Yeah HODOR even stated that they practiced for weeks on PTS. Somehow people always miss the important bits. Then again if people are wanting to find reasons to hate the expansion, they'll just take what they want to hear and leave the rest.

They never said standalone. All they said was it was a "new chapter", to differentiate the addition from the commonly referred to term "expansion" which is used to denote new content aimed at veteran players. TESO:Morrowind is different in that regard because it is catered to all players, new and old. The closest they ever said to standalone was when they said you can play the expansion on its own without needing to play the base content (not that you don't need the base content installed). They mostly said that to alleviate concerns from nostalgic customers looking to play TESO:Morrowind, but who had concerns that they would have to play the entirety of the base game before they could do so. I do agree that at least one character slot should have been included.

No. I personally think the content is sparse, but I got the collectors upgrade at a discounted price so it was worth it to me. If you're only wanting the new zone and want the best value, I'd wait until the expac is on sale for no more than 20-30 dollars (about the same as Orsinium at launch).

Yeah it was terrible being on the PTS and running into Dwemer ruin after Dwemer ruin that was purely cosmetic, had no exploitable interior, and is just there to fill space.

And Wrothgar was just a slightly larger Eastmarch with Orcs.

I loved Wrothgar when it came out, but quickly realized that this was in part because we had been starved for so long before it finally came out.

Hew's Bane and the Gold Coast I din't have such high hopes for, and was pleasantly surprised.

Morrowind... too soon to tell. But I suspect that the hype won't meet reality

I like the story, I went through it in beta. As for the bugs, complain if they don't have it fixed by the release date, we are in early access now.

I blew through vivecs questline in about 2 hours. Is that all there is to do? Balmora nostaliga was nice but this is a pretty small amount of content for $60. Really should have been a dlc.

Like too hard to have it be completed on day 1 by multiple groups - not just hodor. Regardless of PTS time.

It just means the content won't last long. But enjoy your $35 Wrothgar re-skin with less replay-able content.

These people will always find a way to complain. Your point is correct, so the next logical thinking would be, make the pve content a DLC. Make the warden available separately. Now all the sudden warden would be even more p2w than people think it is now, and we'd be in a different whinethread reading the same drivel.

Lol it's cool. I posted that late last night after a very long day with launch fatigue. Disagreed with OP, he disagreed with me, nothing else to see there - moved on. I'm having a blast in Vvardenfell.

Hey, I haven't done enough of it to condemn the Chapter nor praise it, as a whole at least. Though I did do Nchuleftingth last night, and frankly, I thought that was a gosh-darned masterpiece. Had a blast, and the Group Event was especially cool.

But ye the physical edition def worth. Regardless of how I feel about the actual contents worth which should be 25 honestly the physical things help ease the total cost in to something better .

As far as the content goes I'm wondering if you and I are playing the same game? The storyline and zone are fantastic. Just what I've come to expect from ZeniMax.

Not sure if I'm feeling the whole $50 dollar a year "Chapter" for content and then 3 basic updates that will probably be non-sense systems and tweaks...

I think we've basically gotten to the point where we have to buy the game once a year for any kind of storyline.

I hope I'm wrong.

They should have sold the warden, battlegrounds and the story as separate purchases for $15 bucks each. Then you can really play how you want. Don't want new story, ok just take the warden, don't want either, that's fine, you can still do battlegrounds.
