncle jack off a horse"; the difference between "knowing your s***" and "knowing you're s***".

when I run farming nodes on small starting islands, bots are everywhere. reporting each of them, not sure if it gives any result.

I haven't encountered any bots since around ESO launch in 2014.

A few months ago I saw somebody in Cyrodiil who kept coming out of Alessia keep, walking directly to the slaughterfish water and killing himself. Thought it must be some kind of bot and was about to report it, but then he whispered me and asked why I kept killing him. Turned out he just didn't know about slaughterfish.

this made me laugh so hard :p

It's months since I saw a bot train.

    PC EU

Check out the Alik'r Desert. Been there for 2 days, whenever a nearby Dolmen was active, there were alot of players and always entering an leaving together, with a "+ Dolmen" in zone chat every two minutes.

So, I guess switching from NA to EU isn't going to get me away from the bots.

This is not necessarily botting, so be careful.

So excited. I think I saw my first bot swarm. It was a beautiful, crisp, clear afternoon in the quiet woodlands of Betnikh.
As I rounded a rocky outcrop, I saw them. 5 sorcerers. All with twilights and clannfears locked in epic struggles with local wild life. Several were repeatedly dropping lightning flood under their feet to discourage any enemies that approached.

    Or maybe they were rubberbanders.

Less than 1 encounter to be precise. Maybe once a week or two.
